I have been seeing Dr. Rohan for a few years now and she is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She has been highly responsive to my needs. After my mom was diagnosed with melanoma she made sure to put me on a more frequent watch rotation. I love that she has skin-protecting garments in her office to make it easier for me. I had trouble finding a good gardening shirt and hat that fit me. She is very good at spotting things that need attention and refers to a surgical dermatologist for anything that needs cutting or a biopsy, I highly recommend her. read more

I had an appointment with her two weeks ago and I have to say that I was extremely impressed. I have various freckles and dark spots on my body. I would like to update my review with a more recent experience. After trying a couple other dermatologists, I ended up going back to Dr. Rohan. I always liked her professionalism and expertise. It was the parking and appointment wait time that had disappointed me on my last visit. Those items were not an issue this time around :) Just like before, Dr. Rohan took her time and listened to my issues. She didn't hesitate to offer diagnosis and treatments for what I was experiencing. I walked away feeling in good hands. The parking lot is still a challenge but I was more prepared and gave myself enough time to look for a spot. Contrary to my old experience where I showed up to my appt on time and still had to wait an hour to see the doctor, this time I only had to wait 10 minutes past my appointment to be seen. I found my derm doc on Yelp! Thanks to all the great reviews that Dr. Rohan had on our beloved Yelp, I scheduled an appointment and became her patient! Although after my first visit, I was going to give the office only 4 stars because my wait was really long and the waiting room was packed (plus, it is a VERY small waiting room). However, after my subsequent visits, I'm pleased to announce that I agree with the 5 star ratings and there is where it will stay! As most females, I try to look the best I can at almost all times. The face is what is important, people don't like to see flaws especially in themselves. Well, all of a sudden at 47 years old I was breaking out worse than I had in my life! I tried everything, all suggestions and nothing worked. I felt so insecure! I'd had enough. I learned on Yelp that I can schedule my appointment on ZocDoc.com and that's exactly what I did. What a great feature! I got to choose my time, my date and got reminders too. Perfect! Off to my first appointment... this is where the wait was awful both in the waiting room and in the exam room. But once I met Dr. Rohan, all frustration went out the window. She's so friendly, bubbly, thoughtful and knowledgeable! SCORE! I was prescribed a cream that, in time, cleared up my hormonal, pre-menopausal, embarrassing breakouts. She also asked if I needed any moles or spots checked... sure, why not! I used to always sunbathe with Crisco, hey, if it fries chicken.... (that was our motto in the 80s). After a skin check, finding nothing to worry about, she said to come back in about 4 months for a re-check of my breakouts. Sure enough, ZocDoc.com reminded me to make an appointment and I also got a friendly reminder postcard in the mail from the office. Although my face was virtually clear by then, I went back. I told her that the first Rx was a bit pricy now (over $100 after the price hike), she agreed and told me about a new one that was just as good and a bit less out of my pocket, along with a coupon. If you're looking for a kind and patient doctor with a wealth of knowledge and experience PLUS a wonderfully approachable bedside manner...Dr. Rohan is it. This is a charming and cozy office - which translates to solo practice with real patient-doctor interface time. I love that for a doctor's office because it means not getting shuffled around in an impersonal and oversized madhouse. You actually see the doctor the whole appointment. Dr. Rohan doesn't make you feel rushed and you have time to share all of your questions and concerns. She goes the extra mile to diagnose and make sure you get the treatment that you need. She also has a very comfortable and fun presence, which makes me feel at ease and enjoy seeing her as a patient. I don't recommend if you have a history with acne (hereditary in my family). Don't waste money on copays, topical treatments... chemical peels, antibiotics, face wash, benzoyl, AHA, lasers... etc. Dr. Rohan is friendly but her treatments will not give you a permanent solution. She will recommend different topicals and chemical peels. After 15 years of fighting with acne, I finally decided to go with accutane. Best decision of my life. I suggest going this route sooner to prevent all the years of scarring. You will have MAJOR!!! breakouts the first 3 months (oh its gonna be bad but just DGAF) with EXTREMELY dry lips (use Aquafor 24/7 or die) and some other minor side effects. You will see acne disappear after the 3rd month, depending on the severity. Now, I don't even bother to use face wash on a regular basis and my skin is clear. I'll get the occasional pimple(much smaller) here and there but it disappears after 3 days without any creams. Post accutane... Use a derma pen along with EGF or PRP - works wonders on minor scars, minimizing pores, and refining skin! Wait a year (or not, according to new published journals) to go for some laser treatments, subcision, dermafillers on deep scars - fraxel co2 worked for me. read more

