I realize appointments take precedence, but pain being addressed immediately is a good thing. Anne-Marie (?) at the desk was super helpful and though their system had a bit of difficulty (they recently switched to a new system), I was eventually registered. Dr. Altman was fantastic. Inquisitive and comforting as well as efficient, was in and out in less than an hour even as a walk-in, plus a follow-up a week and a half later. Though no big gauze pads, so had to do with a make-shift one. And on top of that, prescription send directly to the right pharmacy.

Reception is a nightmare, care is an even bigger nightmare, they rush you along like they don't care and allow very narrow windows for asking questions or expressing concerns, and there is extremely poor communication from staff to patients. I'd really encourage looking elsewhere for care if you are looking for anything more than basic cosmetic dermatological treatments, there are so many quality offices in this general area and surrounding counties. Don't make the same mistake I did.

He said that she was very thorough and professional. At his request, she removed many growths on his back that were not cancerous, but had grown larger & darker over the years. Now he's developed more, so he's returning to her. This time I'm going also since I've never had a dermatological exam. There is a parking lot right in front of the building on South Ave in Westfield. I will post an update after my initial appointment.

Unreal how badly this business has deteriorated by being managed by a third party company called Schweiger Group. They don't answer their phones, emails, fax requests, zoom meeting appointments, etc. If you have nothing but time in your hands, then go for it, otherwise don't waste your hours trying to communicate with these people. One time they ran out of numbing cream...I cried the whole way home. I also had question about acne scarring, she prescribed me four different medications to deal with the acne first. I had maybe ten little scars I wanted to lighten but she gave me enough medication for a teenager with severe acne. Finally on the day on my operation to remove my keloids (two separate appointment$$$$), she didn't even know which ear the operation was supposed to be done on. Never going back, best advice is to stay away.

I was very nervous about visiting a doctor's office during the COVID-19 pandemic. The doctors and…read morestaff at Dermatology Consultants of Northern Jersey made me feel very comfortable in the waiting room and examination room by spacing out patients' appointments, sending the new patient intake forms to me to complete prior to my arrival at the office, removing seating from the small waiting room, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring patients and staff wear adequate personal protective equipment while in the office. Dr. Popkin called me in to see him within a few minutes of my on-time arrival and spent plenty of time with me to evaluate the specific reason for my visit and to perform a thorough exam for other skin issues. After the exam, he explained my options for treatment, answered any questions I had about the treatment, painlessly removed the item in question, and called with the results of the biopsy when he said he would. I will definitely return to Dr. Popkin for any future dermatology issues.
