Clean office, nice people, caring doctors. I had a basic skin cancer exam because I had a couple of dark spots that were growing and ugly. The doctor was very thorough, polite and listened to me. She ended up removing a few things and sent for biopsy. Since I am a self pay client with no insurance, they explained the costs right there in the spot. Thank you! Dr David Sire- Has Retired!! I was introduced to this office by a few friends. After my initial phone call everything sounded good and validated my friends experience. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. When I called they did tell me the original doctor both of my friends recommended is not longer there. He's since retired. So this may explain my next part. On the phone u was quoted 120/140. For the visit and if I choose to have a service the upfront appt fee would be applied to my overall services. When I arrived it was a misunderstanding. Apparently the office visit for my service (Skin tag Removal) was separate. The credit applies to Botox and other such injections. ‍. My service including my consultation was about 300. They said they would bill my insurance for the office visit and I would pay 185. Out of pocket. Post service and the removal of the skin tags I did not receive a followup call to see how I was doing. No instructions, I just looked everything up on the web. Today 3 weeks post- I received a bill from their back office in the amount of 748. With a remaining balance of 31.46 for me to pay. This is a complete misrepresentation of cost I was never told the service we be in the area of. 700.. when I called the office they just referred me back to the billing service. This is what makes the cost of insurance so expensive. Over billing!!! No i wouldn't recommend this business. read more

The "wait" time is horrible here, even with an appointment. I try to arrive 15-20 minutes before my appointments all the time in hopes of getting in and out quicker even if just slightly. This has yet to happen. People who came after me were all called in before me.. I don't think I've ever been seen "on time". I get called in AFTER my appointment time all the times I've been here What irks me most is how rushed everything is once you actually get into a room (including time with the doctor, time checking out). I tried to book with a different doctor to see if it's the same all around but they always schedule me with the doctor I've seen previously. But when the doctor comes in, I always feel like I have to mentally prepare all my questions and concerns before they leave because it literally feels so rushed. Also I hate how they always push for "bleaching" treatments versus alternatives. Overall, I do like this dermatology clinic but always so hesitant to come back because I feel like I'm treated like a revolving door. read more

Terrible experience! Dr. Nguyen injected Kenalog 2 times only 9 days apart to a pimple and caused my skin to atrophy (right between my brows). She wouldn't admit fault when she already told me it most likely happened due to injecting the pimple with Kenalog, spacing it only 9 days apart. Would never recommend Dr. Nguyen to anyone. I did not receive dermatology care here, so this is not towards any of the doctors here, but I did have an experience. With the office lady. The stars do not do a good job of portraying this- I would put a zero but I didn't think this business should be punished for this woman's behavior. I had an appointment at Quest, next door for a blood draw. I needed to use the restroom because it was about to be my time of the month (I forgot what day it was). I was starting to leak through my under clothes. I waited a good 5 minutes for a worker to walk through the Quest door to open it and no one did- and I started to worry. Keep in mind this door to the appointment rooms and bathrooms are locked. So I decide to walk in to this dermatologist place to use the bathroom and clean myself up a little and prepare myself, keep in mind I am a woman, a young woman early 20's. I ask the office lady if there was restroom I could use, she says yes. Then stops me and ask if I have an appointment. I say I do not, but I have one at Quest. She says then I can't let you into the restroom. I explain to her how I really need a bathroom, woman to woman, to please understand. She says no I cannot let you do that. At this point I'm livid but can't show it, since this is all laughable how i probably have a stain on my ass. So I say "okay yeah. I'll just tell my blood to go back up inside my uterus. Thanks for nothing." Kinda insane cuz there was a man there waiting for his appointment. She said nothing. I didn't get her name, but she was a white- Asian looking lady. Maybe late 40's. Didn't like the service. And isn't this health care? Caring for people? I'm sorry - if she doesn't care for people she shouldn't be in it. Wish I got her name so I could blast it here but alas not the case. And she could've at least explain WHY. Or made, you know, an EXCEPTION or TRIED TO. But no, just a straight NO we can't have that. I can't believe Dr. Sire is still in business. Twenty years ago, I went to his office to have a scar removed on my wrist, and he suggested laser. At the time laser was a new treatment. I believe that he was not skilled at the time to be administering treatment that was still in its infancy. He literally burned my skin with the laser. I was screaming in pain, but he continued to point the wand onto my skin. Like a mad scientist getting joy out of my pain. When I told him how painful it was, he just shrugged and walked away. The scar is worse than the initial scar that I was treated for. I am reminded everyday by the permanent disfigurement. I only wish I had sued for malpractice. read more