Oh my god how could this doctor have even one star? First of all the office staff has no idea what they're doing they wanted us to pay $120 co-pay. Our copayment is $10. After much explaining and pulling it up on our own phones they accepted the proper co-pay. I asked for first appointment in the morning that was 9:30 am. At 10:15 we walked out to the front office asking where is the doctor. We were told by the front office staff oh she's not in. Us: when will she be in staff: we don't know. She's always late in the morning this was obvious by nonchalant I don't give a crap about the patient. Do yourself a big favor there are too many dermatologist out there stay the hell away from this one. Let me start with I chose Mary Kate based on Yelp reviews, rather than the dermatologist my doctor recommended, so I feel it important to share my experience with other Yelpers that may be considering her. First, the facility they are at, the Medical building next to Anaheim Memorial Hospital is always busy, read no available parking. When I finally got a spot and made it up to the office, had to take the stairs because there were about 30 people waiting for the elevator, again always busy. SO I get up to the 3rd floor and the door is locked, kind of a shock, and then I saw a little sign to knock. I did and the receptionist opened the door. This seems strange, it's not like they asked who it is or anything, just opened the door. So I sat there and waited the customary 20 minutes before being taken to a room, to wait another 10-15 to see the doctor for 1 minute... Reminds me of Kaiser. She comes in and gives me a diagnosis, maybe more accurate than Kaiser docs did, explained what was going on and gave me a prescription. The prescription worked ok, it is pretty expensive, but a treatment not a cure. So I guess I am resigned to suffer and pay my whole life. So I go back for follow-up visit, same situation as above. She said it looked ok, I pointed out a small bump I have suffered with and didn't know what it was, Mary Kate said it was a simple wart and she could take care of it for me in a couple seconds. She dips a Q-tip in liquid nitrogen and touches it to the wart for about 3 seconds and says it will die and fall off in a few days. Cool. Well all is well with the world, about 3 weeks later I get a bill from her office, so after the $30 office visit I pay 20% and the insurance pays 80%. I am aghast looking at the bill, Outpatient Surgery... MY BALANCE $270 after the insurance. WTF, I could buy a $3 bottle of Compound W or something to kill a wart, but she is billing me $270 after the insurance paid. Ready for the best part, SHE DIDN'T KILL THE WART! It is back just as if nothing ever happened. I hope you read this Mary Kate. And recommend that if you are going to charge someone hundreds or thousands of dollars for 3 seconds of your time, 20 cents worth of liquid nitrogen, and a Q tip, you should tell them. Hey I can try and take care of that wart in 3 seconds for $1500 or whatever it you plan to charge rather than sound like hey, you're already here and paid me $30 for 2 minutes of my time, I'll just take care of it for you. I finally found my forever Dermatologist!!!!!!! After visting 2 other so called dermatologist, I thought I would never find a doc who truly cared. Last 2 I went to was a joke. Seriouly they made me wait for almost an hour and came into speak to me for lousy 3 mins. That's it. So fraustrating!!!! Im so glad I found Doc Rohan. I was so comfortable talking to her and she listened and diagnosed the problem and prescribed the medicine that I need to help/cure my eczema. You can tell she's an expert at what she does. I saw Dr. Rohan when I had a really bad breakout last year. I saw her twice and didn't have to see her for a whole year. The first session was consultation; she suggested me to get off of my bc and prescribed me clindamycin lotion. The second time I went in, (my skin was almost back to normal) she did a minor chemical peel on my face. I saw her for the third time today and she did the same peel on my face again. She suggested me to come for three sessions so I could really tell the difference. I'll put up another review in 2 months! ;) Everyone in the office is very professional and Dr. Rohan is extremely sweet and knowledgeable. Sometimes you have to leave voicemails but they always call you back promptly. Parking could be a little bit hard if you want to park right by the building since her office is in a hospital building but there's plenty of parking space if you go to the left side of the parking lot. Let me preface this story by telling you my face-wash "routine" includes splashing water on my face in the mornings. To wake myself up. And maybe using Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash 1-2x/week, out of habit ($5/bottle at Walmart... since I was 16). Ok, so now that we understand that I have no concept of skincare, we know that when my eyes started to look a little irritated, what did I do? Itch them, naturally. Which made it worse. Then, when things got really bad, tried Aquaphor, just because I had some lying around from my last few tattoos. Didn't help. So, by the time I was looking around for a dermatologist, I was feeling rather lost, scared, and desperate (have I made it clear at this point, skincare = not my thing). 11:42pm Can't sleep Lazily wake computer Troll web Land on yelp, decide on a whim to look for high rated dermatologists close to new home Find Mary Kate Rohan, MD, who looks nice, has high reviews... can't attached with a local medical insurance card, though. Most providers are out of network. 