A quick in and out at Gus Canty Community Center during the first Nor'Easter I'd ever experienced…read more I was in town for the Cape Cod marathon and quickly stopped off to pick up my bib at the expo. Very small town YMCA sort of feel to the place. Restrooms were clean, parking lot was large and that's about my only impression of the place. Hoping to visit again, for more marathon expos ;)

As…read morea kid I used to play sports here, as a teen I spent time in the teen center, and while in high school we came here to watch football games. Recently I had the pleasure of stopping in to watch my niece play winter basketball and quickly I remembered why I loved this place. The Rec Center is filled with happy parents watching their kids play while the staff that has been around forever connected with everyone. The center itself hasn't changed much in the last 10 years, but it is clean and well maintained. Watching games here is a little frustrating because of the lack of seating, but overall that is the only flaw. In the end, it was great to be back in this building and I am happy that that staff here continues to be such a great part of children's lives.

Those looking to race will sail two-up in 420's or singly in Lasers. Many of the racing instructors have experience racing for their high school or college sailing teams. Friendly, safe, warm, inclusive atmosphere. Good equipment, usually decent wind, and clean water on Lewis Bay.

This summer I signed up (myself, my wife and two kids 7 & 10) with Yarmouth Recreational Sailing…read moreprogram and the great experience has far surpassed all of my expectations! We were 100% beginners at the start, but were sailing by the end of our first day! All the students received an opportunity to learn at their own pace and some became very proficient. One of the pleasures of this program is that the learning is done on Cape Cod Knockabouts - a classical boat with terrific sailing characteristics. Depending on the skill level the sailing will take place closer or farther from the Lewis Bay mooring field and on several occasions some boats went as far as the Hyannis Harbor. The best feature of the program has to be the Instructors who by their teens have more sailing experience than most adults. They typically started sailing when they were 5 or 6 years old and by the time they are instructing they are seasoned veterans, experienced in all sorts of sailing and racing. They are like all the kind of kids you wish to raise - responsible, smart, kind, intelligent, dedicated and professional. An important feature of the program is its flexibility. The students who progressed to more advanced stages were challenged with more advanced topics. The parent aged students were given an opportunity to study with more experienced instructors when appropriate. There were no idle moments and the mentoring atmosphere was very reassuring to every student. Yarmouth Recreational Sailing organizers and administrators deserve high praise for offering such a wonderful program to the community. He was amazing at identifying the spots with fish, getting us in perfect position and helping us get the fish landed. Big waves and rain didn't deter him at all. He was all about having a full day of catching big fish. This is a great company with people who truly care about the experience. I will definitley go again!

There is a play structure for smaller kids and a larger slide for older kids but pretty limited number of structures. There is a tennis court, bathroom via port a potty, and short gravel walking trail next to the playground. Plenty of parking in the lot.

They must have 6 picnic benches with most of them in the shade which is very beneficial. Also have plenty of park benches too. The grass area is also very nice. It's not huge but enough for kids to run around and have a good time. The big toy is aged, but still very nice and they have toddler swings. Yes, the beach isn't large, as it is the same size as it was 30 years ago. They have the are roped off. There is plenty of beach are for kids to play in the sand. There are life guards there too...

Our guides were happy to chat when we wanted to, and just as willing to let us be a little separate from the group when that's what we wanted. But they always kept an eye on everyone. While my wife has kayaked before, I hadn't, but this has made me eager to come back to them. They are thinking of more kinds of trips to offer--can't wait to see what they come up. Thanks Eric & Paul for creating a great part of our MV vacation.

Six months after my kayak experience, I discovered the Groupon coupon that I used wasn't processed…read morebecause I didn't supply the correct page and I owed more money. That in itself wouldn't be so terrible but I found out because they called my PARENTS instead of me to collect this money. I find that wildly invasive especially since I'm happy to pay any money I owe as long as I'm told I owe it! While the tour was great I found this incredibly upsetting because not only was my privacy invaded but my original credit card information I supplied them has clearly been lost. Too bad because the tour was great. I'd be cautious using this company-if you do, don't supply them with your credit card information because they mismanaged that information. Be careful using groupons or they might call your parents!
