Tall City Brewing Co. While on a quick daytrip to Midland, we stopped in for a quick pint at Tall City Brewing Co. The space is huge and is the staff is quite helpful and nice. I got their light Landman Lager (you know because Landman is based in Midland), and it was crisp and easy to drink. My girlfriend got herself a darker brew that she loved as well. Service is great, beer is cold, and tons of seating. Perfect pit stop to grab a great brew and some brewery swag. Also for the non-beer drinkers they have some great wine and ciders in house. The wife and I were on a journey to Red Rocks Colorado for a show; Bob Weir. What better way to make a pit stop and enjoy a beer at Tall City Brewing Co. Brewery is a large and spacious location. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They certainly have a large selection of beers. My wife had a cider; oh boy and I an IPA. While I enjoyed my beer. It was going down slow. Maybe it was the 95-degree heat. I just felt off. Maybe the long trip. Don't know, but my IPA was a bit heavy today. Overall, I would stop by again and try the lighter beers. Flights may be the way to go. This is how I usually roll at a new brewery that I visit, but no time today. The place was certainly slamming that Saturday afternoon. Food truck on-premise. This is one of the greatest (if not the best) spots to hangout after work in Midland. They have abundant indoor and outdoor seating, with heating/cooling options for outside for the days when the weather doesn't cooperate. They have a huge beer selection and, while it is sometimes hit or miss, the majority of them are great. They have food trucks that rotate through, which is kind of fun. One neat thing is a lot of groups meet here either before or after a sporting activity, so it is a great way to meet people. I know of at least two (running and biking) who make a stop here as part of their routine, and those folks are always great to talk to. read more

The beer is delicious. It's a little on the heavier side if your used to more lighter domestic, but give it a try because there is a huge variety. So fun getting the sampler tray. We have tried a couple tall city beers at local restaurants so we went to the brewery to try more on a Sunday. We tried to order a couple flights but they said "they weren't doing flights that day". We really just wanted to sample multiple beers but we couldn't convince them so just left and will have to come back another day I guess..... Really weird. read more

Great beers and worth the stop! Visited from out of town and while I know TX had changed mask regulations, most establishments were still adhering to them. This place wasn't and I felt like I was being judged for wearing my mask. Especially when none of the workers were. Beers were good, lots of options. Great place for a good quality and local beer!!! I had sample the 5 types they have at opening month, they are fantastic and able to please diverse palates. Try them all...!!! Good for after work beer, good for meeting point with friends, and good for families as well. They let kids to come in, even in strollers, which is very positive and flexible. They mentioned to they are planning to extend beer types as the brewery grows. While visiting my daughter in Midland, she and her husband took me to tall City Brewing and I really enjoyed it. They have a large selection of craft beer's from the lightest Ale's to the Stout Dark beer. I liked the Haboob Hefeweizen and Five Hour Drive Honey Blonde Ale. The Gal behind the bar was knowledgeable and informative about their beer and made great recommendations. A Hot Dawg Food truck was there so we had a fine midday snack of brats N kraut with fries. I'm guessing that the trucks may change but it was a nice touch. I highly recommend Tall City and I'll be back. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a barleywine on the menu, and it just goes to show that this place is willing to take risks and experiment; I think that's exactly what beer drinkers are looking for when visiting a brewery. There aren't many places like this in the area, and that's all the more reason to stop by and sample their taps. They also had an area set up on the patio with a food truck when we visited on a weekend earlier this year. The beer is just ok and for $7 a beer I would expect a lot better. After having a few beers I was feeling bloated and wanted to switch to a glass of wine, which were all a whopping $12! When I asked the bartender what kind of wine they had he said in a very smart ass tone, a white, a red, and a rose. When I asked if the rose was sweet or dry, he rudely replied "I don't know, I've never tried it." I was under the impression that a bartender should be familiar with everything they offer. And if you're not, a simple "I'm not sure, let me find out for you," would suffice. Service levels in this post-COVID world are awful! I'm going to stop my usual 20% tipping and start letting my tips reflect my service. OVER it!! Midland didn't have much to offer in terms of entertainment and I feel bad for the people who live there and have to tolerate this as one of only a few options. read more

I think it is absolutely ridiculous for a brewery to allow children to run amok. It kills the vibe. Despite the [very] few signs instructing parents to not leave their kids unattended there is little to no effort made in keeping random kids from crawling under tables and running around screaming. I'm reluctant to give this establishment more than one star, because I don't believe it will make any changes.