11:45pm Oh, look. Left wallet on desk, right next to me. Pulls out insurance card. Pulls up website on back, search "Rohan," sure enough, 1 search result in your area! Back to yelp page. Click link to ZocDoc. Create Account. This is cool...? Wait, I just make an appointment right now? For tomorrow? This must be too good to be true. AND I can fill out the paperwork online too?? NO WAY. 11:50pm Confirmation email received for appointment. This was too easy. Next day, show up in office (a little late, as per the usual), and Dr. Rohan is just simply a delight. She educated me about what could possibly have caused the irritation, and gave me a few samples, as well as a small eye cream that cleared it up 50% within 48 hours, 100% within the week. AMAZING. I just had my fourth appointment with Dr. Rohan yesterday and I've been pretty happy and satisfied. Pros: I came to see her for my acne and she was very helpful and spends sufficient time with you during your appointment to discuss your options for treatment. She makes you feel comfortable and is very welcoming! Another thing I was really happy about was that they accepted my insurance, which is not a major company and is from my small hometown. She also gave me a ton of coupons for my first prescription purchase! Lastly, every time you go to the office, she has free samples for different skin care products (ie. body wash, lotion, etc.) set out for her patients! Cons: The parking lot is always super packed, so make sure you come a little early to park so you get to your appointment on time. Otherwise, I've seen a sign for free valet, but I haven't tried that yet. The only reason why she's not getting 5 stars from me is the wait. Based on my previous appointments, after signing in, I usually have to wait about 10-15 minutes before they bring me into the exam room (which is not that bad). However, once in the room, I've waited another 15-20 minutes until actually seeing her. For a small office, I expect to see her closer to my scheduled appointment time rather than 25-35 minutes later. read more

Good: Dr. Rohan is nice and answers any questions or issues I have with patience. For 2 years, I've been suffering from one stubborn cystic acne that refused to go away. I tried Cetaphil, Obagi, Aspirin masks, Kiehls, Neutragena and Tea Tree Oil but the little sucker simply loves to appear on the same spot on my left cheek every 2-3 weeks without fail. And while the sucker is hibernating (after using stuff to dry it out), my poor skin was left with an ugly dark scar. I was getting tired of the endless cycle and decided to take a leap of faith and consult with Dr. Rohan. After the initial consultation, she gave me an option of oral and/or topical medications. I decided to do both and couples of day later; the little sucker was actually smaller! And it got smaller and smaller the following week!! I was still vigilant - for all I know, it could just be hibernating... but a month later, it didn't seem like it was making an appearance and now it hasn't made an appearance in 2 months later! Fingers crossed, I hope the little sucker is gone for good. My skin isn't perfectly clear yet, I still have little bumps here and there but I'm getting them less and less. Not so Good: Been at Dr. Rohan's office 2 times. And twice, I waited an average for 40 minutes despite arriving on time or earlier than my schedule appointment. I actually believe that Dr. Rohan is a competent doctor, I went in to have an atypical mole removed. Mole was removed, got the biopsy results back and everything was as expected. Mole was atypical so I asked if the entire core was removed or if another surgery was needed. They said that they thought they got everything but wanted me to come in for a followup appointment just to check and make sure everything was healing correctly. Figured it was unnecessary but said fine so I would have an appointment set up in case it was needed. Comes to the date of the appointment and they cancelled the appointment on me the week before. I figured ehh that's fine everything is healing correctly and I don't need the appointment anyways. They have called and left a total of 10 voicemails, none of which I have returned about rescheduling an appointment. They also mailed a letter to my home saying it was important I call them about my biopsy results (that they already gave me). I called the office and of course nobody answered so I left a voicemail explaining that they already gave me my biopsy results and told them to stop calling me. They call me back again and left another voicemail to tell me they wanted to discuss the appointment and not the biopsy results. I work during the day. STOP CALLING ME. I obviously don't need this appointment and I don't need your service I will never go here again because of the unprofessionalism of their office staff. I'm totally fine paying for a visit if it is a necessary visit. I've been going to a dermatologist for over 15 years, I had to go to a new one because I moved states. I know it's not necessary to have a followup appointment for something as menial as a mole removal. They are simply just trying to get more money. read more

