Over the past few years I have visited OCBM a number of times and every time I find it hard to get help. The young staff is more interested in talking to one another than a customer and the older staff is grumpy and acts as if they are inconvenienced to answer any questions. This has not happened just once, but every time I have visited and my questions are never difficult, but that of where is something or cae I order something. This is not only my sentiment, but many other locals as well. I have stopped trying to offer my money to OCBM and opted to take the 25 minute drive to Beaumont and shop and the "big named" stores. Why should I pay more for a rude and unhelpful environment when I can take just a little more time out of my day, save money and find more options? I am done with OCBM and they will not get anything from me again.

You can get better prices at the big stores, but in the era when Blackrock and Vanguard own and therefore control shares of most big companies, it's likely that your money will be going to policies and causes that you are against. This is why I'm a Sutherland's regular. Ace Hardware is very convenient, but also expensive. Home Depot has low prices, but has gone liberal. Lowe's is far better. But Sutherland's is a local business. It has a wide selection of lumber, tools, landscaping equipment, plants and seeds. The employees try to be helpful, and succeed. Some of the materials are fitting specifically for Southeast Texas, not the one-item-fits-everywhere approach by Lowe's and Home Depot. And the prices are slightly lower than the Ace Hardware across College Street. The big boys are typically the first place we think of if we need something. If you need things for the house, I encourage you to try Sutherland's. You should love the experience. If you're a single woman looking for a husband, stick to Home Depot :-D

Lots of things to get, more than 40 aisles in this store filled with lots of workshop items, house items, furniture, and MORE! Every time I come here, the workers really help us out here, and very welcoming! The worker over the checkout, help us out with an issue, everything worked out great! Came to get some gloves, cleaning supplies, and ac filter. Worker AJ came to help us with the AC filter, when they didn't have the one for us, he recommended to order it on the app so we can get the size we need! Worker Terry helped us with looking for the items, an expert, tell her an item, exactly knows where it is!
