Because, this is a very-very small farmers market. This is not a criticism. This is just a fact. When you come to this farmers market, there's only a few sellers offering fresh produce. This being stated, however, these sellers do offer some very good vegetables and/or fruit items. But, you just have to keep in mind, your selection is going to be very limited when you come here. Other than some vegetables and/or fruit, you will find various sellers offering various other items at different points throughout the year. The sellers at this farmers market change frequently. So, you probably shouldn't expect to go one time, come back to the next, and expect that same seller to be there. They may be there or they may not. In terms of location, this farmers market is located in the shopping plaza just across from the central area of the Little Tokyo shopping and dining area. So, it's very easy to find. It's right off the 2nd Street. This farmers market certainly serves its purpose, but you just have to keep in mind that what's offered here is not defined by large quantities or a large selection. Nonetheless, you may find exactly what you're looking for.

Because of this pairing, the market accepts CalFresh EBT and SUN Bucks. CalFresh-EBT and SUN Bucks benefits are eligible to purchase of $10 fresh fruits and vegetables and $10 for the purchase of any food item at the market which is amazing! They are working on getting WIC and the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program accepted in the future, as well. This makes my heart so happy that this farmers market is truly making a difference for people. The market itself was just the right size for me - not too big, not too small! Walked in at exactly 9am, and there was already a long line. They had a lot of food options to choose from along with lots of beautiful, real plants. They have over 30 vendors and some even let you try the food before buying them. Parking situation was a disaster, No parking and one of the streets near buy was closed. I had to circulate like 4 times, parked 2 blocks down and had to walk to the Market. I bought couple of scented candles, loaf of olive bread, 4 Croissants, dozen eggs, 4 beef Pupusas, fresh Sunflowers from their floral vendor, 2 regular size ground beef tacos with cheese and tomato from their taco stand, 2 Apricot preserves in a jar, got fresh berries. 5 Peaches, Strawberries, and blueberries, and one cup of decaf. Coffee to enjoy with my croissant. Place was clean, and dogs were very annoying being in the presence of food and people. They have dried fruit, nuts, few clothes, jewelry, and more.. A small pony ride with carousel in the back for kid's entertainment. Everything was overly priced and not worth paying the money for. You can get all that at your nearest grocery store for a lot more affordable prices. It was worth giving this place a try though.. I think I will stick to my Studio City Farmers market that is literally 5 minutes away from my house. They also don't have parking, but it is somewhat more manageable than this one was..Remaining food that doesn't sell, they make a donation to the nearest charities!

They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad.
