I had already purchased a vehicle from a private seller in Maryland back in August and spent several days fixing it up so I could drive it back to upstate New York. I was trying to get the car home legally without paying thousands to ship it -- something I've done with other states before. Instead, I spent months getting conflicting and incorrect advice from other tag & title places and the Maryland MVA. I was repeatedly told it was "impossible," or that only the MVA might be able to do it with long waits, appointments, and excessive hassle. Meanwhile, the car sat at a friend's house while I tried to figure out what to do. All I actually needed -- which no one else could clearly explain -- was a 15-day transit tag and the correct paperwork. Maryland Express Tag & Title was the only place that truly understood the process. When I first spoke with Kelsey on the phone, she immediately said yes and clearly explained exactly what paperwork I needed to bring. Given all the bad advice I had received elsewhere, it sounded almost too easy -- so I asked her to please confirm with a manager. She did, called me back, and confirmed again that everything would be fine if I brought the documents she outlined. When I visited the location inside the Bowie Walmart on December 10th, I worked with Michael M. and Leticia T. They reviewed everything right away, reassured me I was good to go, and handled the entire process professionally and efficiently. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, including fixing a couple of sections I had missed on the paperwork. I had set aside an entire day -- and even planned for an overnight stay if needed -- but their efficiency saved me a massive amount of time and stress. My insurance company told me that New York and Maryland are two of the hardest states to deal with, which makes their competence even more impressive. I bought an older, increasingly rare car I wanted when I was a teenager, and thanks to this team, it finally made it home. If I had called this shop first, I likely could have driven it back months earlier. Huge thanks to Kelsey, Michael M., and Leticia T. -- they absolutely deserve the recognition. I will 100% use this location again and recommend it to anyone dealing with out-of-state or private-sale vehicle paperwork. I wish they were in NY. read more

Maryland Express Tag & Title located in the Walmart in Bowie exceeded my expectations! Deshon and Melissa took great care of me this last 30 days. Deshon was extremely patient and very knowledgeable despite my many questions. When I stumbled on and hurriedly purchased a used car they helped me get up and running literally within in minutes. While the cost may be a tad bit more the convenience cannot be matched! Highly recommend! read more

This is located inside the Walmart in Bowie, MD. We stopped to get new tags for my husband one evening. So when he returned his tags I went ahead to to renew my registration, which was due soon. The wait wasn't too long the first time. The customer service rep. Was nice and personable! The next day there was no wait, and the customer service was awesome. It was so much easier than going to the DMV and sitting on those hard benches with that number and waiting forever! I recommend going there! The hours are very convenient! read more

This company is horrible. They inputted the incorrect address on my title and registration from correct paperwork I provided. I noticed it once I returned to my home. I contacted them twice about this issue. They agreed they had inputted it incorrectly, but now it was my problem to resolve with the DMV. They then instructed me to contact the DMV to have their problem corrected. This is a huge problem now as I need to go to the DMV and pay for a new title and registration. read more

Do not use! I submitted an order and was quoted 3-5 business days. After that time frame, I was told the MVA was backed up and my order was in the pipeline. I called every week Monday & Friday for 3 weeks to inquire about my delayed order, each time I was told about the MVA delays. After the 3rd week, I called and inquired and was told my order was processing, so I took matters into my own hands. I reached out to a family member who works at MVA headquarters, they told me they are processing orders a week after my was submitted. My family member told me my order wasn't in the system, obviously it had to be a mistake since I've been in communication with MD express title weekly. I called back again in the same day and was told about the delays again, after mentioning my family members information, they quickly mentioned they checked the records and realized they forgot to submit my order. That means each time I called and was told my order was in processing, they never checked! I'm beyond heated, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and they took me on a ride. Because of their gross negligence, the buyer for my vehicle has backed out costing me time and money. Do not do business with them, they will lie and try to take advantage of you! A great Thank You to Artina, one of the title representatives who works at this Bowie location. We my husband and I are new to the state, we got our needed documentation for car registration and headed to the MD express tag & title, when speaking with Artina, she noted that we were 2-days late after getting our drivers license... (which we did not know that once you get your license you "must" register your car within 60-days) otherwise you are hit hard with fines... So, instead of just charging this outrageous amount she gave us the option to go to an actual MVA to see if they waive it since it was only just 2-days late. We went to MVA and "YES" they waived it!!
