The other day, I got stuck in mud in the middle of farmland. I called Marx for a tow because I've seen them frequently in my 30 years here in south county. I was about 1000 feet from pavement and when the tow truck driver came, he told me he couldn't help me, I needed a recovery vehicle for a tow. I was like they say "up a river without a paddle". On Friday, February 20th, I turned into a Walmart parking lot to get back to the 101 entrance south when I hit a curb and my right front tire popped. I called AAA who reassured me a tow truck would arrive about 50 minutes later since it was rush hour. I wasn't able to give very good directions but 5 minutes later, Armando from Marx Towing showed up. He quickly changed the tire to my spare and reassured me that driving back to my home in San Luis Obispo would be just fine with the spare. Luckily, it wasn't a donut. I'm very impressed with Armando's professional and personable manner and how knowledgeable he was. And I was very reassured that driving back to SLO with the spare would be fine. And I was. Rip off tow company they charged three times as much as any other tow company around $1300 for something any other tow company would of done for $350 - $400 end up finding out only after I called 5or 6other tow company's they all agreed for the sirvices they rendered and the amount they charged no one should ever use this company unless you want to be robbed blind read more

I broke down on highway 101 in my Ford F350 on Monday January 18th 2016, with my 5 & 3 year old boys. AAA said the driver would be there in 40 mins, he was there in 10 mins. Since my daughter was asleep in her car seat, he offered to drive us back to our apt in Palo Alto 15 mins away; otherwise I would have had to wake her up and transfer her and her seat to a Lyft. I, along with four other people concerning a stolen vehicle that was recovered were told if the vehicle was released there would NOT be a charge except $95 gate fee on a Saturday was totally blown away when all of a sudden there was a $100 per day fee adding up to $1,100 to get the vehicle out. Needing it We paid but am going to dispute this and if not settled will take to small claims court. Totally uncalled for and unprofessional. My name is Adam and I work for Dick's Towing and Auto Repair in Prunedale. I was dispatched to a motor club tow on Bolsa Rd in Gilroy. Once on scene I realized there was no shoulder or turn out to work in and that I would be loading this vehicle in the traffic lane. Vehicle speed down Bolsa Rd to avoid Highway 101 and I knew I would have to watch my back even more as I was in a curve that you couldn't see around. Like an angel Hazel came around the corner enroute to a seperate call and immediately turned her emergency lights on and blocked traffic so I could do my job much more safely. I have had a terrible experience with these guys, at first they seem like very professional people with unmatched trucks and equipment. But later when I had to pick up my car from their tow yard, i found an unpleasant surprise...My documents and business papers had been shifted around (most likely went through them) and when I was completing paper work they cheated me on the amount i was to pay. Instead of 11 days in the tow yard, it read 13.5 days on the invoice and receipt. About an hour later after arguing and telling the man in charge that was simply unethical and just bad business, he refused to correct the days and the amount stating that 'it was how CA laws and regulations work and we do business around here' If there'd be a 0 rating, Marx towing would receive that from me. Well you have been warned, most towing companies DO NOT do this type of shady dealings and if I were you I'd look else where for a reliable and HONORABLE towing company. -Ray read more

Unfortunately needed to be towed today. We're on route to Portland, Oregon from Palm Springs, Ca. and our car just broke down. A highway patrol officer (also friendly, by the way) called a tow truck for us. Luckily, he called Marx Towing. They were knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I was on a business trip in Gilroy and my car had to be serviced/towed to Capital Subaru in San Jose. I called AAA (5:45am) and requested a flatbed. I wanted to be at the service department by 7:30. Yesterday my husband and I were in a car accident in Gilroy (we live out of the area and were in a rental car). We called our rental company, they called for a tow truck for us, and when Andrew from Marx towing arrived he was beyond helpful, patient and waited with us for quite some time while his boss and our rental company were trying to figure out what to do with the car (the local rental agency office was closed, so they were trying to figure out where to take our car and where we needed to go to get a replacement). Horrible service! The drivers are NOT mechanics and have NO reason to be under your hood nor arguing with the customer about what he thinks is wrong with the car. I called for a tow ONLY. My mom and I were waiting for the tow truck while my dad was across the street and the driver "Isaac" was very insulting towards us. My dad is a retired mechanic so we knew it was not what Isaac was thinking it was. We were of course very upset about this. Isaac then got permission from his supervisor to drop our car and refuse service. I have been trying to get my car towed for 2 days! read more

On a trip home yesterday from San Francisco with our high school daughter when car broke down outside of Gilroy. Had to get to Southern California. Not only were the Marx guys professional, they were kind and considerate given our circumstances. They arrived in 30 minutes! Unheard of anywhere else! I thought oh no this willl take a long time on this hot day and there were probably lots of calls before me!!!!! Write a review Isaac of Marx Towing saved me from one of the most frightening experiences I've ever had. I am a middle-aged woman, and was driving home from San Francisco to Los Angeles. My car broke down on a dark stretch of road, what I now know was south of Gilroy. Pitch black and cold, low cell phone battery, I couldn't even tell the dispatcher where I was. Isaac found me, figured out what was wrong, had me wait in the warm tow truck, and loaded up my car. He called ahead to a reliable mechanic who would be able to fix the car the next day, and asked him to wait for us to arrive before closing. Then he took me to a clean, safe, and inexpensive place where I could stay while waiting. I honestly can't say enough with regard to how well I was taken care of. Last month, I lost my car keys at a family get-together in Gilroy and I called AAA for assistance. Getting a new key was out of the question given the time of day (6pm) and the establishment where the celebration was located would be closing at 7. I had no option, but to get myself towed home to Vallejo where my spare was, and because I had family members who still needed a ride home. 20 minutes after placing the AAA call, Marx Towing sent driver Ricky Stewart with a truck that could fit my guests and I, and we started the long trek home. Mr. Stewart was a great person to have on this trip. While my family slept on the drive home, he and I talked the entire 2 hour drive. He made sure I found the spare key when I got home and that my family and I were safe. Thank you, Ricky, for a great ride home, and Marx Towing, you've got a nice team of drivers working with you. My "low tire" indicator lit up yesterday as I pulled into Plaza Gas in Gilroy. After contacting AAA, Jesus and (I think?) Joshua showed up within 10 minutes, installed my spare, and I was on my way to get the tire repaired within a half hour. They were both absolute sweethearts. Later on I realized I had no idea where they had stored my tool kit, so I called Marx and within a few moments I was connected with one of the guys who helped me earlier. He guided me through my ignorance of my own truck's storage system (well, in 9 years I never had a flat!!) and sure enough, everything was where it was supposed to be. I contacted Jim at Marx Towing to relocate a 20' shipping container. Due to a variety of circumstances, Jim couldn't do the relocation the morning of the transfer. However, Jim made arrangements with Bracco's Towing (Morgan Hill) to do the job. Bracco's Towing (Nick) showed up at the location on time and proficiently loaded the container onto the flatbed truck.
