I am an essential worker and I did not feel comfortable doing a phone appointment with Dr. Lindae because I believe the doctor needs to look at my skin in person. I decided to wait for an appointment until shelter in place was lifted. No problem, right?? ...wrong! I talked to the receptionist multiple times about this, along with leaving two messages. When I spoke to the receptionist, she was working from home and could not hear me. We were playing phone tag in the middle of my work meetings. I received three phone calls in a row from her even after discussing that I wanted to postpone my appointment. She even apologized because it was bad communication. It was clear that they could not conduct business as usual in the most effective way during shelter in place, however, I decided to stick with this doctor and show grace. Surprisingly, when I called to make an appointment(as they are now seeing patients in person), I was told "The DR. has decided to release you from her practice." Excuse me?! The reason I was released was, "the phone log shows we called you multiple times." I am completely baffled at this reason. The receptionist must have failed to log that I talked to her multiple times and left multiple messages as well. I'm shocked and very disappointed in the way this doctor's office has decided to conduct business during the pandemic. My mom and daughter go to this dermatologist, but they will not anymore. In a time where we are supposed to stick together, there are people like Dr. Lindae who fail to see the grace in a situation. As I continue to work as an essential employee in supporting our community, I will be reminded to show kindness to others because I've experienced the exact opposite with this office. read more

Dr. Lindae was very knowledgeable but I had a spot I was concerned about and my primary doctor had frozen it off and it had returned. He advised me to see a dermatologist if it returned. So I wanted to get it checked out. The reason for 3 stars is that she made the assumption that I was just there for cosmetic reasons and she was condescending. I was in fact worried about this spot being suspicious. She went into a long speech about how she doesn't understand why my primary doctor froze it off and then advised me to follow up if it returned. She also said, "so your mom is a patient, and you've been here before with her, haven't you?" (Nodding her head). I have never been there with my mom. But she seemed to insinuate that I went previously along with my mom and got it into my mind that I could get some cosmetic stuff taken care of. I couldn't get out of there fast enough once she told me it wasn't anything suspicious. A+ for wanting to educate patients, but D- for being condescending and assuming that patients are trying to use your services for something they are not. read more

This is a doctor who cares about the way you feel from the time you enter until she removes a skin cancer and follows up. Why would I want someone else? She's as good as they come. read more

The curse of Yelp is that one skewed negative review can negate all the good reviews that have been posted. People are much more willing to listen to something negative. It's a fear thing. "Look at what happened to this person!". I get it. But let's take things with a grain of salt. No, Dr. Lindae is not going to help you with laser hair removal. Or botox. Or microdermabrasion. Or fillers. There are certain procedures that she, as a specialist, chooses not to perform. She's not guessing here. She has research and many years of experience to back her up. Just because you've gotten lucky and haven't had any side effects (yet) from a cosmetic procedure, that doesn't mean that you're an expert on the matter. It just means that you're looking for a doctor who will take your money and inject junk into your face that will come back to haunt you later on. To each their own. I'm looking for a doctor who will watch out for me and tell me the truth. If you're looking for a doctor who will be your "yes" man, Dr. Lindae is not it. Why? Because she's more concerned about your health than that..and you can tell. You can tell by the fact that she calls you, personally, to go over results, options, treatment. She will tell you the things that are hard to hear, because she wants you to be informed. When's the last time a doctor called you just to make sure you understood what was going on? You can tell she cares because she sees fewer patients in a day than other doctors, because she wants her clients to have enough one-on-one time to feel like they are being heard. You can tell because she doesn't take chances. If she's giving you advice, then listen, because it's coming from a place of educated, experienced, good intentions. read more

I think dr Lindae is super nice and very knowledgeable, but every time I come it seems I wait longer and longer. This time I've been waiting for over 2hrs to be seen! Don't schedule me for a 2:15 apt when i won't be seen until 4:15! That's my only complaint read more

Dr. Lindae was a very professional dermatologist. She doesn't do any unnecessary procedures to just make money; which I've seen from other doctors. You might have to wait awhile, but she is worth it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I decided to schedule an apt for my husband with Mary Lindae since she had semi good reviews, well my husbands experience with her was horrible. She suggested that there was health issues with him like possibly cancer, she was in no position to make that comment since that is not what she specializes in, told him there was nothing she could do and sent him away with a bill even though she didn't do anything and you can imagine how shook up he was now that she assumed he had cancer. Now I've also had my own bad experience with them, I made a payment and according to them I didn't because it wasn't in their system even it was showing it was taken out of my bank account. They wanted me to make full payment and then credit me back after I drove to them with proof from my bank! That is ridiculous, I am not wasting my time and gas to fix their mess up they should have some kind of record of that money going into their account!! The internist we went to referred us to a different dermatologist after all the test came back negative. Boswell dermatologist is the best!!! Very professional and courteous since day 1, that's where you should go if you want good service! read more

