    Masala cheese dosa

Cute new spot with lots of seating and great lunch specials! The food is legit and great value. Service is a tiny bit slow but worth the wait! My husband and I haven't had a dosa since back when we used to live in California, so it was great to have that option again. The cheese masala dosa was delicious, so light and crisp and satisfying. We got it as an appetizer and each got our own lunch specials and we had basically another meal leftover. The baigan bharta (eggplant) was addictive, probably the best I've ever had. And my husband really enjoyed his chicken curry, but I feel like mine was better! Loved that the lunch specials came with both rice and mini-naan, and also dessert! The garlic naan was so fresh and lovely. And the mango lassi I got was delicious, too. Will definitely be back.

This restaurant is phenomenal!! Small spot but big flavors. Omg the food was sooo delicious!! I tried dishes I never had & loved them so much. Every bite carried so much flavor. I've had Indian food before but this place surpassed all those other places. It's nothing else I can say but please give this place a try you won't be disappointed

Excited to welcome Masala Symphony to the Conshohocken neighborhood! I ordered takeout and tried the veggie samosas, masala dosa, and chicken tikka masala. Also added 2 orders of naan--garlic and onion. Everything was delicious and very flavorful! I could eat the naan with every meal. I also like that you can choose your preferred spice level on a variety of dishes. Can't wait to come back and dine-in to try more of the menu!

Desserts- Royal Kesar Kheer and Gajar Halwa

Great new spot in conshy! The owners/workers were all so kind and welcoming. You could tell they are proud of their restaurant and the food they make. Prices were very reasonable as well. We did restaurant week, so were able to try a bunch of different things. To start, the vegetable samosas were great and the tandoori chicken was very tender. For entrees we got Chicken Tikka Masala and Railway Chicken Curry. Both were very tender and the sauce had so much flavor. We will be back!

HOWEVER I thought they did a stellar job with sauce, which is what brought us back. I went with my second favorite dish, chicken korma. The sauce was great, the chicken a bit dry. Deviating from his usual vindaloo, T lived in the fast lane (ha!) and ordered lamb roganjosh. The sauce was excellent, described in the menu as "yogurt, onions, ginger and garlic in a traditional curry" but there's the unmistakable addition of cinnamon. And it works! Our appetizer, tangy eggplant, was crisp and spicy with a portion large enough to feed four as a starter. What made the evening notable were four delightful octogenarians seated next to us. I was tasked with the awesome responsibility of guiding them through the menu. My recommendations luckily were well received. The restaurant was practically empty Saturday evening. "I guess the waitress is too busy to come over," one of our new friends said sarcastically. Which brings me to the help. Our server, the same person we had last time, is noticeably timid, hesitant to effectively interact with her customers. The neighboring table agreed and continued to wait patiently. Nirvana is still considered a byob, though they may actually serve alcohol. In any case, they now impose a $10 corkage fee, when before they charged nothing.

But if you are starving or are going somewhere else after dinner, this is not your place. It took forever for the ONE waitress to take our order. Never refilled water glasses. And then we were told we couldn't buy wine by the glass, you had to buy the whole bottle. After the website said we would be charged a corking fee if we brought our own wine. I would do take out. But probably not go back to eat inside.

We are still blown away by the amazing food quality and the lovely server who always genuinely treats us like we are family members, after having only met us twice! Even though it has been over 1 month since our first trip to New Era (I live in Manhattan and my partner resides in Phila), our server remembered everything we had told her about our food preferences and other friendly details shared with her. Our typical order is the Aloo Gobi, Chicken Chettinad, and naan. The food is always generously served piping hot, the chicken is fresh and tender, and the very flavorful curries are not watered down. The naan could not have been fresher; we immediately requested a 2nd order of naan after taking one bite of the pillowy goodness. It was as soft as a cloud. The kheer was sweet and creamy - simply expertly made just like the curries and naan. The chef here is absoutely incredible. He may have been the very kind gentleman that waved to us on our way out. Anyway, New Era Plymouth Meeting is one of Philly's best kept secret and now our top choice for Indian cuisine. We nearly walked into the place for a 2nd day in a row last night bc we were craving the curries again and all the genuine kindness. Don't let the modest appearance of New Era, Plymouth Meeting fool you. There is magic going on inside in terms of the food and service. Also, the interior is so clean and comfortable. Even the lighting is calming. We feel like we are being served in our kitchen by close friends. After regularly dining in various top Indian restuarants in Manhattan, the District and throughout the U.S. for over 20 years, I still wouldn't even hesitate to say that New Era has some of the best food, not to mention the friendliest and hardworking server and a fabulous menu! We can't wait to return!

But today is Tuesday, friends, and fortune smiled upon me. We had an Indian FEAST tonight and it's some of the best Indian food I've ever had (and we love it in this house). There was garlic naan, soft and wonderfully garlicky, and a light, crispy masala dosa served with chutney and sambar that was absolutely to die for. The chicken tikka was rich and spicy, and the Andrha Shrimp Curry was incredible. Delicious and SPICY. We were sat as a party of 5 and were told very firmly that the kitchen closed at 10. So we figured it out quickly. Then we waited and waited for the waitress to come back. I gave chase around the corner and at 9:55 finally got her to come over to order. As we were ordering, the waitress cut my bud Vog off telling him to hurry. Insane. Then one in our party had to make a call but left us his order to put in - they didn't have any of it. Then she didn't write any of our order down -- 5 people. I ordered the butter chicken mild, which comes with rice. I added garlic naan and cheese naan as well. When the food came out it was solid - I'll give them that. Naan was good -- BUT THEY FORGOT THE CHEESE NAAN I ORDERED. Would have been nice to write that down ??? If this was take out - it would probably be 3.5-4 stars but the horrible attitude, the pushiness when ordering, and the you don't belong her feeling we were given is inexcusable.

Flavors are on-point here! Portions seemed a bit small, but we were definitely completely stuffed by the time we were through, and we cleaned off everything, including the leftover sauce on the bottoms of our bowls with our naan. Peshawari naan was a pleasant surprise! Good sweet and slightly nutty flavor complemented a lot of the dishes that we got. Meat is tender and they are pretty generous with the quantities of meat compared to other Indian places I've visited in the past. Mango lassis were also decent-- nothing to wow about, but solid, and a good way to finish off the meal after all the flavor bombing from the other dishes. Ambience is simple and there's not a lot of room for large groups here. Indoor and outdoor is available, but just expect a simple homey environment and nothing too fancy!
