I love their brisket tacos like none other! My coworkers and I used to go at least twice a week. (I no longer work downtown) The cheese is piled high and so yummy! They use cabbage instead of lettuce which was neat and the salsa is great tasting! I would recommend this place to anyone who loves a good taco! They also put avocado slices on them!! I've been a patron since they opened their doors and I can honestly say it used to be better...but I'm old with depleted taste buds now so that's probably the difference. The tacos should and probably do make all other mexican restraunteurs in town jealous. I mean, how is it the best tacos in town come from a bakery? They've got the flavor business down pat, it's always shown in their tortas (estofado is my favorite) and again...tacos...ridiculous. If you want a nice dessert, clearly the bakery side can meet your needs, I recommend the cream cheese empanadas. If I wasn't weight conscious and/or had the metabolism of a honey badger, I would eat there every day...twice a day. Note: When ordering tacos, they are offered crispy and soft but both on corn tortillas. (most places switch to flour when going soft) I suggest going crispy but I have friends who swear by soft. read more

I'll have to go back and try something else.... I had the crunchy carne asada tacos....Not carne asada, it was just ground beef and not seasoned either. They did have healthy amounts of cheese and a nice slice of avocado on each taco though. The shells were delicious. My wife had the lengua torta which was decent, could have had more lengua on it though...the star was the bread. The selection of pan dulces is great, I recommend the guava. I have heard that their menudo is good but based on my first visit, I'm skeptical. I know that being from the West Coast I have a different definition of what mexican food is, but so far this place is closer to the level of Rosa's....with Rosa's having better flavor and a better condiment bar. Very authentic tacos, the salsa is great (green and red both great green is hotter, red is hot has more flavor). Very clean only offers Bud Light and Michelob Ultra no Miller products. The Pasteries are beautiful and fresh to taste. Overall great place. Serves coke products and authentic Mexican sodas too. read more

they used to be better. when i first moved to midland they were my go to spot. always had great sweet bread and the food was just like eating and grandmas house. im not sure what happened over the years but the food is no longer the same quality. it tastes like they stopped cooking their their own food and started defrosting and microwaving stuff. you used to order a torta there and get a generous serving now your lucky if you find the meat. really really sad. that said the sweet bread is still good. read more

The Tortas here are ridiculous! The bread is baked in house and they come loaded with the meat of your choice (I'm a big fan of the chicken and barbacoa) and mayo, lettuce, tomato and avocado. They have a red sauce and a green sauce. We usually go around 2 or 3 to avoid the lunch rush and they are always out of the green! If you have a chance, get your hands on some. The red is yummy too, but sometimes it can have a little more heat to it than I'd like. Mexican Coca-Cola and horchata make it perfect. read more