Dr Lindae was my dermatologist for years, but then I moved to Orange County. I had five different dermatologists in six years before I finally found one who came even close. All they wanted to do was sell me expensive skin care cosmetics. I moved back to Fresno in 2009 and immediately went to see her again. She really takes care to examine all the spots on my fair skin and usually finds one or more that are pre-cancerous. She saved my nose from a big scar back in 1995 because I needed a special surgery for it and at the time she wasn't trained in it. She sent me to a very good doctor out of town and I can't even find the scar now. I am checking out my second dermatologist since August because my insurance changed and I had to leave Dr. Lindae. But, I get to see her tomorrow because my 88-year-old Mom has an appointment and she can't wait to go. Dr. Lindae is her FAVORITE doctor of all time because she takes such a personal interest in her. read more

I had a 9:15 appt. and showed up at 9:10. Waited until 9:50 in the waiting room. Went to the exam room and was told it would be 'a couple minutes'. Waited until 10:15 and stepped out to ask an assistant how much longer it would be and was told she was finishing up with the patient ahead of me. Waited until 10:30 then walked back to the receptionist and told her I was leaving and to refund my co-pay. Had a similar experience with Dr. Lindae a couple of years ago when I had to wait 90 minutes to be seen, so it appears this is common treatment to her patients (aka paying customers). MADE ME SIT, SUGGESTED MEDICATION THAT DOES THE OPPOSITE, NOT UP TO DATE ON MY CONDITION, DIDN'T BELIEVE MY STATEMENTS, GAVE UNNECESSARY CANCER SCARE. I visited Dr Lindae on 4/25/2016. Arrived on time 1 pm; was seen 45 minutes later. I find this wait disrespectful. She must be seeing more patients than she can handle. Her demeanor was pleasant but the visit was disturbing. She started by questioning whether I actually have the condition I came in for - vitiligo. Pretty shocking and insulting-its obvious to the eye, I have had it for 36 years, and have seen countless dermatologists. I'm an intelligent 42 year old professional and I am not deluded about whether I spent my life covered in white patches, or the fact I used a little medication (from my Seattle dermatologist-his idea) to help to finish off my natural color, I am now dipigmented totally. I even belong to the national society for the condition and attend their conferences. She referenced medication for dipigmenting not available since 1990 and seemed wholly not up to date on vitiligo. She made NUMEROUS factually incorrect statements, about treatments and outcomes, that provoked a lot of fear (even though I knew better) such as stating that I was x times higher at risk for skin cancer. Prestigious studies have been done in the last 1-6 years that show that is NOT the case. She suggested a medication for my other minor condition that is EXTREMELY counterindicated for my vitiligo. I am a di-pigmented person, happy being one color and that was a feature of our visit. This medication she suggested, for another condition, is one that vitiligo patients get prescribed to get RE-PIGMENTED, which in someone like me would make you spotted again. Basically, does the opposite of what I was in for. I said- I can't take x medication because it will cause repigmentation. She admitted that (like it was no big deal) and shrugged it off. For the final blow, she did not believe me that the scabs on my hands and my ear were from rock climbing. I had just been out climbing for 5 days and had some small scabs and scrapes. She gave me a cancer scare on some of them, proclaiming if they didn't heal within 4-6 weeks to come back and that overall she was VERY CONCERNED. This was repeated over and over, and faces made as she looked at my hands. These were scratches, they healed in a few days. Even though I knew better, when a doctor raises a big alarm, its scary. I spent several days asking my husband to look at my ear, several times a day, to confirm rapid normal healing. I could forgive making me sit for 45 minutes plus. I could maybe forgive naively saying "I have not heard of that". Add on suggesting a medication that literally does the opposite of the intention and making me be so afraid of a problem I didn't have (including not believing me on the nature of the scabs) and there is no way I could go back to Dr Lindae. My husband has "no conditions" and is also looking for a dermatologist for annual checks and he can't go there either- No one needs nonsense cancer scares or a doctor who doesn't believe what you say. read more

Having no dermatologists near my home in NY, I asked my daughter to get me an appt with Dr Lindae during my visit to California. She did a thorough cancer screen and removed the fast growing spot on my back. I found her to be down to earth, very thorough, informative. I even received a reimbursement quickly after I overpaid my share of the bill. I felt comfortable in her office ,with her, her staff, and her treatment and advice. Pretty much exactly what I want in a Dr. I do not recall the exact wait time but I don't believe it was excessive. read more

I have been Dr. Lindae's patient for 10 years, including through a very scary melanoma surgery at Mt. Zion hospital. While I agree with the reviewers' comments about waiting (I have waited, and waited, and waited, too), her services are not the type where she can precisely determine how long they will take. It is not like carpet cleaning. When she does an exam, she then treats what she finds, and this can take longer than maybe was anticipated. But, if you were the one being treated, instead of the one waiting, I'm sure you would appreciate her thoroughness. So, my advice if you want an excellent and caring dermatologist but "just cannot stand waiting" is to get the first appointment in the morning. That way, we can wait for you. read more
