This year for my New Year's Resolution I told myself I was going to eat healthier and cook more and this is the best way for me to do that. Good Box Organics is not only convenient, with the food being delivered right to my door, but is entirely healthy as well. The owners Samantha and Mark started this business in 2010 and have a mission of creating a healthier future. The best part is they work with local farmers to get all their produce and find multiple ways to give back to the community. They also have their Support a School program where they donate 5% back from every box sold. They have different boxes to choose from and different sizes as well. Some boxes are fruits only and others include fruits and vegetables. I went with the half size fruit and vegetable box. Before delivery, you get an email of what is going to be inside the box and the best part for me is, it includes recipes of what you can make with the items in your box. My box included an avocado, pears, apples, oranges, broccoli, cilantro, pink chard, and lettuce. One of the recipes included Baked Broccoli Parmesan Fritters which I am definitely going to try out because I always need new ideas for meals with having two small children. The delivery fee for their boxes is $6.95 or you can pick up the boxes for free at many of their local pickup locations. The service area covers the greater Los Angeles Area , San Fernando Valley, Pasadena, and Conejo Valley so definitely something for everyone! read more

This is an incredible company. I say this as someone who works for it! I taught preschool with Sam's dad for years, and after watching her and Mark bring organic fruits and veggies to schools and families for years I switched from teaching and I working for Good Box because that's how much I believe in this company. The farmers are kind and good people. The produce is local, fresh, and can't be matched. The small team that makes this company work are AMAZING individuals. Sam and Mark are truly two of the kindest and most genuine people in my life. I couldn't recommend supporting a small local company more. I genuinely mean it. read more

We have loved our Good Box Organics bi-weekly deliveries! The produce is so fresh and there's always something new and interesting to try. Love the recipes they provide as well for using the produce in different ways. Every person I have interacted with at the company has been really lovely! And, it's an added bonus that they support schools as well! read more

Somehow I was sent and charged for a larger amount of fruit than I actually intended to order. I could have sworn I ordered the medium-sized fruit box, because I just wanted to try out the service, but the large was sent. Perhaps my fault. We were told that the hours of pickup were between 12-8:00 pm at Temple Akiba. My husband arrived around 7 pm to pick up the box and had a not-so-great experience speaking with a not-so-nice person through the intercom. He ended up having to leave empty-handed. Through email, we were told the fruit was put away and refrigerated by someone at the Temple, and we could pick it up the next day. Great. Moving forward, no harm, no foul. However, when we got the fruit home, it definitely did not feel worth the price of continuing the service. The emerald plums were great, but the purple plums were sour. The nectarines were not so great either. I also don't love that you cannot customize your boxes, because the box contained other fruits that I'm really not into. I loved the idea of using Good Life Organics, since I try to eat lots of fruit, but ended up canceling the service. read more

Pickup on Westside and it's always on time. Surprised some employees working at the Westside pickup don't know what this is! For my first pickup there was some confusion but the security guy let me in. Enjoying the fresh fruits and veggies in my box. Every week is different. I have gotten kale, cucumber, zucchini, avocado, etc. Got the promo fruit add-on once and there was a lot of fruit. read more

Best decision, hands down for the family. The freshest, tastiest, most gorgeous fruits + vegetables! Fun trying new foods and incorporating all of this nutrition into our diets. Easy to pause when needed or to switch box sizes to meet our needs each week. read more

I love them. I just couldn't do all the driving bc they don't deliver near me. The food is outstanding. I can't wait until they expand!!

Loved my experience receiving a fruit box! All of the softer fruits were perfectly ripe and had no bruises. Will buy again!