I love this Derm office... My experience has been nothing but positive from the front office to the back.. Genuinely warm and helpful staff. I had a couple skin issues to address.. the first a full skin check since I am prone to atypical moles.. My prior Derm literally took less than a minute to go over my whole body, scalp to toes which left me wondering if something was missed.. I decided to find a new office and found Exceptional Derm Care. Dr Nguyen took her time and was very thorough giving me the confidence that nothing was missed.. Also, last year, I was diagnosed with Vitiligo that suddenly appeared on my upper back.. She Rxed me a specific cream and it is thankfully working! Over the last several months my pigmentation is returning and the spot is filling in.. I completed the form yesterday and received a call today. I was told that a medical consult is $140 w/o PPO insurance, a cosmetic consult is $125 w/o above insurance. This was very discouraging as I was ready to begin the process. The person I spoke with said she'd tell her manager about the website error. Saw this dermatology because of high reviews, but i was tricked. Paid for almost $4k for 3 treatments and didn't see any significance on my face. Not to mention, the treatment was extremely painful. The doctor didn't prepare you well for the treatment. There is barely any result for 3 treatments. The front staff, especially the lady with the glasses was kinda rude. When I call them, she always said: do you mind holding for a sec? Then, she hung up on me. Kinda ridiculous. They are trying to sell you stuff like cream and shit. When I asked the dermatologist, she didn't even understand what's the ingredients on that. wtf? Asked the dermatologist, when can I see the redness goes away, she said a month. Having a family history of melanoma I searched for a dermatologist that I could trust. I had my first appointment on 09/12/24 with Dr. Nguyen, Amy MD, I was pleased with her bedside manner and patience to listen and answer any of my questions. I was diagnosed with Rosacea and was prescribed 2 medications. For my Rhofade 1 % topical cream, I was given a slip for Hope Pharmacy to call me (the preferred pharmacy they work with), and it was a nightmare right away. They were giving me different prices without sending a preauthorization first. WHICH, I had to call and confirm with my insurance and pass that information on to the pharmacy. During my consultation, Dr. Nguyen recommended Vbeam Pulse Dye Laser as an effective treatment for my rosacea but was told NO insurance companies cover it.  I wanted to call my insurance to find out myself, but needed the CPT codes. I called the office (Exceptional Dermatology Care) and was given 17000-17004 for the Vbeam laser treatment. I called my insurance and to my surprise, my insurance covered those codes and treatments.  Finding out the great news, I called back Exceptional Dermatology Care and provided this information and was told "their" compromise was that I would need to pay for the treatments up front and they would bill my insurance. I wanted to provide feedback to a manager and Alicia Cisneros called me back and had no idea that my provider covers Vbeam Laser treatments since it was a newer change during February of last year. We ended the call with me making my first appointment for the Vbeam laser treatment today, 09/26. I did my homework prior to coming in with my insurance company and printed the service that those codes fell under to make sure we were on the same page. My appointment was today (09/26) at 10:30 am and was told to come in at 10:00 am for numbing. I did so and was brought back by a super sweet bubbly employee. I sat there numbed for 30 minutes and then she came back with the clipboard and document for me to sign. To my surprise, there were three NEW codes 17106, 17107, and 17108 on the document saying they would bill the insurance using these codes and I would pay upfront. I pulled out my printout from my insurance (the codes I was given by Exceptional Dermatology Care)  then the chaos started. I was brought to the front and discussed my concerns with Liz Young who was helpful and genuinely wanted to help me. But since I spoke to Alicia Cisneros over the phone she came up to talk to me but was EXTREMELY RUDE AND LOUD ( I can't believe she is a manager to begin with). This was in the lobby with other patients listening and it was embarrassing. She didn't care what I had to say and said well I need time to look into this and we have other patients at the moment. I was absolutely STUNNED by her unprofessionalism and neglect!!! During my first visit on 09/12, she wasn't very friendly then but I thought maybe she was busy or distracted, but it's not that, which was confirmed today. I asked if we could call my insurance before committing to the treatment which is extremely expensive and to my surprise the 3 NEW codes were NOT covered. Not only was I given false information, I took time off work (wasted PTO time) and I left without any resolution. read more

