I came to bahama bucks twice within a couple days and the service was awful. My order was incorrect the second time around and i was not given any chance to correct it at the window because it was shut in my face. They took quite a long time to make just TWO snow cones. Wow! I'm so upset I just now discovered this place! I pass by it all the time but you can't tell what it is just from passing by! They should definitely invest in having some signage with pictures of the delicious concoctions! That would definitely cause people to stop in! We only came by because I Yelped the closest "ice cream shop" and they popped up with a few others but the Yelp pics got my attention and that was it! The inside is decorated in a beachy/Hawaiian-themed feel and super cute! Their large array of syrups are on full display. They also offer yummy drinks. I had their Tiger's Blood shave ice with ice cream & sweetened condensed milk on top - OH MY! I got the small but next time I'll opt for the mini as they are HEFTY-sized! The young girls at our service were super friendly and helpful. The only thing I saw that needed attention was their outdoor seating. Who would have know there are shaved places outside of Kona Ice trucks and the fair! Right around the corner from a family member's house we found our way to Bahama Bucks for dessert. They have a wide variety of flavors and toppings. They also offer smoothies and shake like drinks. I tried the orange creamsicle with a tropical topping. It was really good with a creamy center. They were both very tasty and full of flavors. We decided to go through the drive thru and the gentleman was courteous and fast. There's 4 employees tonight and all 4 are talking taking their time. No cars. When we got our snow cone there was barely any flavor and all ice at the bottom. At $5 plus and it being one of the only things they serve on the menu, you would think it's hard to mess up. It was not busy at all. These employees are not working for free, bare minimum expectation is for them to do their job correctly. Their solution was to fill my cup with juice. Terrible experience. I stopped by this place today to give it a shot. I ordered the bomb pop and I believe it was the blue coconut because I love bomb pops and coconut on almost anything tastes better. The cup came with the colors of a bomb pop and a a whole bomb Popsicle stuck inside. The coconut was blue and had a cute little umbrella as decoration. It's cool how they stick with a theme. The bomb pop drink tasted like a bomb pop and was very sweet at first few bites. I had to get used to the sweetness one small bite at a time, but once I mixed up all the flavors it was nice especially towards the bottom. I was full after the bomb pop but I did take a few bites and I really enjoyed the coconut flavor. I put that in the freezer for Sunday football treat. To describe the ice and flavors in these drink would be somewhere between a snow cone and a Mr Misty from DQ. The ice is fluffy, light and airy. It holds the flavored syrup very well. I would like to go try a sour flavor like lemon to compare with my Eegees favorite. When I do try it I'm sure with todays results I can see me bumping this star review up higher. Great experience at this refreshing "dessert" oasis. With so many fantastic flavors to choose from, it's hard to imagine anyone not finding something they love. Their options include their original shaved ice available in dozens of flavors, a tasty variety of flavored iced mochas, sodas and lots of smoothies to choose from. The blue coconut flavor was so yummy and it totally took me back to my childhood when I'd chase down the snowcone truck driver with my 25 cents in hand. The shaved ice here is brilliantly light yet the flavor is strong and well incorporated. The cream was swirled in quite nicely creating a somewhat creamy mouthfeel every few bites. It was just great. As an added bonus, they have these neat color changing spoons that change based on temperature. Pretty fun! The service was good, the prices are fair, and with so many options to choose from, this place is a no-brainer. This was my first time here. No line to order. I did take a while to decide what I wanted, so many good looking choices. I ordered and sat to wait. There were 5 girls working behind the counter and seemed to be going non stop. About 3 or 4 customers ordered after me. After a bit I realized people that ordered after me had their order. Not knowing what they got, I thought maybe there's was a fast item and didn't think much of it. 20 minutes after ordering and everyone else waiting had their order, I went to the counter to see where mine was. When one of the girls further back from the counter heard my name, she stop walked over to a cup and said "it's over here, it was put in the wrong place. I'll redo the top." I waited a few more minutes for the top to be redone then finally got my shaved ice. The top was pretty tasty and enjoyable. When I got to the section that wasn't redone, It was a mushy mess of the two flavors. I'd expect this as I near the middle to bottom of the cup, not at the very top. Who knows how long my order and been sitting in the wrong spot. And if an employee knew it was put in the wrong place why wasn't something done about it right away. read more

They have drive-through service but we decided to savor the experience on site. Being a newbie, I needed some time to peruse the extensive menu. While waiting for my sweet treat, I spent the time admiring the framed photos of the original Bahama Buck's store hanging on the walls. Then it was time to get down to business. I believe in making a good first impression and the Strawberry Cheesecake shaved ice definitely impressed my highly-tuned sweet tooth. The first spoonful was a sweet tickle in the mouth. Been here a few times now because my girlfriend loves the place. The reoccurring problem is always the service you get when coming here. Going through the drive through is a fifteen-twenty minute experience every time for just 2 drinks. The place is ran by high schoolers most of the time and that can lead to slow service and sometimes a bad product. It's a bit of a drive from my side of town but the shaved ice is worth it (especially during hot days in Tucson). Their smallest size is plenty for 1 person, and you can add as many flavors as you like. If you haven't visited before, I recommend looking at the menu and deciding on your flavors before you get in line. They have a TON of syrup selections. A TON--I was overwhelmed. Luckily, the server swooped into help and suggested their natural flavors. I tried the natural pineapple and another natural flavor (I think it was watermelon?) and the regular cherry. The natural flavors definitely tasted better to me. Add some toppings to your ice! One negative thing was that when I got to the bottom third of my shaved ice, the syrup flavor was extremely strong and it was very mushy. I couldn't drink or eat it so I threw it out. I'm not sure if this is a flaw in how the drink was made or if I just need to limit the number of flavors depending on the cup size. They also have a nice offering of items that aren't shaved ice, like smoothies and iced coffee. Everyone in my party enjoyed their drinks. SLOWEST SERVICE EVER! I love this place but, god forbid, if there are 2 or 3 people already in line, it's gonna be 30 minutes by the time you get your ice in a cup. Everyone is always friendly and I like the business, but whoever owns it is doing everything they can to make sure the service is as slow as possible. Please hire more kids so it takes less than 30 minutes for a simple snow cone. I've seen people just get out of line in the drive through and thats when there's only 4-5 cars which = 35 min wait. it's just ridiculous. Hire more people and stop skimping on the salaries. read more

Move over Raspados and Eegees, there is a new dessert in town. I came here for the first time and experienced a very light and fluffy cup of flavored snow. I have ordered "snow" drinks at boba tea places, but have never eaten soft snow like this before. I loved it. I did the cream add-on which gave it a little bit of milky sweetness. On top of the tons of flavors you can choose from, "snowballs" are on the menu (not sure if these are edible). Next time I will see what their smoothies are like and hope they offer some other options with some real fruit and less sugar. Since your allowed to mix 2 flavors I always get a Margarita mixed with another flavor. Yes I've had strange mixes before but most of them are AMAZING and I've had almost every single flavor mixed with Margarita. Wanna add a kick to it add sour sand.