I love Good Box! As someone without a car, it's often hard for me to get high quality foods delivered to my home. With Good Box, I never have to worry about that - the seasonal fruits and veggies are always delicious and it's fun to get to try out new types of produce that I might not have thought to purchase on my own. The team is wonderful, the box is well worth it for what you pay, and I cannot recommend them enough! read more

10-star update! We are blessed each week with their big box of healthy flavorful produce. We eat all of it and love it. The site and service could not be better. Can't recommend them highly enough. I love this company. I thought I knew how great food tastes until I had GLO's food. It makes everything else seem bland in comparison. So much goodness each week! LOVE IT ALL! And their weekly email highlight info and recipes around each week's items are genuinely useful and inspiring! read more

Good Box Organics - Passion Fruit this week! Amazing. - Food Delivery Services Near Me

The box is much smaller than other options in the area. Like 50% smaller for the same price as others. The produce was ok looking, nothing special, small apples, small oranges, hard pears. There were multiple items in plastic (other boxes do zero plastic). I cancelled after our first box, wouldnt return or recommend. Lastly some strange old man asked me what i was doing on the property at pickup. My $31.99 box had: Head of kale 3 beets with greens Bunch of carrots with tops 1 lemon 1 red onion 1 hard green avocado 2 oranges 2 v. small apples 2 old pears A small ziploc of raisins(?!)) Does that comp out to you? It was $24 for the same list at whole foods. read more

We have been getting a weekly box through my daughter's school for almost her entire K-12 time. Still to this day, it is exciting to see what's in the box! The fruit and vegetables are always super fresh and yummy. I feel Good Life Organics has helped my family eat healthier over the years. I especially love the weekly newsletters that comes with the subscription. The recipes are tailored to the produce in the box and I have made many delicious meals because of it. Thank you for all you do for the community! read more

I have been receiving Good Life Organics boxes for about seven years now. At a certain point, there was no going back. The quality is exceptional. Everything tastes better from them than the supermarket. I can't even eat supermarket fruits and vegetables anymore, they are tasteless to me now. Additionally, it is a locally owned company run by amazing people. They care about their community and show it through their support. read more

We've been with Good Life Organics for more than a year and we really really REALLY appreciate and love all the fresh produce. The people are amazing as well, which makes a huge difference for the customer experience. Best fruit there is. I was a member of several different CSAs and Good Life Organics has the best unique varieties and fruit you can't get in a store. The incredible green plums, unique tangerines, and really special asian pears are just some of them. They are one of the best parts of living in the area. By far the best fruit I found anywhere. read more

We were very disappointed. Everything appeared to have been refrigerated for a long time and consequently looked tired and was tasteless. Moreover, our large mixed box was filled with two enormous fennel bulbs and there was less produce than there should have been. This was our first order and we cancelled our membership. Produce from the supermarket is far superior. read more

So far so good! I stopped Imperfect as they were pimping more products vs. produce...and eggs and meat and crap..fine...it's a choice...but Good Box is no nonsense, straightforward and the produce has been really good. It's only been 2 deliveries so far but everything was fresh and they're recipes were helpful. Fennel frond pesto??? Who knew? It's my new favorite thing and I don't have to throw away the fronds before I bake my fennel! read more

GLO not only helps our school but our family. I love my boxes, encourages us to eat healthier and fresher and to learn about a few I've never been exposed to. Highly recommended!!! GLO one of the boxes with the fewest intermediaries between farmer. Also, I stopped receiving other cooking and farm boxes due to all the waste! I can return their boxes at the school to be reused! We all win: local farmers, the company, my family and the environment. read more

I love always having the freshest fruits and veggies and supporting local farmers. Getting the box delivered is so much more convenient than finding time to go to the farmers market, and whoever is choosing their produce does an incredible job. They also share great ideas for dishes to prepare with the weekly selection, highly recommend giving it a try! read more

I recently picked up my first box. I opted to pick up from a local business since I'm not always home for delivery. So far impressed...no broken, or yellow leaves. The fruits are sweet & taste fresh. I'm excited to see what the next box brings. Also I appreciate their recipes section on their website read more

I love the variety and surprise factor of the box each week! I (very often) end up getting rid of store-bought lettuce because it doesn't stay fresh and the freshness of this produce was so obvious! It tastes like it all came straight from the farm. Can't wait for our next box! read more

GREAT quality, from local farmers, organic, delivered to a pickup spot near me...Have been receiving their boxes for ten years and have never looked back. Exactly what we need to be doing to help heal our planet and receive the best produce in return. Thank you, Samantha and Mark! read more

Always great fresh produce! Friendly service. Thanks to Good Box Organics we now eat very clean and healthy!!!

