Always our favorite ice cream place to go to in the summer! This is a seasonal ice cream place so they are only open during the warm months. The chocolate peanut butter twist is the best one I have ever had. Especially in milk shake form! My favorite post work snack!! The flavors change every 3 days but if you miss a flavor you wanted don't worry because it will come back. They rotate their flavors regularly! I haven't tried any of their loaded fries but I want to this summer! If you and your kids just got done at a long day at Great Escape this is definitely a good place to go to get a little snack afterwards! A little pricey even for just a kiddy cone but it is always worth it! Be prepared because even the "small" cone brings you a ton of ice cream! I would also give their ice cream sandwiches a try! The ice cream has gotten much better in recent years. In the past it was lacking flavor, but I noticed this year it's definitely much thicker, creamier, and actually has a flavor. Marble cake is my favorite, it's a chocolate and I think birthday cake twist. Tastes just like yellow cake batter from a box from your childhood. Serving size is more than enough, a small is more like a medium or even a large at most other places. Also tried the hot foods snack bar. Researching "must do's" in Lake George and this place is one of the top 3 and it does not disappoint. I was expecting a small ice cream shop and was surprised by the size of this operation! The parking lot is HUGE and they had a dozen or so counters open. We ordered what we thought were 'reasonable sizes and they were HUGE! They have flavors of the day that you order from that had so many basix and creative choices and when I say the portions are massive, I am not kidding! For our party of 5, we spent $20 and all of us were in an ice cream coma! They also have grilled food and picnic tables for dining. Service was super friendly and fast. Don't get freaked out by the lines. It moves quickly! Definitely make it a point to come here if you are looking for a sweet ice cream treat, but don't forget to grab napkins because I guarantee that you'll need them! read more

Martha's Dandee Creme is an old school institution in the Lake George/Queensbury area serving up ice cream treats, Hawaiian shave ice, & simple meals. I had fond memories of my visits back in 2015 of delicious ice cream, large portions, and reasonable prices, so was eager to revisit. I was sadly disappointed this time seeing that portions are smaller, prices are higher, and quality has gone down. You will still get something huge with sizes small and above for ice cream, but the kiddie size (which used to be the perfect size for quenching your ice cream craving) was much smaller than I remember and quality just wasn't great. The vanilla soft serve (2/5) I had on this recent visit was merely average...honestly, McDonalds vanilla ice cream packs more of a flavor punch. A family member had the black raspberry (4.5/5) and said it tasted really good, which had me thinking that perhaps I should have been more adventurous in flavor choice. Service (2.5/5) was fairly quick, but more indifferent than friendly. Like a few other Yelpers, I feel the business is really trying to milk customers between inflation (higher prices), shrinkflation (smaller portions), and pushing for tips/gratuity on top of everything else, which I didn't feel was the case at all when I visited years ago. I doubt my making this business observation will stop the crowds from descending on Martha's Dandee Creme or mark a change in their business practices, but I like to call it how I see it having been there in 2015 and again in 2022. Looking at their menu board, the prices for Hawaiian shaved ice look decent, so would be eager to try that out next time in the Lake George area. read more

Ah Martha's! My family and i go here every year when we go to our vacation to Lake George. I remember trying the coffee flavor first and it was really good! Been coming ever since we tried it. They are known for their soft serve ice cream, plus shaved ices and shakes, as well as ice cream sandwiches. They also have food too, but never tried them. An suggestion is to like them on facebook where they post their daily flavors so one can know what one wants. This vacation i went to Marthas with my family twice: We visited on 7/22 after dinner(8:00/7:30pm). I ordered a medium cotton candy ice cream in a cup, my dad got a medium brownie sundae with chocolate, and my mom got the orange sherbert- medium. Line moved pretty fast, and accepted cash and credit cards. Ice cream was so good! i enjoyed the soft serve cotton candy very much! We also sat by the sprinklers in the front, and got a little wet from them, but felt refreshing because it was a hot day. Next visit was 7/24 and it was just as good. We went before dinner so the line was a bit shorter. This time i ordered the medium chocolate in a cup, my dad ordered Orange sherbet in a cup, and my mom ordered another flavor which i can't remember.. lol. All of it was really good, and we sat at the picnic tables that are on either side of marthas. Overall good ice cream and good vibes! also went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was very clean. We were so happy to be at Martha's this weekend for opening weekend! This is my husband's childhood ice cream shop. He used to come here back when the Great Escape was Storytown. THeir portions are humungous and the ice cream flavours and toppings are over the top delicious and original. On saturday, surrounded by many happy middle school students and their families who participated in the Queensbury Theatre production of Shady Acres, we enjoyed a kiddie cone of orange cream twist. Even though it was 30 degrees fahrenheit outside, it was a delight to welcome spring with an early ice cream cone. My nephews each had coconut, chocolate mint and black raspberry respectively. We love Martha's and can't wait to come back this summer. read more

Came to lake George for a weekend getaway with my family and was told YOU HAVE TO GO TO MARTHA'S!! Shoutout to the person who told us about this fabulous ice cream joint!! The location is easy to find as they have a large chicken and ice cream cone figures. We were not aware of how many flavors Martha's offers. It's incredible to see they have 37 different soft serve flavors and a variety of shaved iced, etc. additionally, they have a food stand for lunch options!! Loved how the joint was located in a giant parking lot and had plenty of tables/ benches to eat!! Ice cream was so nice I had it twice: on my first day I got the peanut butter chocolate swirl and it was very tasty. I had gotten the small but the small is MASSIVE! Easily a medium/ large anywhere else and it is very affordable at $4 for the amount they give. On my second day I got the coconut soft serve ice cream which was really unique and tasted like a coconut froze fruit pop. I've passed Martha's for 20 yrs! The line is always really long and I wasn't going to wait for what appeared to be fast food. Boy was I wrong! We stayed across the street and got into town late, wanted something quick and easy. They have this place down to a science. The lines although long moved very fast. The food was delicious. I went back twice! The burger was amazing homemade fries. The next night I had the Philly cheesesteak equally as good. My kids had dogs and tender boxes, my wife had the shrimp basket. I must have been to Martha's in the past, but I didn't have much of a recollection of it. My friend from Queensbury kept raving about this place, so we stopped one afternoon while I was in the 518. I wasn't super hungry, so I opted for the kiddie chocolate and vanilla twist. WOW, this was the size of a medium or large at other places, I wasn't sure if I could finish it! I really liked my ice cream, the taste was creamy and delicious. I went super basic, but there were tons of different frozen delightful treats to pick from. You will be spending more $ if you opt for something besides a cone. I think we paid about $6 for 2 cones. We were here on a spring afternoon with mediocre weather and we still had to wait in a 10 minute line. I had my small dog with me and others also had pets too. read more

Spring has spring and Martha's is open!!! First of many trips this year!! I love that there is always a dairy free choice- Today's Dole whip was Lemon or Raspberry- Lemon seemed appropriate for a 70 degree day!! There are so many flavors of soft serve to choose from each day!! Sizes are amazing here- I always get a Kiddy cup because I can't finish a small- it's way to much ice cream- although it is fun to watch people walking away with a Large and wondering if they can honestly finish the whole thing! Everyone is nice and if you could don't forget to tip. Even if it's just change they pull tips and most use it for school. I went here with my family and this was an alright time first off all the staff was great and the ice cream was the biggest amount I have ever seen such is a good thing and a bad thing because you can get full quick so if you are full I recommend getting a cup because even a small cone was ginormous. But a bad side is the tables were disgusted there was so much trash under the tables but you can just eat standing up.
