So I want to start off by saying not every experience is always great. The first time I had a bad experience here I kind of let it go but this is the second time a frustrsting situation has happened. I was studying for multiple hours and decided I wanted to grab a snack and usually the deli food is very good and well priced. I went up to the deli and began to order and while she was grabbing my potato wedges she grabbed the smallest oldest looking pieces there. She then continued to LIFT UP THE GREASE PANEL AND GRAB POTATOS SOAKING IN GREASE. This is mildly frustrating and it was completely inedible. If people aren't going to treat costumers with kindness I don't think they should be working there at all especially when i've applied to this location multiple times and been rejected and KNOW I have better service then this. read more

How hard is it to make a sandwich? Really? Not everyone likes bacon, ham or pepperoni mixed with their turkey. So when I asked if a sandwich other than what was sitting in pre-made piles in the case could be made, I didn't expect it to be such a tall order. I simply wanted turkey and cheese. The woman I was speaking to finally went to ask another worker after staring at me like I asked her to perform brain surgery, if my request was possible. I kid you not, this woman walks around the back of the counter holding a sandwich with ungloved hands, then finally comes up to me and asks if it's OK. I was never asked what type of bread I preferred, and the turkey looked like bologna. I politely declined, because I was honestly expecting her to come back with an answer and options, but nope. After seeing her flippantly carrying it around with bare hands and the meat looking like some over processed tube meat, I just couldn't eat it. My husband then overhears the worker and the "sandwich maker" talking rudely about me declining the sandwich. How unprofessional. Martin's needs to do better at training employees, and if you're going to have a deli, maybe understand not everyone likes the same thing. Many people can't or don't eat pork....why add it to EVERYTHING? Making a sandwich isn't rocket science, neither is customer service....but evidently those two things are more difficult for some. read more

My husband and I recently moved to the area and stopped in to eat at the salad bar before shopping for our weekly groceries. All of the lights were still on the salad bar and I got the gloves for my hands and proceeded to get my food while my husband excused himself to the restroom. He returned a minute later and got gloves to get his food. At which time a man an woman came up and removed 3 spoons. My husband asked if he could get his food really quick as I had already gotten mine. He was told no they had already removed the spoons. What? The food is still right there and I would just be a minute. They chose to tell us that it had closed at 3. When we returned to our truck it was 3:08. We would have been 2 loyal customers with a large family. Instead we are 2 people who will never walk in your store again. read more

What an incredible salad and hot food bar for lunch! Very fresh - the bar itself was well stocked and attended (most of the time - she kept leaving to refill items). Sounds as though she does the prep in the freezer area! Very fresh. I wasn't looking for warm food, just a salad - but I got a side of alfredo pasta and it was delicious. I'd highly recommend this place for a stellar lunch - the mezzanine seating area upstairs was very nice, attended and also very clean. Great lunch, great value. read more

Nice supermarket with super friendly staff. Martin's reminds me a bit of Wegman's back east: deli and salad bar, fun bakery, lots of the typical supermarket grocery items. There is also a Starbucks inside this Martin's. I noticed a fairly large wine/liquor/beer section as well. The only gripe I have is concerning the salad bar area: there are SO many flies in Winona Lake/Warsaw that the food should be covered better. I don't like to think about what may have already touched the salad....however, for a grocery store, Martin's is pretty marvellous. :) read more

My wife purchased chicken this evening for dinner and wow! Someone at Martins has no clue how to fry chicken. The chicken my wife purchased tasted like it was soaked overnight in salt. As if that wasn't bad enough the crust on the chicken was hard as a rock. The combination of both made it impossible to eat. read more

This place is an excellent source of fresh veggies, reasonably price booze and plenty of fresh food. I loved the fresh made popcorn and ended up taking home 2 bags of the cinnamon roll. I loved the ready to eat options and bought sandwiches twice and both were very good. The lay out of this massive store works well and even though I am not local, I found that it was a great selection of food for someone that loved to cook. I didn't have the option to cook much, but the meat department was extensive and very reasonably priced. read more

Love their cafe with free wifi! It's a great place to get some work done, have meetings and grab lunch from their salad bar or coffee from their Starbucks. It gets a little warm upstairs, so dress in layers! read more

This is one of my favorite places to shop in town. The staff is super friendly and helpful when you need help finding a particular item. The selection of their wines and liquors rivals most small liquor stores. The deli salads are better than any I have ever had and they have a wide variety to choose from. The sushi chef is amazing - what they have to offer is better than the restaurants in the area. The bakery items are always fresh. They might be a little high priced on some things but if you shop for the sale items and use coupons, as I do, the trip is worth it. read more

you can beat the salad bar that they offer. So many options you can eat a different one every day!! Great "spirits" department and great variety of meats, veggies and canned items. Little pricey at times but watch the sales ads and you can't go wrong! read more

Absolutely a delightful place to shop ... Watch the sales for items that are a real bargain. Great variety and excellent quality meats and prepared foods. An in house Starbucks is there PLUS an AMAZING salad bar with about everything you can imagine. Salads are priced by the pound. read more
