Absolutely one of our favorites. We love adding this to our list of stops when we are visiting upstate. We have 3 soft serve spots that we continue to rank against one another and this one is #1 for us in terms of ease of getting in and out of - the flavors seem to be a little bit better too. We even visit on rainy days and eat it in the car without hesitation. I would guess it's crazy busy during baseball games but we've not experienced that yet.... My personal favorite is the cheesecake flavor! I also love that they have Dole Whip (very hard to find in some areas). If you've not tried Dole Whip, you should definitely give it a whirl. Did you know that Rob and Deb are the ones that started the original Martha's? If you're local, you might already know that. If you're a transplant like me, you might not. Not sure if it was Rob or Deb's family (I don't claim to know the whole story)....but whomever came up with this ice cream/custard soft serve recipe, they know what they're doing. Last Saturday night, three of us decided to trek over to Martha's since they always have a huge selection of flavors. As we drove up, we just kept driving. WAY too busy....literally the busiest I've ever seen. Lines spilling out to the main road. No, thanks! Some other time, perhaps. We kept driving to Rob and Deb's Frozen Dreams and were thrilled that we did. Short lines, nice people and great ice cream. There was a steady stream of people, but completely manageable. I had the chocolate with chocolate dip; the two others had vanilla with cherry dip and a mango dole whip. Forgot to take pics. There were a couple of people in front of us getting the sundaes....they looked absolutely amazing. While the quantity of flavors is nowhere near as extensive as Martha's, the ones that they do focus on are fabulous. My only pause for concern was that nobody behind the counter was wearing gloves (nor masks). I get that restrictions have lifted on the mask part (although stay tuned...), but it's still a food business. Even during non-pandemic times, I don't like seeing bare hands touching something that I'm about to consume. That said, still consider grabbing some soft serve here....it's really good. read more

Rob and Deb's has some of the best soft-serve ice cream I've had in terms of texture. It's just so unbelievably soft and creamy. It makes Mr. Softee taste like absolute garbage. I went with my family and tried the chocolate, the vanilla, the orange pineapple, and the coconut. The chocolate was my favorite. The coconut was great, but it didn't actually taste like coconut - I legitimately thought they forgot the flavoring. The vanilla was solid, and the orange pineapple was perfect if you're into fruity, sweet tastes, like yours truly. There's covered seating on the left, a bathroom in the back, and parking out front. And it's always yummy, people at the window are very friendly, always quick service, the only downfall is that this place is somewhat on the pricy side. It's not horribly expensive but not cheap!!! I know that good help is hard to find but, after getting a prepackaged pint last year and ending up with a mouthful of plastic shards (and a shrug of the shoulders from the staff when I notified them of the issue) I have insisted that any pints we bought going forward would have to be fresh packed. Today is closing day, and we asked for fresh-packed pints and they gave use pints from the freezer. I get that this is a first world problem, but it's customer service. Rob and Deb's staff (some are terrific) don't care about customer service - and I get it, they're kids. But they shouldn't be putting giant tip jars out in front of everyone. According to my AirBnB host during my stay at Glens Falls/Lake George area, soft served ice-cream seems to be the "thing" and she said this place is even better than Martha's Dandee Creme. So, I drove over and parked in their lot out front and tried a classic vanilla soft serve in their homemade waffle cones the night before I left. It was pretty good! The ice cream here is the best in the glens falls area. When we are in Queensbury, we always stop. The wet walnut sundae is amazing.

This was the first stop some friends and I made on our attempt to complete the first 3rd of the, "Ice Cream Trail" which is a trail of 18 ice cream stops along the northeast that my friends read about. As I only visited once, I will just say that my experience was a good one. My friends ordered a ice cream sandwich, and a cheesecake flavored soft serve on a cone. They said that the cheese cake did not taste too strongly of cheesecake and in fact was a little mild but that they still liked it. I tried a Boston Shake which is where you have one flavor as the creamy liquid and another as a scoop floating on top with a barrier of fudge mixed in between and some cream on top. I ordered a vanilla for the shake and strawberry for the top and enjoyed the experience very much. The flavor was thick but not too strong. I don't know if the vanilla and cream diluted the strawberry a lot but the strawberry was not super strong and flavorful. Were I to return, I'd probably try a different two flavors because after words I felt like my combination choice was a bit too bland. I'd recommend the location just for the experience of a ice cream pilgrimage and not necessarily for what is served (though like I said, only one stop). read more

I'm a little sad. Was so looking forward to the opening this year. Since new ownership (I think) it doesn't feel the same. The ice cream still great . But the wafer cones - terrible. That's the best part of an ice cream cone is that last bite at the end. They are using Joy brand cones with the paper stuck to it. They are tiny, taste and feel stale and you get some paper in your mouth because it sticks to the cone when you peel it off. So if you want that delicious last bite you're going to eat some paper too. People flock to Rob and Debs because of what we've come to love - don't change it to save a buck - stop using those supermarket stale cones - please !!!! read more

I just went after a year bc I know disappointment too well after that switch but they had all their lights off 20 mins before closing, the girls rush you and then half ass your $7 reg sized sundae? Pretty tasty - I had the Strawberry Cheesecake twist on my last visit & it was good but the strawberry was definitely stronger than the cheesecake. They've got a sitting area off to the side & lots of parking. A lot to choose from on the menu for sure & more flavors than some of the other ice cream shops in the area but not a ton more. I am allergic to corn and I went up to the window and I asked the guy if there is any corn in their ice cream and he said no.. but I was like are you sure and he goes I am sure and I asked him to double check and he did not double check for me and check the ingredients list. And he was certain that there was no corn in their ice cream. Well guess what I took a bite of the cream and immediately had throat problems and my lips/tongue tingling (good thing I had Benadryl with me) I went back to a different window person and they doubled checked to see if there was corn in their ice cream and turns out there was CORN in the ice cream. It was between coming here or going to Martha's in Queensbury (both places were recommended to us) and while we didn't try Martha's we weren't disappointed with Rob and Deb's. Chocolate vanilla swirl, mint chocolate swirl, and raspberry creme swirl were all enjoyed by us. Never really had soft serve that I thought was particularly good until coming here! Yum!!! I've always wanted to try coffee soft-serve, and Deb's actually has it! Not the weird, 35-flavors, pick your flavor and get a strange powder/gel mixed into your creemee by the machine - real, straight-up coffee soft serve ice cream. I tried a sample (a generous spoonful, in fact) first and was not disappointed. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating- they even asked if I wanted a big cup for my (free) tap water. I ordered the waffle bowl sundae. Fresh waffle cone in a bowl shape, yummy hot fudge, walnuts, whip and no cherry, just the way I like it. Lots of people were eating what looked like orange/vanilla twist soft serve - perhaps a local favorite. The freezer in the back had ice cream cakes and big containers of take-home soft serve There's plenty of outdoor seating and they play 50s music giving the place a fun diner vibe.
