You place the order at the counter, and you can eat in the small dining room in the adjacent room, or a few tables outside. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, a panini sandwich and a Caprese salad. They were both excellent. The balsamic vinegar was delicious. There are many gourmet products that can be purchased. The wine was delicious. They serve gelato too. I came to Martoni's Gourmet for a quick bite to eat after grabbing some coffee on main street. I appreciated the inside as perfectly conveys a sense of wholesomeness characteristic of authentic Italian cafes. The mint green tables outside and the bright red flowers, umbrella, and storefront created a perfect, aesthetically pleasing contrast. The best part about this cafe was the food! I was really satisfied with their panini consisting of ham and mozzarella pressed onto ciabatta bread. A combination of melted cheese, smooth and buttery, with the crunch of the ciabatta made for a delicious meal! Even though the panini sandwich was a bit pricey and took a bit long to make, I would have forgiven these points unless it wasn't for the slightly poor service and the low morale. Even though my boyfriend ordered for both of us and was ready to pay, with me present, the staff member thought our order was one I had made on my own as a completely separate customer. We ended up waiting more time than he had to because of this mistake. It's not a huge deal, but this interaction makes me wary of coming back as I would prefer a smoother customer service experience. read more

So I happened to be in the village and noticed the sign said they now have beer,wine & Prosecco. It was my day off and it was beautiful out so I sat outside with a glass of wine. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Very relaxing! they took over the space next door and have a cute little wine bar as well as seats outside in addition to their store. The toasted bread was hard as a rock, which ruined the sandwich, even though chicken was ok. Sourpuss behind the counter, should have been an indication to leave. This little Italian gem is a great alternative to the crowded, expensive restaurants in town. With a small bar, dining inside & out, and gelato & homemade, fresh cannoli, you'll feel like you just walked into a little Roman cafe. While you won't find a full restaurant menu here, what you will find are several options done very well. The menu features great salads, and both hot (caldo) & cold (Freddo) paninis. And all kinds? You can even build your own! On the "sides" menu, the meatballs are delicious, and there are ravioli and other small tasty appetizer like items. There's also usually some soup too. You can pair this all with Ninos very fine selection of Italian wines or beer. After your meal, don't forget the gelato, or an espresso with homemade cannoli (best I've had on Long Island). I can't believe how many times I've walked by this spot and never realized it was there until I recently came back from a trip from Italy and I was on a mission to find good espresso, great pasta and olive oil to help cure my nostalgia. Enter this beautiful spot called Martoni's! It has seating outside and half the shop is like a grocery store with special items from Italy and the other half is more of a sit down restaurant. They are so sweet, we chatted about my trip to Italy and they told me their favorite pastas and other treats they get from Italy. I grabbed some pasta to cook- did not disappoint! And the espresso hit the spot! They also have delicious gelato. I'll be stopping by here more often for my gelato and espresso fixes and to try out their food items as well. read more

Nice actually (if I was rating solely on food, I'd give 4-stars, though I hadn't tried more than 1-dish on the menu) and the panini's looked awesome, but unfortunately just another spot on Main Street (Northport Harbor Deli is another one) in Northport ridiculously overcharging (new) customers at an unbelievably high rate and everyone should have the right to know about this. Call out these people. $27 for an antipasto salad ($15) with chicken (they charged me an extra $7) and a can of Diet Coke (apparently $5). I wasn't even given the option to tip. Lol I called them out on the menu board. It said "$3.50, add chicken", he said "that's an old menu". Come to find out, he tried to double charge a friend of mine on a Grubhub order he had already completed. People who run their business as such don't realize: if you charge customers a fair and reasonable price for quality food, they'll most likely become your most loyal customers- or at least I will. It's just bad business, not to mention wrong. You guys lost a customer who could have very well become a regular. So long. Farewell. Not only is Martoni my go to lunch spot in Northport village, but I have found so many unique treats there that just aren't at Italian supermarkets like Giunta's. The store itself is cozy and stuffed with everything from handmade pasta to imported cheeses to obscure candy. In terms of their panini, the quality and flavors match the ones I've had in Italy. I've gotten both the Carmine and Cotto panini with a cold soda from the fridge. Both the hot and cold paninis are perfect for a nice summer picnic in the park. Additionally, their prices are better than New York Panini in Huntington, and I honestly think Martoni is the better store. The staff is also wonderful. Nino, the owner, will often strike up a conversation with you, and the different cashiers are all sweet and help you find whatever you're looking for. I can't seem to recommend Martoni enough to everyone I meet. I intend to try everything they offer, and hope you will too! read more

We just came back with our 2 paninis and sopressata and must say these are the best paninis we've ever had. The fresh and imported ingredients that we had and that crispy bread really sent it over the top! Can't wait to go back and try some more of their specialties. Sopressata was exactly as it should be. We especially like the sugar free ones and cannot find them anywhere else (except online and then you have to pay shipping and wait) Extensive pastas from different regions of Italy and many GF pasta and products. The food is delicious and made with care and quality ingredients in a cafe that has a family small business feel to it. The cafe is filled with imported goods from Italy for purchase. The gelato is creamy, flavorful, and amazing! But what makes this place special are some of the staff I've met, especially Christina (Chrissy?) and her daughter. They were so friendly, helpful with answering questions, and accommodating. I was going to be in the area for several days for my daughter's medical appointments across the street. We would have a short break each day for lunch and I had wanted to try out the cafe beforehand. Christina told me I could call in my order earlier so they'd have it ready for our lunch break. She was also very sweet to my daughter and we talked about mom stuff. After that first visit, we've been back twice and expect to go there in the future. read more

This is a little gem that opened in Northport not long ago. They have absolutely the best gelato I have ever had, it's imported straight from Rome. Many flavors and all are outstanding. They have imported coffee and homemade pastries where you can sit at a table and have a snack. They also have Lasagna and other goodies to eat. I just wanted to stop by Yelp and update my review for Martoni. It's been several days since my first review and I've actually been back there several times. I bought more pasta, more basil sauce, and more Taralli (those are the yummy turmeric bread sticks I mentioned in my previous review). I bought more turmeric Taralli and also tried the hemp and pepper flavors, all to great delight. I also bought some candies that were delicious. I've now tried the gelato in Madagascar vanilla, chocolate, salted caramel, hazelnut, and strawberry. I've also tried the raspberry sorbet. All of these flavors are outrageous and you really cannot go wrong whatever your choose, but the hazelnut is still my favorite. The service at Martoni's can't be beat. Mark and Chris are so wonderful, such nice guys that are so easy to talk to and so helpful. I'm looking forward to trying their olive oil the next time I'm in need. My family and I are becoming mildly obsessed with this place! read more
