She also mentioned she has a trick so I wouldn't feel the shot in the inner mouth area. She was right. I truly didn't feel it. She is also kind, progressional and patient. She has excellent bedside manners. I was impressed by her genuine care for her patients. She also has a sense of humor and makes jokes that are actually funny. I used to see Dr. Clark Martin when I needed root canal work done. So when I recently got a toothache and my general dentist said I needed to have an endodontist look at my tooth, I called Dr. Martin's office. As I suspected Dr. Martin had retired -- but his daughter, Alexa, had taken over his practice. So, being in pain, I made an appointment with her, with a small concern about whether she had enough experience to diagnose my issue when my general dentist couldn't. I couldn't possibly be more happy with my experience. Not only did she diagnose my problem (which required the offending tooth be pulled) but she was able to get me an appointment with an oral surgeon right away and my issue was resolved quickly. The caring and concern Dr. Martin (Jr.) demonstrated were above and beyond what I would have expected. Dr. Alexa Martin is a saint! Let me paint the picture for you... I am the office manager of a dental office across the street from the Martin's office and after a long three day weekend (my office is off Friday-Sunday) we came back to an astronomical amount of messages with same-day emergency toothache patients. One specific patient was in so much pain she needed a root canal done post-haste. With my doctor already doubled booked as it was, not enough coffee in the world could have helped tackle the load... we needed to find an Endodontist who could take our patient immediately. I called our usual referral Endodontist and they were out to lunch, so I decided to ask around. I popped into a dental office in the building (I am friends with their office managers). Luckily, Dr. Alexa Martin happened to stop by their office a week prior and she left them her card. I called and was greeted warmly by their office manager, Priscilla. Explaining the situation she promptly told me our root canal patient could be seen right away. SUCCESS! Fast forward to one day post-root canal, our (now mutual) patient had informed me that not only was Dr. Alexa Martin extremely thorough and informative, but she was an absolute sweetheart!! Her chair-side manner was impressive and her demeanor was admirable. Dr. Martin is without a doubt one of the luminaries of Endodontics. Dr Alexa Martin, did an amazing job on my on fixing an old root canal from when I got my front tooth knocked out at 10 years old. It had become infected & spread into my jaw bone above the tooth. She made me feel extremely comfortable, as did all of her staff. I was really nervous & awake for the procedure, but did not feel a thing /felt comfortable the whole time. They checked up on me & were really nice at the follow up visits as well. I would recommend them to anyone. They were precautious & safe with everything covid related as well. **if you care about your health and your teeth you will NOT come see this man** I was referred to this dentist for a emergency root canal whilst pregnant with twins. You could already imagine my nightmare with x-rays and what not. He for whatever reason did not want to finish the root canal and said he put in a temporary filling and I would need to get it taken care of after delivery. Fast forward to 1 year later (when I finally had the time to take care of it).... come to find out he DID NOT put a temporary filling, he placed a PERMANENT filling in my tooth. Not completing a root canal and permanently filling it? Come on. Really. Crooked Beverly Hills dentist. Not to mention when I came in he wanted to charge me 2,000 for the root canal because he "didn't accept my insurance" and when I refused to sign and was going to leave he came back and said it was an 85 dollar co pay. That should have been my red flag to get the hell out of his office. Anyways, the current dentist decided to remove the permanent filling and finish the root canal. THIS IS WHAT SHOCKED ME. Clark Martin placed a piece of COTTON as the filling in my tooth. Yes. You read that correctly. Cotton. C O T T O N. When he opened that filling up the SMELL of my rotting and decaying tooth filled the entire room. I wanted to vomit. The rotting cotton formed a huge abscess in my tooth which I immediately had to have drained. Omg. It was so painful. For weeks. I had to take antibiotics. I contacted Martin via email and told him what he did to me and he responded with some bullshit and didn't even address the issue. My lawyer will be following up with him. And I will 100% be reporting him to the American dental association. This is not acceptable patient care. Please do not put your health and oral care into the hands of this man. Pictures of the cotton taken out of my tooth will be posted for evidence. Dr. Martin, you should be ashamed to call yourself an honest dentist. The least you could have done was owned up to your mistake and compensated me for the root canal and abscess I had to have drained because of your careless mistake. I have to admit that Dr. Martin is the nicest - gentlest dentist (D.M.D.) I have ever gone to. I was referred to from my dentist Dr. Richard T. Chung @ 321 N, Larchmont who is also a great kind gentle dentist as well. I went to see Dr. Martin for what a root canal, as it turned out I didn't need one. He spent about 30 minutes explaining what was going with my tooth and preventive dental care. I appreciate his bedside manners if you well, because most doctors today - rush you in and out. I highly recommend Dr. Martin and I want to give a shout to Priscilla who works the front desk and Ericka (I think that's her name) his dental assistant. Nobody likes a root canal! This is especially true when your referring dentist tells you in advance that this is not going to be inexpensive. Yet I have to say that Dr. Alexa and Priscilla in the front office were responsive, accommodating for someone in pain and really made the effort to explain all aspects of the procedure. I've had a similar procedure elsewhere in the past so had a bit of experience to go by. The procedure took two visits, but again when I left the office I understood why this was needed. After two visits to my dentist complaining of extreme sensitivity to my lower left molar, after an exam and an X-Ray which revealed nothing unusual I was referred to Dr. Martin immediately on the day of the last visit. On my arrival at 4:00pm (same day BTW) I was informed by the wonderful receiving secretary Priscilla that I am the the 5th emergency of the day, after a short wait I was seen by Dr. Martin, he took 4 X-Rays and like before nothing unusual was revealed, he proceeded to test left side in number of ways, that exam revealed to Dr. Martin that it is coming from my left Lowe molar (which has a crown), all through out that exam Dr. Martin was very sensitive to my situation and was as gentle as possible, he informed me that I need root canal which he proceeded to do. I can't give enough praise for his work and his office stuff, a chosen group of personal that work well together and are extremely polite and most importantly helpful. I Highly Recommend Dr. Martin. Side Note: four years ago my dentist put a crown on that tooth, at that time he informed me that I may need a root canal soon because it was sensitive, well it lasted a while not bed. read more

The tooth was already causing swelling and constant throbbing pain but Martin was able to see me right away. He fit me right in and got to work. He details what he's going to do and lets you know what's going on. He estimated the time to do the procedure and completed it well within. However, my nerves were immediately settled as she calmly and thoroughly walked me through each detail of my exam and my procedure options. I was referred by my Dentist for a root canal to Dr. Martin. The receptionist reviewed my insurance and found that I still would pay $1000 out of pocket, which I expressed my lack of. Dr. Martin had plan A, plan B, plan C and explained in detail my options...he said I may not have to have a root canal until he got into the procedure to know. I walked out of his office with insurance covering the work. I really recommend this great Doctor, he is personable, he explains every detail of the procedure, and you can tell he is truly dedicated to his patients feeling the least amount of discomfort, he is empathetic. His assistant was wonderful, just as kind. His receptionist diligent & experienced with insurance. I was so reluctant for this first visit, but walked out of Dr. Martin's office knowing there are still good people in the world, and great Doctors. KUDOS DR.
