Needed jeans altered and wanted to keep the hem I had. She did an excellent job, and quick, and good price. Definitely recommend.

    Edvin G Tailoring

I've been coming to Edvin for a couple of years now, ever since moving to the Houston area. I…read morewear mainly business casual (slacks and sports coat) or suits. I'm generally wearing higher end classic men's wear... Ermenigildo Zena, Canali, Corneliani, and such. I like my clothing to fit properly, and given the $ investment in good men's suits, I'm picky about who I want working on my clothing. I tried out several tailors upon moving to the area, and Edvin G. Tailor is my go-to for everything now. I'm dropping something off every few weeks or so, so I've had pretty much the full gambit of services, with the exception of having custom clothing made. I've had pants taken in, let out, shortened, lengthened, and a couple of pairs that were a bit wide at the bottom tapered to a more modern slim fit. On jackets I've had nearly every form of tailoring imaginable done to off the rack suits to improve their fit. In an extreme example... I ordered a Corneliani jacket on clearance from Saks. I got a great price, but unfortunately no returns allowed. This particular coat had a much different fit/sizing than any of my other Corneliani items, the shoulders were much to big. It's possible it was actually mislabeled by the factory, as the shouldered were a good 2 inches to wide. Most of the time, this is the kiss of death for a garment, because shoulders are one of the hardest things to tailor. Most tailors won't/can't even mess with it. I wrote the jacket off as an expensive mistake, but showed it to Edvin anyways. Edvin said "no problem, I can fix that", and ultimately complete re-cut the shoulder and upper sleeves, brought in the chest, and tapered in the waist for a slimmer fit. It was about $150, but well worth it, especially given the cost of the coat. It's now one of the best fitting garments I have. As a good rule-of-thumb, a tailor that can re-make shoulders can do anything. Prices are pretty much on par for the area. I've found cheaper places, but none I would trust working on a suit. I'd let just about anyone hem a pair of jeans, but you want someone you can trust when working on a fine suit.

I highly recommend this tailor. I have had 3 items tailored, including an expensive leather jacket,…read moreand all the work has been exceptional. Definitely 5 stars.
