Upon arriving he was friendly and went out of his way to see if they had a specific wine I wanted. (It was a long shot, but he tried and it was appreciated) He kept checking in on us to see if we wanted anything else. He even redid another pumpkin rim sugar glass half way through my beer! This bartender was ON IT. I wasn't expecting to get such great service from this dive bar (I considered this a dive bar because I used to frequent when I was younger). Great local pub in the heart of Babylon. I've been coming here over 20 years and each time is a great experience.

A spacious and clean Irish pub dive bar. Coming in at 4:30pm on a rainy Saturday, two gentlemen at the bar were attentive and welcoming. Menus for food are QR code, but we weren't really sure about specialty drink selection if they had one. Then again it's a dive bar. Lots of draft options. We put in food which came out pretty quickly. Though you pick it up from this small window where the lower the food to you in the dining area. The flat bread was more like a burrata and bruschetta on toast? The name of the app is misleading though the description is right. The fried pickles were SO delicious. All the wood n such gives the inside a bit of a cabin/lodge feel. During warm weather months, an outdoor area and "back bar" to address the overflow. *was there for post Pride event- last summer and this place was jammed! Local bar feel and vibe, lots of locals and as stated, late night hours draw in a younger crowd so us "mature" folk who may not want to be surrounded by 20sumthins be advised. However, a great spot to catch your favorite sports teams on the tube, plenty of televisions to croon your neck at. Full bar and lots of taps. Decent pub fare as well. To start off you must first encounter Louisa and Anthony who are the sweetest couple you would ever meet. They both helped me scan in and get a free drink. On top of that when ordering the bartender was very nice and helpful. After enjoying a free drink on them I was inclined to get some food. I enjoyed the fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. We came here for a late night to meet up with friends to grab some drinks for a friend's birthday. Mary Carroll's has that laid back bar feel where the locals hang out. Friends and family meet up to chill and grab a few beers. We stayed more towards the front of the bar where there is hightop tables across from the bar. The are three sections of beer on tap at the bar. So the selection has a good variety. Not sure what to get? The bartender can give you suggestions based on your usual drink of choice. They are friendly and happy to help. I haven't tried the food, so I can not say how it is. We came early in the night, but as the night got longer the crowd started to roll in. I love what they did for outdoor seating. A bunch of sand dumped out back for a beach feel. The umbrellas are good shade. There wasn't any waitstaff, so you just go up to the bartender inside with a mask on and order drinks and food through him. The sangria and the bourbon lemonade were so delicious and refreshing. Plenty of alcohol in both of them for a nice buzz and not over the top drunk. There was a customer who brought his golden retriever, as dogs are allowed in the sand. He was SOOO cute!!!! Long Guuuyyland Pub. Clientele is the average "Mike" having a social gathering, on a pub crawl or just looking to get wickey wriggity wrecked! It might take a while to get a drink certain nights but the bartenders are all friendly, especially the ladies that work there who let me try a bunch of different things when I just wasn't in the mood for a beer (and had to drive everyone). Overall selection of drinks was OK. If you're hungry - Order food at the bar and wait for it to drop from the ceiling by a member of the kitchen staff that gives you the ole stink eye. Quality of food is what you'd expect of a neighborhood pub. The more you drink, the better it tastes, I suppose! I wish I could like this place on just the Bavarian Pretzels alone. I usually order a pretzel to be delivered from DoorDash but this time i decided to have a drink and the bar and eat the pretzel there. As soon as I walked in I could smell something rancid and sour. I'm not sure if the beer lines need to be cleaned or the whole place needs a deep cleaning. I was with a friend and since we were already there my friend wanted to stay for 1 drink. The bartender was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a glass of wine each and a pretzel. The wine glasses had spots on them and the wine tasted terrible. The pretzel came out quickly and was hot and fresh. The beer cheese was melted to perfection. I tried the wine again since I had food to try and mask the awful taste after each sip but could only finish 1/3rd of the glass. We left after devouring the pretzel and paying the bill. I didn't feel so great once I got home and wound up throwing up the wine and pretzel. I'd definitely order the pretzel again but I'll stick to wine at my own home. read more

decided to come to mary carroll's for my birthday as it seemed pretty laid back. me and some friends got there around 8ish (as im getting to be quite a grandma and love to get home before midnight). there were a few groups but nothing too busy. the bartenders were all friendly and all my drinks were made well and quickly. i also tried their disco fries which were exceptionally good (but i was also pretty tipsy at that point)! i cant speak to how busy it gets later on in the night but if youre looking for a bar to start your night, this is it. only downside, as another reviewer stated, the bathroom situation is not great. the tiniest bathrooms and almost never have toilet paper. as long as you dont go to the bathroom often, this is a great chill bar read more

If you want absolutely no service and have to go fetch your own food then this place is for you. I can see this being a fun place to just get drunk with other young 20 somethings but it's not the place to go for dinner. I got boneless wings that were so dry and the breading was hard to bite through. I also got disco fries but the gravy was bland and the fries were a strange cut. My husband got the steak sandwich which he thought was good but it's been so long since we've been out to eat so he was probably desperate. I would definitely recommend Lily Flanagan's, Local, or Babylon burger bar over this. I wish this place had better food since I follow them on Instagram and they seem to be very pro Babylon village businesses but I think they need to spend more time on improving their menu and food quality for me to support them. read more

I have been a patron of Mary's for about 3 years and it hads always been amazing service. One time I had a little too much to drink and I made a mistake by taking a beer from the tap on the side of the bar. I understand that I made a mistake but the amount of disrespect that the bar tender Francis has given is unforgivable. I have gone in 3 times and tried to talk to a manager or someone in charge but every time I go in Francis has prevented me from apologizing. He has thrown me out before I am able to speak to a manager / owner to reconcile the prior incident. I have tried to pay for the beers that I took and have offered compensation for the beers that I mistakenly took but my offer has fallen on deaf ears. This bar looks as one would expect an authentic bar from Ireland to look. It only gets my two stars because of its authenticity and decor. The owner comes straight from Ireland. The crowd is typical mostly regular drunks who are loud and smoke. The food is all fried bar foods-what you'd expect of a bar. Not the place to go for a wholesome family meal though. The bartenders are knowledgeable as most of them have been there for quite some time. One of them laughed at me and kept my card and made me pay for it. I then asked the other bartender if he would replace it and he immediately ignored me. They are rude. I was a bartender for 7 years. I have lived in the area much of my life and have never been. It's a little dark inside, and it seems like you can be there at any time and find people at the bar. The bartender working was very nice to my girl and our friends, so the review is going to be a little rosier than it would normally be. Also, the nice weather and outdoor area were a big plus. It was crowded with a slightly rowdy crowd. A drunk mother laid down to pet a stranger's friendly dog out back. To sum it up, it's a place for a cheap drink. Take it for what it is. I will never go back to this place after this weekend. Bouncers from the start out their hands on one of my friends and when I stepped in to see what was going on, they grabbed me to throw me out the bar. The reason was they said my friend "looked drunk", when the guy was completely fine. The bouncer then tried to assault me and throw me out the bar when I decided to not let anything escalate and left the bar on my own. Stumbled here at 2am after Monsoon was dying down, and drinking some good drinks at Argyle. We only came here because this place has food and music. -At the door, a few guys were just leaving. We ask them why are they leaving? Their response: "This place has an ugly crowd" (p.s. they themselves were nowhere next to models so I had to laugh). -Once inside, we realized they weren't wrong.
