    Big Mary spicy chicken burger
    Shaan A.

Mary Brown's is really good! The store looks brand new and there's plenty of space for social distancing inside. Ordered the Big Mary special on Monday ($3.99). I got the spicy and regular version. Spicy was definitely spicy, but I personally preferred the regular. The batter is nice and light and the chicken is still crispy and tasty. It was a little heavy in mayo but overall really good! I'll definitely be back to try more in the future!

I'd take this over Popeyes chicken sandwich for sure. The fried chicken is juicier and seasoned potato wedges over fries anyday. They also have gravy to accompany ur taters. Portion is fine, pretty quickly made, tasted good too Store: woodbine and highway 7 location. Interior: spacious and modern If they add grilled chicken I might try, so far only chick fil a with a decent grilled chicken sandwich atm.

3 1/2* They had an opening special - 2 pcs for $3.99 - so gave it a try. Service was very pleasant and efficient. We had to wait a bit for the order, but with the special on, there was a lot of people. Proper Covid practices were maintained. I ordered spicy chicken. This just meant they sprinkled hot sauce on it before serving. I received 1 piece with the sauce on top and the 2nd piece with no sauce. This wasn't a major issue. I would probably stick with the regular next time. The chicken had a good flavour and crispness. The fries were also good even though a little sparse. Fried chicken is not something I would normally have, but I would have this again.

Tried Mary brown's chicken 3-4 times now. This review is about my last 2 visits. Ordered the festive or holiday special. First pic is the single and next pic is the family pack. Firstly, I would like to commend the service, I don't know about the other reviews but on all my visits I am greeted very courteously by the cashier and even I suppose the manager. I am always greeted cheerfully upon entry and upon leaving. That in itself is amazing. 5 stars for that. I only downgraded the review to 3 stars because of the chicken and wedges. I found them to be overly salted. The flavours however are right and the chicken is not greasy. Definitely better than Popeyes. ( sorry Popeyes lovers). I find that franchisees chicken to be overly overly overly greasy. Again onto Mary brown's, it is at best average and I would come back if craving for a fried chicken fixing. Also would be back for the service being exceptional. Nothing extraordinary but definitely a come visit again place.

I was on my way to Chipotle and noticed this place was open. I was not greeted when I walked in, as the staff were too busy talking to someone they knew. I decided to order a 2 piece combo and a spicy chicken sandwich combo. The lady suggested I order a small gravy. I also ordered a side of pickle chips. The chicken sandwich was really small. It only has sauce and 2 pickles. The bread bun was nice & soft. The chicken was spicy and tasted fine. The taters were more like seasoned wedges. They were ok, nothing spectacular. The pickle chips were not very good and at $3.69, were a waste of money. The gravy was bad tasting and much too salty to the point of bring inedible. The fried chicken is very average. The best part of the meal was the coleslaw. With so many Fried chicken places around, this is not a place that I would frequent.

This new Mary Brown's Markham location opened a few months ago. I've selected the 2 Snacks for $6.99 special; 2-piece crispy chicken twist, sidekick sweet heat sandwich. My choice of sauce was spicy mayo for the twist. Service was friendly and courteous. The meal was ready in about 7 minutes. I decided to sit outdoors at one of 4 tables even though indoor dining was allowed. There was a booth with seating for 6, window counter view seats or individual tables inside. I love MB chicken for its unique flavour! Then again, I pretty well love any fried chicken.

LUNCH Was heading over to chipotle's like some other reviews and saw this. Luckily I didn't check the previous reviews on yelp yet and hooked myself up with a spicy big Mary sandwich combo. Service was quick and smooth. The cashier was super polite and professional , perhaps they read the low reviews and adjusted? Haha power of yelp is amazing! The sandwich was legit, chicken was crispy and nicely portioned. Also wasn't overly greasy. It had a nice kick to it too. Came with a side of wedges that were also quite tasty and a drink of your choice. Sorry Coke fans only Pepsi here. I would definitely come back to grab and enjoy a big Mary again if I'm in the hood. Maybe on a Monday with that promotion they got. To the low reviewers, perhaps come back and give them another shot. Soft openings are always a hit or miss. Keep up the good work guys! Keep it crispy!

I've tried Mary Brown's twice at this location - once when they had their grand opening with the $3.99 special for two pieces of chicken and potato wedges and another time I had it for take-out through SkipTheDishes. Overall, the chicken is very flavourful and the meat is fresh and tender. I tried both their potato wedges and fries and I would definitely recommend the wedges over the fries. The fries were completely soggy inside the takeout box by the time I got home. The wedges are crispy but at times too salty for my liking. The combos are very expensive compared to other fast-food fried chicken establishments so I would only visit here every now and then if there was a deal here. One thing I really liked was that for my take-out order through SkipTheDishes, I was able to pick up my order through an electronic locker (kind of like what Amazon offers) by inputting my order number on the machine. It makes things much faster so that I didn't have to wait in line to get my take-out order that was already complete and ready for pick-up.

I can't believe how big this place is. Mary browns has the best chicken and is Canadian. You can choose between either regular or spicy. I love the corn on the side. The chicken was Cooked perfectly, not too hard or soft.

