Had a great sail with Pirate Adventures. The crew was clearly experienced with boating AND kids. From arrival to final departure they had ways to keep the kids attentive and engaged, including dress-up, bandanas eyepatches and swords that the kids got to take with them, and even a share in the treasure. I feel like the sweet spot for this activity may ideally be 5 year old and up but that said my two year old did alright and there were plenty of younger kids aboard. If you're traveling to MV with children, definitely recommend Pirate Adventures!

Pirate adventures on Martha's Vineyard was a blast. The crew was amazing and great with kids. They made it fun for all!

We were so excited to see this back up & running this year! Definitely one of the highlights of our vacation & both our daughters, ages 4.5 & 7, LOVED it (as they had when they were 2.5 & 5!). There were some older kids on the boat too who seemed to also really enjoy it so it's good for all ages. They do some great commentary to make it fun for the adults too & it's a nice excuse to take a boat ride around Oak Bluffs. Highly recommend & we'll be back aboard next year!

6 STARS This is absolutely worth every dollar. My daughter had the best time interacting with the staff. The staff does a very good job including all the kids with little tasks that make them feel like they are on a actual pirate boat. The next time we are in Martha's Vineyard we will definitely be going back. Awesome job.

It's only about 350 acres but located right on Sengekontacket Pond. The ocean is just over a narrow spit of land called Beach Road and Joseph Sylvia Park. Another very cool place. Forget about bringing a mountain bike, no bikes or dogs are allowed, just hiking. Lots of cool looking Cormorants and Ospreys love this place and if you are lucky you will see one sweep down and pull a large fish out of the water. You start at the Visitor's Center that has some maps, books and displays and then hike on one of the 6 or so trails. The main trail is called the Jessica Hancock Trail and takes about an hour to finish. Great water views on all sides and lots of indigenous flora is everywhere. Last time I was there this old guy told me a story that Jessica still walks the path evern though she is long gone. I guess she loved this place so much she still can be seen on certain nights in her night grown and hair blowing in the wind. I've her similar stories on Block Island and Nantucket, and Island places seem to love such stories. Even though I've never seen Jessica, Felix Neck is still a very cool place.

Coming back as an adult? Total 180. This place still has all the charm I remember but now I actually read the signs and don't try to touch the crab molts (okay, I thought about it). Walking through the doors felt like flipping through an old chapter of my childhood. The tanks are mesmerizing from massive striped fish gliding with attitude to the sassy little octopus who clearly runs the place (yes, Ink, I see you). And the horseshoe crab display? Wild. Creepy in the best way. There's a quiet reverence here like science and sea life are having a conversation and you've been invited to eavesdrop. The historic exhibits honoring NOAA crews, marine research, and the legacy of Woods Hole remind you that this isn't just an aquarium it's a cornerstone of discovery. It's not flashy or high-tech, and that's part of the magic. It's real, local, and grounded in education and conservation. Also, it's FREE (but toss them a donation they're doing good work here). Coming back after all these years reminded me how much I still love learning about the ocean and how lucky we are to have this spot tucked right into Cape Cod. #WoodsHoleScienceAquarium #CapeCodExploring #OctopusBoss #MarineMagic #FalmouthFavorites #ItsTheLittleThings #PuddingCreekTrestle #LocalScience #SealYouLater #BackToMyRoots