We initially tried it to support our preschool and now we've been using its weekly delivery for over a year. It is pricey but tastes really good, and convenient as well that you don't need to take the time to shop. We also like their weekly recipes and tips sent in email. read more

Food/Cost: (4/5) After some research into CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) options in the West LA area, my roommate and I decided to go with Good Life Organic's 9-pound Fruit & Vegetable Half Box ($25) every other week, to be picked up at a nearby elementary school. They also offer Full Boxes ($45) and even an All Fruit Box option. I almost wish they'd provide an All Vegetable Box option as well, but I suppose I still appreciate the fruit. The produce in the box is super fresh and straight off the farm and I like the items even better knowing that I'm supporting local, small farmers. Location & Service: (5/5) Good Life is one of lower priced options in the area, while still offering a full array of services and choices -- i.e. pick-up at one of many local sites (see their website for a list) v. delivery for a small fee; veggie + fruit v. fruit only boxes; full box v. half box; weekly box v. bi-weekly box. Pick-up is super easy. For me, I just go to the elementary school a few blocks away and give my name to the site coordinator. She hands me the box and that's it. Those looking for more convenience can go with the delivery option. I particularly like the weekly emails regarding the storage of and healthful ways to prepare the items of the week. Super informative and useful. Overall: (4.5/5) Yes, the cost of joining a CSA and acquiring produce this way is more expensive than purchasing similar items from your grocery store. However, the added benefits of going the CSA route definitely outweigh the increase in price -- you get a wide variety of fresh, organic items; you support your local farms; and you get an added element of fun and surprise each time you open your box! Moreover, Good Life really goes the extra step by making the whole process a breeze from ordering, to pick up, to even helping with storage and preparation through their informative emails. Love it! read more

We got the organic box of fruits and vegetables. Not the best quality. Celery is old. Broccoli almost rot. Pumpkins smell not fresh and taste bad. Despite the premium pricing. read more

I can't say enough for the quality of this CSA. I did a lot of research for a CSA in the SFV and opted for Good Life, and I'm so glad I did. Quality of the produce is great, and I swear my grocery bill has gone DOWN and my diet has become much healthier because I started planning all my meals around my delivery box. I loved the balance between variety and seasonal consistency. For instance, the way greens were a staple during the winter made me learn a lot more options for cooking with greens than I would have if I'd only chosen them as an occasional side dish, but at the same time there were enough "treats" (an occasional mango! different types of pears! super early asparagus!) that even my teenage son never got bored. I ended up opting for the family sized box for just myself and my son. It was enough produce that a week's worth of meals only needed a little supplementation from pantry staples like pasta and beans. Our main proteins became legumes, eggs, and dairy and meat maybe once a week or less. I love cooking and really enjoyed using my weekly delivery to find new recipes by just internet searching for various ingredients. We found ourselves eating much better, much less expensively, much lower on the food chain. Win-win-win! One final note: customer service, from my delivery guy to phone/email, has been unfailingly personable and accomodating. Really a first-rate company. I'm moving away from LA and one of the things I truly will miss most is Good Life Organics. read more

My family has been enjoying my weekly GLO organic veggie and fruit box for many many years now, starting at my children's elementary school which was a group pick up location (and school "friendraiser"), and now that they are older, it's delivered to my doorstep, like a weekly treasure to discover. Our family loves how fresh and tasty the seasonal produce is and we also discovered *new* produce that we would've never tried without the box (recently became a new fan of roasted shishito peppers yum yum!). It's great there's also a weekly email newsletter with inspiration, information, and recipes. The company owners couldn't be more passionate and enthusiastic about what they do and their mission. read more

