My response to business owners response: I strongly disagree that you were more than happy to answer my questions. In fact only 1 of the 6 questions I asked post appointment were answered, and that was after I was told my expectations were too high and to go else where. I was asking additional questions so I could make an informed decision which I wasn't even able to do since you refused to even answer most of my questions. The only main concern I mentioned was not wanting to loose my teeth, which I was told would not happen. Is that too high of an expectation? In fact, not once was I even asked what my treatment goals were, or what my expectations were. You made a very big wrong assumption that my standards were too high. I simply wanted to know all my options, and how much bone loss I had, and the chance of a successful gum graft given I'd be spending over $4000 out of pocket with no insurance. Asking lots of questions, no matter what the questions is part of making an informed decision. However, you concluded wrongly that my questions meant I had too high expectations. I have never been to a professional where asking questions led to being dismissed as a patient. But that is exactly what happened in this office. Today I took my son to his first appointment. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. My son is a catastrophically wounded veteran. He is paralyzed, burned, missing an arm, PTSD to name a few. An xray CD we brought wasn't usable and he had to have them taken again. He was in a bit of a meltdown mode. It was challenging in his chair but they were very resourceful and were able to get them taken. He is now very relieved and looking forward to the work that will be done. Dr. Anson's journey to get my implant was a long process. At no fault from Dr. Anson, my implant did not take due to an infection after 3 months. We went through the process again to secure the implant at no cost which lets me know that he wanted to do the right thing and make it right. Integrity is one value this business has practiced and I greatly appreciate it. Not only was this process painless but they made my overall experience pleasant and the impression that was left was they really care for their customer's well being. I have had gum recession since college and knew that because of the severity, I would likely have to get a procedure to correct it. Turning 30 this year, I decided it was time to start looking for a periodontist after putting it off for a while. I went to several periodontists and got conflicting advice as well as quotes for pricing. One periodontist quoted me $20K (!!!) for the procedure which would have involved corrections in 4 different areas of my mouth and was unable to tell me how much my insurance would cover. I was beginning to feel pretty defeated by the process of finding a periodontist who could 1.) Tell me what was realistically required to correct my gum recession; 2.) Give me a fair price with a breakdown of what insurance covered. Thank god I found Dr. Anson and his team because I got just that. Not only did he give me a realistic idea of what actually needed to be fixed but Renae also gave me a price break down that wouldn't break the bank (along with a plan as to how to best schedule and utilize the maximum of my insurance). I am scheduled for the procedure in November, but happy with the process thus far. read more

Our dentist referred us to Dr. Anson because of something in my daughter's gum that wasn't clearing up with medicated mouthwash. She was not thrilled about having to have see a specialist the week before returning to college. I was struck by how Dr. Anson immediately started to think about solutions that would not require on-going follow up, and within a matter of minutes, we agreed to have the impacted area lasered off. My daughter hates pain. The team did everything to make her feel comfortable. Elaine went out of her way to make sure that the payment process was as pain-free as possible too :) My daughter said she wished Dr. Anson were her regular dentist - not just a specialist. If my family ever needs implants, we are coming here. As all of the other reviewers have said, we can't recommend Dr. Anson and his team highly enough. I had no idea how distinguished and innovative Dr. Anson is in his field before our appointment. Dr. Anson has done complicated procedures with me, and I was shocked at how smooth and easy they went. He also is doing very complicated work on my daughter, also just so excellent. He is so so good; he deeply cares about his patients. His work. Takes a lot of personal pride in his efforts. Also, I have or did have such fear, like dental terror, but no longer. I have no shortage of dental issues, have seen loads of dentists from the South Bay, Beverly Hills and Newport Beach. I've been told I need gum surgery, full mouth reconstruction, bone grafts, anesthesia in order to get implants and a host of other procedures. Months after a double root canal from an endodontist I had never used before, I continued to have excruciating pain in the concerned area. I went back to the endodontist, the general dentist who referred me to said endodontist, my prior endodontist and no one could or 'would' identify the cause of the pain. I even asked specifically, is my tooth cracked? They each denied that the tooth was cracked even though research strongly suggests that this was the issue. So I gave up asking and lived with the pain. Then months later I did a little research online and found Dr. Anson. I looked at his specialties and stated to myself that if he could not help me, then I didn't think anyone could. So I scheduled an appointment. He took some x-rays and scans, went over some issues with me and without me saying anything specific about the problem area other than I was having pain after a double root canal, he pointed out on the scan that there was a crack in my tooth. I felt vindicated and at the same time a little upset that my prior practitioners failed to see or admit it was there. I wanted to cry actually because now it was confirmed what the cause of the pain was. Having said that, we started a treatment plan, and what I absolutely love about this periodontist is that there are always options. If I indicate something is too expensive OR if he suggests one course of action, his wheels are always turning and he will look at the scan again and say "here is another option." So I always have choices and this makes him stand out from any other dentist I've ever visited. So many times by other practitioners I have been told their way is the only way or I need a treatment that I later find out I really don't. Or they tell me I need full mouth reconstruction when I am there for tooth pain. It is very refreshing to have someone who will give you options. And not just the most expensive one. He gives you all of your options. This is what makes him a GREAT service provider. He is knowledgeable, informative and like some other posters have stated, he is humble. I'm deeply grateful to Dr. Anson and his team -- there couldn't possibly be anyone better you could find for your care. Not only is he a leader in his field, he conveys deep caring for his patients. His gentle demeanor, humor, and careful listening puts you immediately at ease - and everyone in the office is very warm and kind and helpful. Scheduling is impeccable. I never waited. He did my first implant 21 years ago to replace a baby tooth without an adult tooth behind it. When it came time to have a second implant, I lived far away - had lost my records - and thought it was no big deal to go to someone else my dentist recommended. After all, it had been so easy. What a mistake. The day after a nightmarish tooth extraction experience (and a bone graft I was overcharged for that promptly fell out) I took to Google, desperately trying to remember the name of that wonderful periodontist from December of 2000 and praying he was still practicing. After some squinting at photos/best efforts at age-progression:-) I recognized what I thought might be this periodontal god from years ago and called the office. They still had my records and welcomed me warmly! Thank goodness. He really rescued me. After months of poor healing and pain -- and bone shards that were left in my gums -- he managed to fix me up in a day, essentially. Then for the actual implant the procedure again went very smoothly. Miraculously I had little to no pain after any work he did -- despite having been through the ringer with complications from the other work. I wish all medical and dental care could be as high quality. No one wants to have periodontal work or dental work, but I really practically looked forward to the long drive and visits to Dr. Anson's office. Quality care like that is hard to come by, and I cannot thank them enough. read more