Dr. Amy Nguyen is the best, because for one she is so kind and two She's understanding of my concerns with my sensitive skin. I have gone through so much from acne to hyperhidrosis, and she has been there to help me through all of it. They prescribe you was best for yourself and let you know what you could experience with it and how it can help you for you to understand whether it can benefit you or not. I saw Dr. Sire last spring to get a biopsy to diagnose a nerve issue. I needed three 3mm biopsies. The doctor didn't properly prepare the biopsy tissues (he put them in the wrong type of preservative) and so the biopsies were invalid and not able to be interpreted at the labs. This was especially frustrating because the office didn't immediately take accountability for his mistake: They didn't update me on what had gone wrong until over two months after the procedure -- and during that time, I was waiting anxiously for my biopsy results. Ultimately, when they did fill me in on what went wrong, I was only notified through the office staff, instead of hearing accountability from Dr. Sire for the mistake. Ten months later, and I have three very bright and noticeable biopsy scars, and no assessment for my nerve damage. read more

Adriana was my nurse and helped me with fillers. I do not have a top lip what so ever and I've always wanted on lol like most people. Adriana was so patient and really cares about the look you are going for. She stopped to let me let me look and made incredible recommendations on where we should add and not add. I have visited Dr. Amy Nguyen 6 times for removal of age spots from my 72 year-old hands in 2022 and surgical removal of a skin cancer on my neck yesterday. My hand skin color was dramatically lightened after each of 3 brief treatments using a high intensity light or laser. Yesterday, she excised the skin cancer, put in stitches and a bandage. Today, there is no post-op pain. Dr Nguyen, her nurses and staff are so friendly and likeable (as opposed to just being polite) that I never feel nervous, but look forward to going back & see them again. In November, i have appointments set up to do several laser treatments to remove dark mottled skin from my entire face. I wanted to get it done ASAP this summer but Dr. Nyugen said to wait till the hot sunny summer is over to get the BEST results. I have referred my wife & daughter. I came here not too long ago for a consultation for some treatment on my scars. I have met with a really kind medical assistant. She had curly hair and had great mannerism. I was met by the primary doctor and they both suggested that Vivace would guarantee some results. We conversed back and forth, I decided to get the treatment. 6 Treatments for 3750, they said they would knock off 500 off, but honestly everywhere you go they say that. The machine itself is worth about 4-5k. One treatment costs 755 dollars. 3 is 2170. I was really excited for the treatment and I just really needed a lifter, you know? My plain and dull skin is just waiting to get lightened up again. I made sure I put it on my calendar and waited about a week or so. About three days ago, I have arrived and it was a completely a new set of people. They are definitely in the yelp pictures. Before, I arrived they asked me to come one hour earlier because one of their customers have called to cancel. I was excited that my appointment bumped up! I live pretty far away from this location. It's about a 35 minute drive or so that is with traffic. I finally arrived and they put in me in a room for some anesthesia cream on my face. It was cold and I felt my face losing sensation. I believed they put too much.... my lips started to lose sensation as well. I waited about an hour. That hour... it felt like a long time for me. I just could not wait to do the treatment and see amazing results! I was looking at old pictures of myself and I just could not wait to say goodbye. The PA came in the room to do my treatment. She is middle-aged blonde american woman. Her first impression was nice. She turned on the machine and the machine was not working.... She turned it on and off in frustration? Banging on the machine like the machine had problems in the past. She told me she would be right back.. I did think too much about it. I just hoped everything would be fixed and I can do my treatment and get out of here. Another nurse came in and tried to turn it on and off. The machine was obviously broken and my heart just sank faster than the titanic. All that waiting for a week and that long strenuous hour with anesthesia cream. I heard them calling the company who created the machine and they did not know the problem as well. Another 10 minutes passed and I just thought this was not happening. I paid a lot of money and cleared all of my important schedules for this. The nurse came in.. not the PA to deliver the news. She told me she had some bad news and I already knew what she was going to say. She said it was working just fine, but "it happened to stop working on our last patient". She did not really have to say all of that. She kept saying it was not their fault, we are not to blame. Could we reschedule another time? I just froze and had nothing to say. They had a five star rating on yelp, but obviously it is fake. I questioned the term exceptional and it is below substantial. Why do you not have a back up machine? Why do you only have one? I had so many questions, but I could not speak. She gave me a moment to reassess myself and that she would be back. Somehow the anesthesia cream was having an effect on my body. I was numb all over. I was starting nursing school soon and I just wanted to look my best before I went, and the only schedule worked last week. I felt so unlucky, why me god hahaha I knew this happened for a reason because everything happens for a reason right? I learned to not put all your eggs in one basket. I am glad that I came to this location because this is another lesson learned. I was not meant to be treated here. I do not trust their professionalism or their PA who walked out without saying anything. She clearly lacked mannerism and I do not recommend her to anyone. I got my refund back, but not my time for being there. The drive home was something else, but I pushed through that like I will in any endeavors I face in the future. ---- The red haired receptionist has extraordinary interpersonal skills.