The burger was delicious. I am usually a fan of the chicken which I had at other locations but I feel like because this is a new location, their quality is much better than usual. The service was also very nice and the food was fast. The chicken was juicy and the size was very large for a sandwich. I also like the fact that the app has rewards points which makes the purchased more affordable

I'd then sit in my car and eat before heading home. I did it well before COVID-19 was a thing. I still eat in my car these days, especially when I'm hangry. This restaurant's location hasn't changed. However, it now has two lanes that end up converging by the time you hit the first drive-thru window. I came here on a Friday night. I pulled out my McD's app to provide a code to collect points. I felt like a quarter pounder with cheese combo and got one. I got regular fries and a Diet Coke, which seem to be my usual order as of late. The woman at the drive-thru was nice. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. My drink came out first, followed by my food in a paper bag. I thanked her and happily drove home without cursing at any bad drivers. My quarter pounder with cheese hit the spot. It was yummy. My fries looked a bit droopy and sad, as if they wanted to be potato contortionists when they grew up. However, they tasted yummy and salted nicely despite their soggy appearance. My drink washed everything down. It was icy cold and didn't taste watered down. It was nice returning here to relive memories being a regular McD's customer. It has improved since I was last here. I'd return when I'm in the area again. (54)

The crème brûlée doughnut was a nice treat. Though I wouldn't come to McDonald's just to order it, I do think if you're curious, it's probably worth it. I felt that the maple iced and caramel filled doughnut as well as the apple fritter and Boston cream doughnuts were similarly delicious. I don't know that it really stacks up against any speciality shop or even Tim Hortons but I would say it was worth the price. Similarly, though I don't typically order them, I tried a selection of their smoothies and actually found them quite pleasant too. The real star was their peach passion fruit smoothie. I would definitely order this again. It was sweet, tangy, and just a pleasant surprise. I also found the strawberry banana smoothie and blueberry pomegranate smoothie to be quite good but my personal addiction to peach flavoured drinks means the the peach passion fruit will always come first. They all come in festive cups to boot for the holidays. If you were wondering if any of these items were worth the try, I'd definitely give them a go as you might find them surprisingly good. Also, if you haven't tried the Apple pies yet, they are always delicious (though I suspect many of you have already experience these little delights). As a side note, they are just better in Canada than in other parts of the world due to the method of preparation. I think Canada bakes them and other countries deep fry them. You'd be surprised at the difference. I would however avoid the "li'l doughnuts". I found them disgusting. Timbits are way better. The next things on my list to try are the festive ginger cookies. Though I found most of these items good, they are chalk full of sugar which makes little, if anything, about them nutritious. They are also likely filled with refined sugars too but I'm sure none of us are going to McDonald's for the health benefits so perhaps give these a try next time you're there.

It took two people fifteen minutes to make it. - Communication to the customer on how long it would take for my order to be ready wasn't stellar. On Wednesday night, after driving home from Mississauga, I felt like a milkshake. Where should I get one? I remembered that the Boardwalk Fries Burgers Shake location in Scarborough that I had visited months ago offered milkshakes. I also remembered this Boardwalk location in Markham. It used to be South St. Burger. Markham used to have two locations. It now has zero, which is a downer. I came here at nearly 9 pm. There were lots of parking spots. I pulled into one and entered the store. The Boardwalk is a combo store with Lava Grill. There is one entrance for both eateries. I walked in. There was a couple enjoying a meal. I was the only person at the order area, which is shared between the two eateries. It took a while for the man at Boardwalk to come over. He was making burgers. I ordered these items: - Strawberry shake without whipped cream - Dubai chocolate brownie I paid with a credit card. Done. Communication is an issue here. This man continued making burgers and fries. He didn't let me know how long it would take to make my order. I wasn't in a rush, but I didn't know that it would take fifteen minutes for two folks to try and make my milkshake. I did like that the press for the burgers automatically came down on the patties and had a timer. I also watched fries go into hot oil and the basket automatically come up once the fries were done. It was also on a timer. I noticed that burger man got Lava guy to make my shake. They both went into the back. Burger man came back to assemble the burgers. Lava guy was still in the back. My guess was that there was some issue making my shake. Again, I got no communication until Lava guy came out to look at my order and told me it would be two minutes. Um, sure. I didn't believe it. I was right. I decided to sit down. Burger guy had finished making the burgers. He went outside. He came back in. His first communication to me was two fingers up in the area. Two minutes or victory?! Five minutes later, I saw a shake come out from the back. Lava guy was holding it. Lava guy took a box with a brownie and packed it in a paper bag. I got a napkin, a fork, and a spoon. He handed me a pretty strawberry shake and my paper bag. I thanked both guys, more relieved than anything, and left. I got into my car and drove home. Despite the wait and the lack of decent communication, the two items that I had were excellent. The strawberry milkshake was yummy. I loved the strawberry flavour. It was creamy and enjoyable. I had the Dubai chocolate brownie yesterday. It was so good. I loved the crispy bits with pistachio cream and a delectable, moist brownie layer. Yum! I'm thinking that ordering online and coming here to pick up my order would be best. This place seems to take its time because it seems to be on its own time. Boardwalk has happy hour deals at night. I may give it a try next time. Here's hoping that communication is better. (190)

They do charge tax so it ended up being $19 flat. Both dishes also came with a beverage, and I think soy milk is the only cold one without an additional upcharge so we both ordered that. For the soup noodles, it was actually pretty good - they gave 3 large pork and shrimp wontons, and a couple pieces of beef which were tasty and well marinated.
