My advice: just avoid this business. I called before arriving. I like a certain process done to my nails. I've always had them done with dip powder for the color with the acrylic overlay. It makes my nails hard. I explained this over the phone to the "owner". I arrived and picked out the toe color. As you can see the color match is horrible. I'm almost 40 with glow in the dark dip powder nails. (See attached photo) One nail doesn't have even color distribution compared to the rest. When the guy was finished and I tried to explain that it wasn't done right he threw a fit in an Attempt to make me feel stupid. Well it worked. Lots of tears shed. There is a new girl at Mary's, I haven't yet had a bad experience until today. Mary asked if I wanted a pedicure while I waited to get my nails done. The girl clearly was not trained , had no idea what she was doing . Did not rub my feet one time, barely out any lotion on my legs, soaked my feet over 35 min. 3 other people who came in 30 minutes after Me had all pedicure done and starting on nails before the girl even painted my toes. I was in the chair a total of 1 hour and 34 minutes for a simple gel pedicure. Could have been fine if that consisted of a massage or something but literally she fumbled around knowing nothing. I've known Mary since she worked at Walmart. Such a kind soul and great artist, and she has a sense of humor! V did my pedicure and she really took her time and did a great job with ingrown toenails and her massage was wonderful Great customer service! . i asked for the first photo of nails. they made them crooked and the base was pink even though i said i wanted the base to be skin color, and in the picture i showed them you could clearly see that wasn't pink for the base. i asked them multiple times if they could fix the crooked nails and they ignored me until i asked if they could just take them off. then they asked mary to fix them and they were still crooked so i asked the man to take them off. he cut them off and still charged me $20. read more

I had a bad experience overal.. I asked for my nails to be cut down and a French tip. the service was decent up until the polish. They can't do a simple straight French tip. I dont usually say anything to them but I did today and they said that I can come back in 2 weeks and get them redone. Go somewhere else and spend your money. read more

Mary's nail salon is overrated every time I go there either my nails are peeling off within three days or they're chipping in breaking after a week and a half worst nail salon I've ever been to in my entire life they don't listen to what you want they do what they want especially V she makes her nails way too thin to her they break super easy not only that she doesn't file them smooth there bumpy the topcoat on my white nails always turn brown and my hands are never even one hand is always longer than the other and there's always at least 1 to 3 nails that are crooked and if she messes up in the chair she'll try and just rip it off your finger it hurts not only that she gets to drill happy she will start drilling away and hit your skin and not even care there a terrible nail salon I wouldn't go to them read more

EVERYONE loves Mary and her staff at the salon. It is always busy and they get you done. Because her staff is so great at multitasking, they all work together as a team to get you on your way timely. The other salons just don't have the help to get you in a chair without a 30 minute wait, especially for higher end pedi's and specialty nails. Mary's ombré nails and glitter! WOW gorgeous! Also, Mary is an ethical person and she will just tell you, "Don't do this type of nail for you. It's not healthy or good for your nails. I want to take care of you and not loose my customer by not telling you what you may not want." She doesn't have to say anything. I have a healthcare background, NEVER had a pedicure. NO ONE touched my feet except my husband, because he put a ring on it. Mary's is CLEAN, it is ESTHETIC and they maintain HYGIENIC practices. I had my first pedicure there. I go every week now because it helps your circulation, makes me feel like a pampered queen and love my Volcano Honey Pearl smelling fantastic, while that miracle chair massages my neck and my feet feel like BUTTER! Reply to Jeanna M. The real story is as follows. I am the other client in the salon that requested the French tip ombre and had the unfortunate encounter with Jeanna M. Many others would tell you the same!! Marys is amazing!! She doesn't discriminate and she's the nicest. Don't believe Jeanna for a second. This afternoon was my first time at Marys. I went in and took my daughter with me. I was getting her toes painted and heard a chick in there in the back part of the salon talking. She seemed fine and I wasn't really sure what was going on until I went back there to get my nails done. Mary is the only person that knows how to do the French tip ombre and that is what this chick wanted. When she came in she showed two other people what she wanted but didn't show Mary and Mary started to do her friends nails. They told her they would need to soak her nails off and then she would have to wait. Mary found out after the fact about an hour later that she wanted the French tip ombre. This girl was getting an attitude and being rude to Mary about the fact that her nails were burning because they were in the acetone too long. Like she honestly couldn't make the adult decision to take her hands out of the acetone. I get that she was upset she had to wait but she was being very rude about it. Mary told her she would do her nails. I was standing right there and Jeanna told her no. And I told her she could go before me and get her nails done and she told me that it was fine and that her friend was already done so she didn't want to wait. So that was on her. But then she proceeded to tell Mary that she was going to call the police because they were harassing her. I'm sure if anyone knows Mary they know she is probably not capable of harassing anyone. That's when I couldn't keep my mouth shut anymore. I told her that she was being rude and that it wasn't okay for her to be acting the way she was. I also told her that no one was harassing her and she told me that I was harassing her. And that she was going to call the police. I told her to go right ahead because I'm from Guthrie and whichever cop shows up I'm going to know them. She shut up real quick and told me to worry about my daughter. Like get real. My daughter's fine. She's got my phone and she's got a sucker. She also called me uneducated. Yet she couldn't be educated enough to take her hands out of the acetone. The cuticle cleaning was not great, color application was not the best. The staff talk too much amongst themselves, gave me a headache.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews, but after several incidents, I feel that I have to. First, I want to say that I have been going to Mary's since she opened in her new spot (she used to work in DaVi Nails in Walmart, which is now closed). At first, she seemed to be the same as she was when she worked in DaVi, friendly with me, asking me about my mom, etc. Over time, I noticed a change in her attitude toward me as if I did something to offend her or my presence annoyed her (on another note, one of the former owners of DaVi Nails acted that same way toward me just before they sold the place). The appointments that I made with her were not honored and it was frustrating to walk in fifteen minutes early to make sure she could begin on time and find her doing someone else's nails (and I don't mean finishing up, I mean just beginning). Once, I came back twice in the same day trying to 'catch' her when she wasn't busy, to no avail. Things came to a head for me when I asked for an appointment and she flat-out told me she doesn't take appointments. I thought that was odd, but let it go. I continued to try to 'catch' her when the salon wasn't busy, but that's pretty much impossible when you work an 8-5 job M-F and everyone else who does has the same idea to go during their lunch hour. The final straw for me was when I went thirty minutes before they opened on a Sunday and no one else was there. They arrived about ten minutes later and when I got out after the door was opened and she was setting up, she told me I would have to come back later because she had three appointments coming in at Noon. I asked her when did she start accepting appointments again and she said they were for eyelash extensions, which take hours to do. I knew that was a crock of bull and decided to take my money elsewhere. I have to agree wholeheartedly with Jeanna M. that people of color and their allies should look elsewhere for nail care. If ever a town needed more nail salons, it's Guthrie (instead, every time we get a new restaurant, it's a Mexican food place.
