I have loved Marti and Liz in Tullahoma for many years. It has always been a must-do stop whenever I am in town. There has never been a time that I haven't left without at least six pairs of shoes. Brenda and Ashley have always been so helpful. They are personable and remember me each visit. They also know the style of shoes I like and make every effort to ensure they have provided me with any and all options--even going to the back to make sure nothing that I might like is left behind. Unfortunately, Brenda left to manage a store in Murfreesboro (congratulations, Brenda!) and Ashley was at the store last year when I was in town, providing me the same great service. This past week, I was so excited to visit and see what great finds I would be taking home with me. Ashley was no longer at the store, and another woman was there. As I entered the store to look at the shoes, there was no greeting or question regarding what I was looking for. I was so disappointed at the selection of shoes. I'm used to very current styles (especially heels) and boots, and Marti and Liz has ALWAYS delivered. What I saw was that the majority of the shoes were flats, the heels they did have were tacky and cheap looking, and the boot selection had gone downhill as well. This was before the Black Friday sale. Because I'm an optimist, I was determined to go back for the sale with the hope that the selection had somehow improved over the past day. No luck. Same disappointing inventory. Same lady at the store, but with a young girl there as well. As I was looking at the inventory again, I overheard the lady and girl talking about how "young people have no job ethic and will just walk off a job, like Ashley." Obviously, I have my own opinion of the service I received from Ashley over the past several years, and it had been excellent, so this was just another indicator that the changes to staffing at that location have been poor choices and the service has suffered significantly from last year to this year. I left without a single pair of shoes, and will probably have to make the trip to Murfreesboro on my next visit with the hope of having the same success I have become accustomed to. read more
