After a long hot crowded day at Six flags, seeing the ridiculous prices of everything in the park, was nice to spend about 8 dollars on a soft serve and a sundae. It was really yummy, creamy and was very satisfied with the large portions. There are many flavors, toppings and a lot of different dips. This is probably the best ice cream you'll ever have. My wife Worked at Baskin-Robbins your college career and even she agrees that the ice cream serve beer is in her top three. Did you make it to the lake George Regent you got to try this ice cream. We also found it at a Local gas station where they serve the soft serve ice cream as ice cream sandwiches. The prices are moderate given that it's ice cream but it's really good ice cream. Only ate at the restaurant next-door ones. When the locals recommend a place right next to Six Flags, it has to be good for them to deal with the all the tourists! So when my friend who lives in Lake George said we had to go to Martha's, I knew it would be good. And it was! Huge portions (be careful about ordering anything larger than a medium!!), excellent quality and friendly servers...everything you hope to find in a local place. Oh, and the price was very fair. Holy cow and I do mean cow. After hiking, burgers weren't enough so when we drove past this ice cream stand with the longest lines I have ever seen, says it was featured on the Today Show, figured it had to be something good. When I ordered 2 'large' cones I had no idea what I was getting. I mean seriously I am still in awe. I will post a photo here to do this review justice. I didn't know it was possible to make a soft serve cone so big. As for the soft serve itself- far from the best I've ever had. In fact I prefer Carvel. The scary thing is it wasn't at all airy - it was soo dense, thick and creamy. I am pretty sure I consumed 12 times the amount of calories I burned on the 5 hour hike. The chocolate and peanut butter were good.. I would say 3.5 stars. The pumpkin tasted artificial - 1 star. Cost/portion ratio: 5 stars. This cone would cost $12 in Midtown. I can't believe we paid under 6 bucks. For the experience and the laughs it gave us and everyone on line: Priceless. read more

If you are in the Lake George area, you HAVE to visit Martha's Dandee Cream. It's a L.G. institution! If you are familiar with a Dairy Queen, think that but x 5!. Lots of interesting soft ice cream flavors, flurries/blizzards, shaved ice, sundaes and you can even order food. There is a large parking lot and people just order and eat in front of the stand. Be warned, the sizes are huge. The small was a bit too much for me and the large is insane. (in a good way). Totally a lot of fun. read more

Very good quality soft serve, friendly service and HUGE portions. WARNING: If you aren't able to consume HUGE portions of ice cream, order a kiddie or small size because they are THAT big! I went with plain old chocolate but it was really good. They also have flavors that change daily. And the prices are sooo reasonable. The small (which is like an x-large cone at other places) was $3 and change. Definitely worth the wait on line if you are in the area. I've been coming to this place a few times a summer for 20 years. I've had much better ice cream at other local mom 'n pops, but this place is centrally located and when I'm in Queensbury I sometimes stop by. Today, Sunday 7/26/2020, was not an impressive day. It has totally changed any fond feelings I had for this place. COVID nightmare. Very crowded. Servers not wearing masks. Most customers not wearing masks. Signs up about social distancing, but not much of it actually happening. Tables still right next to each other. No effort to move them apart or rope off any of them. Used to be amazing. When the Great Escape bought it they killed the flavor for price cuts. Very expensive, smaller cones than they used to have. The quality of this frozen custard is outstanding! Super creamy and all the flavors taste just like they should (e.g. banana tastes like a fresh banana). The price point is ridiculously cheap for what you get and the serving sizes are giant -- don't get anything bigger than a small unless you're a serious ice cream fiend like your's truly. Really great soft-serve ice cream. Their Raspberry swirl is to die for. Everytime I am on line I think I know what I am going to get, but then, I start seeing what everyone else is getting.
