We called on Martin Septic Service after an Amerigas truck driver drove across our lawn and crushed through the septic tank. Jeremy came out immediately to assess the damage. We did have a wait between Amerigas's settlement and the City of North Port's health department permit approval, but none of that was the fault of Martin Septic. Brooke was always friendly and welcoming when I called to follow up on the status of the permit. The day finally came when we were approved and they got the work done efficiently and neatly. Martin Septic installed the complete system 2 months before I bought this new house in 3/2020. I had the septic tank emptied for 1st time on 6/23 and was advised the septic tank had been crushed and seriously cracked. Martin Septic and the manager Jeremy F. inspected the tank but refused to honor my 5-year warranty. It seems Martin Septic has a history of ducking responsibility and refusing to honor their warranty. I believe there are many other customers out there that ran into the same problems with this company. It's a cruel world and I would advise avoiding doing business with these folks. read more

I have a warranty issue that I have not been able to get them to correct I was in contact with Jeremy F for awhile then they wouldn't return my calls or emails. I get it it will not be a cheap or easy fix but I would hope they would stand by their work for the 5yrs they offer a warranty on. A family of 5 in a new construction home should not need 3 pump outs in less than 4yrs and we follow all the rules for septic care. It really sucks because we feel helpless against these big companies and it doesn't seem like anybody cares! It's sad to say but I can see why there are so many negative reviews but our builder chose this company not us. read more

They installed my system June/July 2021, we started having problems in August/September. Plumber was out multiple times then suggested it was the septic. Called Martin Septic. They came and said failing drain field. Being less than two years, it's warrantied. No, they said. FOG was present so therefore they would not fix under warranty. FOG is not avoidable and my filter was clean. They pumped and gave bacteria but still say it's our fault the drain field is failing. In two months? Seriously? This is a pattern with this company. I am up to 19 other people who say Martin septic told them the same thing. They improperly installed or used faulty materials and will not replace/repair the drain field they say is failing. Plus, they said if I have another company come give me a second opinion it will void the warranty all together! Do yourself a favor and STAY far away from Martin Septic. This company will lie and string you along and tell you there is nothing wrong with the system they installed. Let's start from the beginning. We purchased a brand new construction home November 30, 2020. Things were going good up until may of 2021. Within 5 months of being in a brand new home our toilets wouldn't flush and had sewage backing up into the bathtub. Martin Septic (the company that installed our band new system) sent out one of their technicians Shane he showed up absolutely stoned reeking like weed. He proceeded to perform his inspection, pulled the lids and stated to be the drain field is not working properly. He probed the ground in a few places noting one area being saturated and another being absolutely dry. He then proceeded to dig a few holes noting the depth of the drain field. Then he left. Next day or so they sent out another tech named john who pumped the tank to give the drain field a few days to dry out. Within the next few weeks Martin sent out a tech every other day to inspect the levels in the tank. This is where they proceeded to shift the blame elsewhere "maybe you have a leaking toilet" they said. I do not have any leaking toilets. This is a brand new home with brand new septic system. I should note there are 4 of us in the home and no one is home during the day my wife and I both work and the kids are in school so we do not use to much water. A brand new system should not be backing up within the first 5 months. So after they pumped the tank and performed their inspection. They told us everything was fine and working the way it should. Ok, they are the "professionals" so I took them at their word. Fast forward to today 7/7/22 our septic has once again stated backing up. This time I contacted another company to come out and inspect the system. It was noted that the tank was over operating level and the drain field was in failure. Not even sure where to begin, I have been having septic issues on my house that was at the time was a year and a half old. I had 3 licensed septic inspector's from different companies come out and tell me it was a drainfield issue to call Martin and they should come out and fix it. I called the company so many times the two ladies they have working are so awfully ignorant. They told me it was a plumbing issue and I had multiple plumbers come out which are so expensive by the way!!!Also the companies that came out to empty the drain was $300 every 2 1/2 three weeks and that was for 4 months straight, then the cost to fix it from ANOTHER company that was wonderful, it was $10,000 so I understand why they were hanging up on me and not answering my calls or emails even Martin himself did not answer any of my calls or text messages, The call he did answer, he hung up on me and I had a license inspector standing there and he heard me tell him what was going on he actually told me go ahead and give him a call and he listened to what I was saying and then hung up on my face didn't say a word!! The guy that was standing there with me was shocked!! NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!! Just want to add that the 3 companies that Immediately saw the issue said it was definitely the companies error on how it was put in and they would've definitely came out and fixed it without any question. The one tech Martin sent out was poking holes in my yard, water and crap was bubbling out of it and he said to me this is saturated I said so what are we Going to do about that and there was no answer then later on that night is when I got a lovely email from one of those ladies and they said it was a plumbing issue once again, that the water was coming from inside my house which it was not , had three plumbers out here if not more also 3 septic license inspectors it was definitely not a plumbing issue after thousands of dollars later then even on top of that fixing the issue for $10,000 so please please read all of this!!!!! Martin himself came out and said stop using liquid softener for the laundry and gave me a box of crap to put in once a month. He was useless! Then I got the health department involved and in one of the emails that one of the ladies from Martin Septic sent the health department and copied me, had a bunch of lies and said a tech they sent out saw grease in my tank and he gave me a box of stuff they sell I guess to put in tank, I was so mad and told the inspector it wasn't a tech it was Martin himself that came out and didn't see no grease! Like why lie. Terrible terrible company!!!! This was a total nightmare for me. I lost so much money cause I couldn't rent the house out, unnecessary plumbers and three professional opinions from three different septic companies and how many times I payed to get the tank emptied out but a company came through that I absolutely love and fixed it. I could actually sue this company Laywer wants to take the case but I just want it all to be over and move on with my life please please please please do not deal with Martin Septic!! read more

Their idea of an inspection report is part 2 of a triplicate form where the items circled don't match up on the page and a bunch of measurements and a hand written statement that says the tank is deflected and they recommend replacement. If you weren't standing with the inspector, this sheet means nothing to a layperson. I called and asked for a written report and was told they would not change the report nor would they do a written report explaining what that piece of paper and the measurements meant. For $200 take your business elsewhere! I would give them negative stars if I could. I paid for a service and got a worthless piece of paper. Never will they do any business with me!!! read more

We had a drainfield replaced by Martin Septic Service in 2011, and by 2018 were told we needed "repair," which Cindy at Martin calls a "whole new drainfield." Although owned by my mother and used by one single older lady for years, the field failed. For several years prior to that, we pumped it frequently, because the cost to replace is so high. I was told by Cindy at Martin that drainfields fail as soon as two years, and they've seen a few fail at five years, and that it is the fault of the user. When inspected by another company, they said that the drainfield was built poorly and filled with sand. When I asked Martin what they do for a customer whose replaced fails early, the response was, "What do you do when your car fails after something was replaced?" She told me that I acted as if I knew more than she did, and maybe I do. After 20 years selling real estate with septic tanks, owning rental properties, and living in a home with a septic, I do know for a fact that a new drainfield shouldn't be failing this early, and that some discounts should be in store for someone who faces replacement again within a few years. Cindy has no customer service skills, and the company doesn't seem concerned with retaining business, even from someone who has sent them years of referrals (including my own mother). read more