I recommend continuing with Dr. Rohan ONLY if she does chemical peel treatments for you. My acne has gotten so much better. The products are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I don't like the long wait all the time so make sure to show up 5 minutes before your appointment or have fun waiting an hour. Sometimes you have to wait even if you do come on time, which is annoying. She is a nice doctor, but primarily focuses on chemicals and treatments rather than looking at your acne holistically with diet and other factors. Awful experience! First.. I went there cause I had a rash in my skin. I waited for 40 minutes for the Dr. to see me. She saw me and told me that my skin was very irritated and to start using all these creams that guess what! She happened to sell them all! I felt like when you go to the salon and they all want to sell you hair products and make things up so that you get convinced and buy them! So I paid a copay of 40 dls plus 44 dls for the lotions she gave me cause I wanted to give it a try since I saw so many good reviews on yelp. Well, 2 days later the rash appeared again and even worse! So I called to see what should I do. The assistants told me that she needed to see me so to come by next day. Well guess what... I went to her office and waited for 50 minutes this time! And the receptionist told me I had to pay again! So I told her... but I already paid 3 days ago and for the same problem that she couldn't heal. She said. Yes, well you have to pay every time you come in the office. So I paid... Then after the 50 minutes of waiting, the Dr. barely saw my face and just told me to take one of the medications off ( a medication I didn't even get to use so basically not change anything) and to keep on with the other creams she sold me. Then I get home and saw that I was missing a wash she prescribed me. So I called and told them they missed putting it in my bag... They told me, that's a wash we sell here at the office so you would have to come and pick it up. It'll be 33 more dls!!! ( so they forgot to put it in my bag and I'm the one that has to go all my way there) I swear I'm never coming back to this sales store! Cause that's what it is! They will only rip off your money and convince you that you need all of their products! I have insurance and I paid for what it was supposed to be just one visit almost 200 dls! *First Visit* Based on my first experience, I am very pleased with Dr. Rohan. I am on a mission to find a doctor who can help me get rid of my adult acne along with a rash I have had on my face for the past 2 months. Based on her Yelp reviews, I wanted to give her a try. From my very first interaction with the office, it was very pleasant. They provided accurate pricing for cash patients and even followed up with me 2 days before my appointment to confirm my appointment time and asked if I had any questions. For my appointment, I was a little less than 10 minutes late (shame on me). When I found the office, I just signed in and waited. The girl I spoke with in the front was very friendly. The wait was around 30 minutes, but I wasn't phased by that considering I was the one who was late. Also, I filled out all my paperwork online, so I didn't have to fill any forms out. Dr. Rohan was very friendly and I addressed all of my concerns with her. The only think I was unsure of was that I felt that she didn't ask a lot of questions about my symptoms of the rash I had. However, she seemed to know what it was right off the bat, so maybe that just wasn't needed. Since I am a cash patient, she definitely helped me out on some prescriptions and added a few extra samples. I did purchase a face wash and sunblock. The price for my first consultation was a bit pricey, but I feel like it was worth it for the experience. Not knowing many local and affordable dermatologists, I found Dr.Rohan on yelp, and I am so glad I did. The appointment process was so easy on ZocDoc. Like another review says, it almost feels weird at how easy the process was. I was also able to grab an appointment the next day. Went in and she was very sweet and listened as I explain how it all started. I ended up needing antibiotics, which she gave me a prescription for the cheap medication. This is the second dermatologist I have been to. The first one was a mostly negative experience and didn't help much. I came here to get treatment for acne problems as well as some pretty bad scars on my leg. It took no more than 10 to 15 min to see the doctor from the moment I walked in (including the time it took to fill out paperwork). The staff were very friendly and professional. As for the doctor herself, she was very helpful. She explained how all the prescriptions worked and how to use them. She also answered all my questions very well and didn't rush anything at all. Not only did I get the help I needed, but the doctor was also very outgoing and positive which helped lift my mood as well. After going to a my 7 year old daughter's pediatrician several times for Molluscum Contagiosum I was told over and over there is no treatment by a few different pediatricians. I took her to see Dr. Rohan. Immediately Dr. Rohan knew what it was and proceeded to treat her with a very simple and effective treatment. Dr. Rohan is such a blessing to our family. My daughter's torso, underarms, elbows, and behind the knees were covered with molluscum which is a itchy and contagious skin rash. I could go on and on about Dr. Rohan and her great staff. She has treated myself, my husband, our daughter and also our high school wrestler who needed to be quickly treated so he could get back to wrestling asap. Extremely helpful in diagnosing my problem, great bedside manner, very knowledgeable, and gives me chemical peels with my copay (I have never even heard of that deal before).
