To this place is a hole in the wall and super dirty. BUT... We go here and have for years to support them. But, besides the prices going up and it being somewhere you typically wouldnt ever wanna be in we go because the ice cream and the kids like it. They give you a punch card. So tell me how I spend $60 in Ice cream and they give you ONE PUNCH ON A PUNCH CARD?? The Macedonia raspado was very filling and satisfied my sweet tooth. The prices are inexpensive and they make sure your raspado is nearly overflowing. I gave them 3 stars because I didn't feel too comfortable when I was inside. Some of the staff weren't wearing their face masks correctly. Additionally, there were patrons inside that were close to one another. The space could have been cleaner, too. We ended up taking our treats to go! read more

Deliciouso! I was cruising around the south side and BAM it hit me! I needed a raspado STAT. As soon as I entered the mariachi music was bumpin' and I knew I was in for a treat. I recall hearing of the mangoyada previously, and having little knowledge of what the menu said, since it was mostly in Spanish, I went with that. It was shaved ice, topped with mango, and chamoy. Seeing I had no clue what chamoy was it was a big gamble. However, it paid off! It was unlike anything I had before. Fruity, salty, refreshing, savory, spicy-all at the same time. Chamoy is a sauce made from apricots, vinegar, chili and it is good. The green side of the building is the ice cream, agua frescas, respados, and other menu items I am sure I would love if I knew what they were. I yearn to know what is in the bag of tostitos that people are devouring. They take credit card, but if it is under $10 they charge .50 cents. No problemo! This is a nice little raspados place on the south side, they've got all the comfort foods you could really ask for: Tostilocos, nachos, raspados, nieves, etc, and it's priced fair as well. I usually order a tamarindo raspado with nieve and la lechera. It's a nice mixture of sweet, tangy and creamy goodness. Every event is organized by her and created between you and her to be just right. Her location is great for out of town guests because her location is right next to a hotel with very reasonable rates. If you have a party or something coming up definitely check her out. She has a full kitchen and Bar and is set up to BYO everything if you would like. I really liked her optimism and enthusiasm. HOLY YUMMY! I have been wanting to try out a raspado recently (I have had them just not what I feel were the correct version) and so my boyfriend took me to this little place because he had heard good things from people at work. They were not wrong! He told the person taking our order to surprise us with a favorite and we got two yummy ice cream shaved ice wonderland :) It was strawberry creamy and flavorful. It was topped with creme and that just added to the awesome. We will go back to try others or might just stick with this yummy treat. read more

Around this time of the year in the AZ heat one of my favorite places to go to is Raspados MaryMar! They have Something for everybody! You can get scoops of creamy ice cream or go for the traditional raspado mixed with your favorite fruit, shaved ice and lechera! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, specially if it is your first time there they make you feel at home! Best raspados I've had in Tucson. They give lots of fruit and juice and they always taste so fresh. Also, their other snacks are also good and they never skimp on the fruit or juice. I'm a spicy raspado person so I always order "El Niño" or Mangoyadas and they're amazing. I've also had the elote, tostitos preparados & the duros. All great & staff is great! Instead of my usual peach flavor raspado I decided to try a new flavor recommended by the lady helping me. The flavor was strawberry and pecans. I am not a fan of sno-cones in general but I will indulge in one from here once or twice a year. My husband and kids on the other hand love this place. They usually get a strawberry juice and pieces sno-cone with a scoop of hard vanilla ice cream, some Lechera and topped with more shaved ice and fresh strawberry juice and pieces and more Lechera. I usually get a peach raspado that is a refreshing and delicious as it sounds. They also have select hard ice cream and for a cone, banana splits or some other type of smoothie. It is great if you do not want a raspado. They also have these wonderful concoctions: 1) mangoyada is typically made with chamoy sauce, mangos, lime juice, and chili powder and is decorated with a tamarind straw; 2) tostilocos is a bag of Tostitos is cut lengthwise and filled with cucumber, jicama, Japanese peanuts, pork rinds, tamarind candy, lemon, chamoy (a tangy apricot sauce) and hot sauce; 3) cup of elote (corn); which, are essentially corn on the cob or served in a cup. Except there is a twist. You get them from a lady with her shopping cart filled with all the ingredients. She smothers the corn on the cob in butter, mayonnaise, cheese, hot sauce, Tajin and lemon. If your mouth isn't watering, it actually is because you haven't ever had it and you need to now; 4) duritos, which is fried, puffed wheat and topped off with the Mexican staples: lemon, salt and hot sauce and last but not least; 5) a sandia or pina loca (crazy watermelon or crazy pineapple) which is like the mangoyada but half of the fruit as the bowl. So far in south Tucson these are best. Yet it's really a hit or miss.. Place feels dirty and sticky. Last time I went the raspado was plain syrupie. I've had better raspados here I don't know what's going on I will give them another try. read more