Simply the best! I used to get an organic box from a larger company, but Good Life Organics is so superior in every way. My delivery guy (Danny!) is the nicest, they email amazing and EASY recipes for every delivery, and the fruits and vegetables are incomparably delicious. Friends always tell me that my recipes are delicious, but I know that it comes down to the produce! I love knowing that I'm helping local families and local farms... Happy customer :) read more

I searched all over the internet for a reputable CSA and came across Good Life Organics. I am so happy that I discovered them because I no longer trust the produce at my local grocery store. Now I can truly tell that the fruits and veggies I am feeding my family are organic! This is evident in the taste and look of the produce. The blueberries are the best I have ever had! The strawberries are sweeter than any of the ones I've ever purchased at the grocery store. The avocados are perfect and so yummy. I have some peaches on my desk and they smell delicious!!! The produce isn't jumbo sized or genetically modified. I'm also glad that I don't receive the same things in my box all the time. So far I have gotten a nice variety in all of my farm boxes. I drive 20 miles to pick up my box and I will continue to do so because this place is totally worth it!!! I love Good Life Organics! read more

I have always wanted to be that family who ate healthy and when my husband and I had our first daughter, the idea of eating healthy became a huge challenge. These are some of my reasons for liking Good Life Organics: 1. CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) who doesn't want to give money to a local farm! That should be a good reason enough. 2. Delivers to your door with a small delivery fee. That's a plus with a child. No screaming baby to the grocery store and planning your day around that fiasco! Why not utilize that time figuring out what you're going to make or relax til your groceries are delivered? Just an amazing concept. 3. All produces were beautifully packaged. No dent on my fruits, no mold on my grapes. Everything was fresh and we wished we got more of the stuff that were boxed for us. I'm telling you! It's like CHRISTMAS morning :) 4. Another plus, no wax on the apples delivered. That is huge for me. read more

Good Box Organics - Gorgeous, fresh produce delivered to my house for my family! - Food Delivery Services Near Me

Great produce, reliable delivery - overall good value for the money. I have been very pleased with the amount of produce that is in the box. Sometimes, when I do add-ons, it ends up being too much! Their fruit is always fresh and delicious. I love when they send unusual vegetables so that we can try them. My favorite was fava beans! read more

I LOVE getting my bi-weekly fruit/veggie deliveries. The produce is ALWAYS fresh and you can really taste the difference from store bought vegetables. I use some of the produce to make fresh baby food for my daughter and she loves it. It can be a bit of a splurge, but it is well worth it if you are trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. I totally recommend! At this point, I am considering changing over to the weekly delivery because my family enjoys it so much. read more

Moments w JD: "My Good Life Organics Story" The DD Horns holmies, Ventriloquists, Juggler and the rest of our bedraggled musical crew of Misfits was having a party at a chicken farm in SFV and I rolled out w my spoiled Son, Bubbus, to support so many dudes who have supportmed me over the years, creatively, from a producing and composing standpoint and of course w all my ODs, etc I was chilling with the chickens and purple basil out in the yard just mindin my own and because I'm a horribly irresponsible father I let the Tazmanian Devil of my life run loose. NExt thing I know, I'm being ushered into the bathroom where Buddy has bitten one of the proprietors of the better than Good Life ORganics(.org). I gave them some tips on how to (ad)dress the wound (activated charcoal - also good for hemmrohoids) and as I spent the next couple hours with these innovative organic farming and history changers, I discovered their passion for raising plants and animals, the beauty of their souls and the goodness in their hearts. Sparkles (my Chef) had already gotten me off of meat along with Guru (my Guru), but someone like me who spins very close to flying off the planet needs a lot of support so i signed up through farmsignup.com (or Call 818-614-8131, email community@goodlifeorganics.org) where your order comes seasonally, but you can also make requests and they will do their best (i'm more into veggies than fruitsies). Lastly, I'm very proud of Buddy because I told him to bite someone important at the Chicken Farm while we were riding in Horse Car on the way out there (hahaha awesome) and, per usual, my Master Plan was fulfilled.