Couldn't be more grateful to have met Dr. Anson. His gentle care and attention to detail has made a rather complex sinus lift and implant surgery as uneventful a procedure as a deep teeth cleaning. Follow-up visits - at no charge one might add - during the healing process helped immensely calm the mind and were certainly greatly appreciated. Incredible experience with a what was supposed to be a very painful and stressful procedure. From the start, I was impressed with how kind and wonderful his staff were. I had a root cracked tooth and I was in severe pain. He took me as an emergency patient at the end of the day. He took his time to evaluate my teeth and explained in detail, what needs to be done and what I will experience. Tooth extraction is a very traumatic procedure but from numbing to the end of the extraction I experienced absolutely no pain whatsoever. No pain or complication therefore after ethier. I can't say enough good things about Dr. David Anson and his team. I was referred to this office after getting a cleaning from another bootleg dentist who told me that I needed a $10k laser treatment on my gums. I had bleeding gums but I didn't think it was THAT bad. Petrified, I immediately set up an appt with Dr Anson. He did a thorough exam and told me there was no way I needed that type of work. Following his recommendations, I have been routinely seeing his dental hygienist Josie who is absolutely THE BEST!!! She is very professional, personable and I always feel at ease in her chair. Now that my treatments are almost complete, she is "trying" to refer me to another dentist. I've gotten so spoiled, I don't want to go anywhere else. I'm 50 and haven't needed real dental services (other than check-ups!) my entire life, so when I found out I needed an implant I was more than a little concerned. I did a LOT of research that included personal references, and all signs pointed to Dr. David Anson and his staff. Despite my worries, Dr. Anson exceeded all of my expectations. DR. ANSON - Top shelf dental and professional skills all the way. An implant requires coordination with your regular dentist, and Dr. Anson clearly commands a lot of respect from other doctors. He's also one of the most personable and professional doctors in any medical field I've experienced. His follow-up and concern about how I was doing through this whole process couldn't have been any better. STAFF - Wow. Everyone was so pleasant and professional. From the receptionist, to the scheduler, to the nurses... everyone knew their job well, had a smile on their face, and were incredibly helpful. "Service" is a real priority at this office, and even through I was nervous through the process, they all were very supportive. OFFICE - It's... different. The decor makes you smile, mostly because it isn't the typical stale, emotionless space most doctors create. It kind of cracked me up to walk in, and I liked it. Dr. Anson also happens to have some very state-of-the art equipment, and I was able to avoid extra trips to third party offices for certain x-rays and such. Perhaps there are cheaper alternatives, but for something as delicate as dental surgery you don't want to chance a bad experience to save a few ducats. I hope I don't see another dental surgeon for another 50 years, but if I do, it'll be Dr. Anson. read more

The best of the best! Would not go to anyone else as long as I live in Los Angeles. Needed an implant and he made the process as painless, quick and smooth as possible. Plus I ended up with a tooth that looks and now feels like a real one. Have had other dental issues along the way and I totally trust his judgment as to taking care of things in the best possible way. Recently came down with an abscess causing a serious dental infection in the gum. Someone else might have recommended to just pull the tooth and then get an implant (it was a front tooth) but Dr. Anson did a procedure to clean out the infection in the gum and saved that tooth. Plus I had no pain other than the initial numbing injection which he does as gently as possible. He and his office staff which includes his wife are also wonderful and always a pleasure to deal with. read more
