Every summer my family and I have gone to Marvel ice cream parlor! It's always consistently great there's something for everyone. It brings back such good memories and they take your picture and put it on their window in Lido and now they open on the boardwalk and you can even get the ice cream and take it home and buy it by the court I used to bring it to my mother in New Jersey years ago. I'm going to attempt to make this a super fast review because there's not much to say here. It's Marvel. Done. Okay, maybe not that fast because I should mention that this is in fact the good ol' Marvel you know and love to devour after a day at the beach. Except it's not the location along Lido Blvd that often gives you a pound of anxiety trying to park in their busy lot before finally getting your frozen sweet treat. Instead, this second Marvel spot is snuggled into the Long Beach Boardwalk and honestly it feels like it's always been there. A vintage ice cream shoppe-look from the outside with the same setup of window ordering found at the OG storefront. What's also the same is the quality and deliciousness you get with each cup or cone of Marvel. My trip to this beachy location actually came on Father's Day where I indulged in a chocolate vanilla swirl dipped in a peanut butter bonnet. Even on a not-so-hot day that didn't actually involve basking on the beach, this cone of tastiness still hit the spot, as it always does. Overall, you can't go wrong with Marvel no matter which location you choose to visit. Though to be honest, perhaps this Long Beach Boardwalk setup is just a little more inviting when you can grab your ice cream right off of the beach, turn around, and stare out into the ocean. Well, maybe this wasn't as quick of a review as I intended, but it still got to the (eventual) point that Marvel is the best. read more

First time here and wow!!! Their soft serve was sooooo good! I don't know how else to describe it, but the soft serves felt like it had so much more flavor than other soft serves I've had. Soft serve is my favorite type of icecream! I got the pistachio with rainbow sprinkles and my son got the cherry dip vanilla. Behind the counter working were young adults probably in their late teens? They were super friendly and nice, i even took a bit of time bevause my 3 year old didn't know what he wanted and they were super patient! Truly the softest of soft serves. I got the classic vanilla with rainbow sprinkles and it was absolutely delicious. They have a few tables on their deck but since it's conveniently located right on Long Beach boardwalk you can easily grab and go. My only recommendation is that you get a cup along with your cone because this ice cream will definitely melt faster than you can lick. read more

Pretty basic, but delicious. Very creamy and sweet. The hot fudge melted it just enough to make a nice mixture on the outside. We enjoyed our treats on the benches not far from Marvel. If you're not a local resident the Long Beach guest-stopo charge you $15 to enter the beach. The Board walk is open to the public for free. I couldn't decide between an ice cream sandwich and soft serve but ended up going for a strawberry soft serve. They are able to twists for certain pairs of flavors too. They offer various toppings and I opted for the marvel mix which had everything in it- sprinkles, chocolate chip etc. The wind was unfortunately pretty strong and blew the toppings off my ice cream. It was a battle of Stephanie vs wind. I had to eat the ice cream as quickly as possible. Came here on a Sunday after dinner. The place had a line so we knew it would be good. The prices seemed a little high but the portions are huge. A small is definitely enough for two. I wanted a cone with salted caramel sauce but the guy at the window said he had to put it in a cup and could put a cone on top and I'm glad bc the caramel sauce is hot and melts the ice cream so holding it in a cone would be a mess. Extremely disappointed. Took the grandkids there Saturday evening and after spending $40+, the cones and cups were completely melted in minutes. On a cool night that is unacceptable. The brown bonnets had the chocolate sliding off before we got to the benches. Had to ask for cups since the ice-cream cone was running down my grandsons arm.
