All business folk too. Dare I say it was always on time? Although the drivers sort of remind me of Lloyd the delivery guy from Scrubs. Moving…read moreto a new apartment off of Comm Ave in September, I thought, hey, I'll save a little money by taking the B line to work every day. Probably one of the stupidest things I've ever done. This bus gets me from its first stop to Federal Street in under a half an hour, without the hassle of stopping at too many red lights, dealing with BU kids who have a state of the art fitness center yet can't be bothered to walk 100 extra feet to get to class, and people who smell like they haven't showered since the Reagan 80's. I have an extra half an hour in the morning to relax, an extra half an hour at night, and all for $30 a month extra. Well worth it. If you live within a mile of one of these express buses and you have to go downtown in the morning - this is the only way to travel. Pay the extra $30 - it will immediately improve the quality of your commute, and the quality of your life, and I stand by that statement.

Her driving skills are unmatched compared to other bus drivers I've experienced. Her bus rides feel like a vacation smooth peaceful and enjoyable. Some bus drivers have a heavy foot and stop the bus too abruptly causing a lot of jerking and almost causing people to fall over which is dangerous. Perhaps those heavy foot drivers need to be trained by Karen because she is very professional and drives the bus phenomenally. 10 out 10 for me with Karen the cute blonde, respectfully expressing.

120 bus at 4:50pm on 10/20/18 ran red light (not just a little, was a solid red for at least 10…read moreseconds) and almost hit a person pushing a baby in the crosswalk with the walk sign lit. When I asked the woman driver how did she not see the red light or, more importantly the stroller in the crosswalk, her response was not fit to print. As much as a terrible "professional" driver she is, somehow, almost impossibly, she's a worse person.

Since I'm driving again, I only use it for times that parking is a nightmare, like the airport or to the State Fair, but I found out that I could use similar service while visiting other cities. Bonus! After doing some pre-leg work to get an account, my husband and I were able to call ahead and schedule The Ride to pick us up and take us anywhere we wanted to go in Boston for TWO BUCKS each ride! We never had to take a bus or train, and the longest we ever waited was five minutes. Forget taking a trolley ride of the city, we had tour guides wherever we went-local drivers that were happy to give us the scoop! It was much more organized that the system in Minnesota-professional, courteous, and made traveling with a disability much easier than it would have been if I had to take buses, trains, and taxis, or if we had to rent a car in order to see the city. This way I was able to focus on having a great trip even though walking long distances is hard for me. This was a great service!

They are firing many of the drivers if they have the slightest, routine health defect (which is just about everyone). They have too few drivers and are routinely half an hour to 45 minutes late. I have been late for many appointments. My driver Thursday told me they just have too few drivers now. When you call to ask where your ride is, they are told to say it's just around the corner. When you call in another 15 minutes, they routinely lie again. It's really a shame that handicapped and mobility impaired people are treated like this. But, we're not the 1%, so many feel we don't deserve anything.

In this location you can't buy a ticket so if you don't have one you may not be able to ride. I had a paper ticket but not enough credit for the ride. The driver was very nice and allowed me to board anyway. Later on my trip I bought what is called a CharlieCard that allows you inlayed trips in a 24 hour period for $11 bucks. I rode to Copley Square and then Government Center and back to Longwood Medical. It was easy, on time, clean and quick. It seemed very safe and all the stations were clean and seemed safe. My only down grade of one star is that they don't tell you that in some locations you can ride for free. I like free but has I known, I would not have purchased the CharlieCard. Also, the stations themselves are not well marked. Fortunately I everyone I met and asked for help was very nice and gave me great direcitons. The other downgrade is that if there are alot of people standing, you may not see the 'next stop' info on the scrolling sign. Also, many of the stops did not have the name of the stop on the wall so you could confirm your location. Overall I thought it was a very good and affordable option for getting around a very big city.

There's the 214, 216, and then the 214/216. It becomes a "combo" bus after 7pm (214/216) meaning that it goes to both Germantown and Hough's Neck. The 214 goes to Germantown and the 216 goes to Hough's Neck. Service has always been good - no problems with this bus. It gets really crowded after 7 because it runs once an hour at 7:20pm, 8:20pm, e.t.c.

I can't say that I've seen this level of service at any above ground Green Line station. There are audible and visual announcements of the next train and there are some areas where you can sit/lean while you wait. The station is pretty well lit and there's a taxi stand though both times I was here, I did not see any waiting taxis. There is a ramp boarding area for those who need such assistance in boarding the quite high Green Line train cars. Brookline Village is on the D branch of the Green Line between Longwood (inbound) and Brookline Hills (outbound).

We were here for 5 days and bought the 7 day pass. This got us full access to the trains, buses and ferries for our entire trip. We stayed in an AirBnB close to Cambridge and took the Red Line into the city everyday. From there we also took the Green Line multiple times and the Blue Line to get to the airport. If you don't mind public transportation and walking just a short distance to where you need to go, the Charlie Card is well worth the value and even though we had to buy the 7 day pass for a 5 day visit, we got our money worth and then some. We checked Uber some days and the price of one Uber was the same as the Charlie Card for a week.

The Charlie Card. In theory I like the idea of tap and go. It seems pretty quick. When normal people use it, it actually is quick. Unfortunately there seem to be more morons than normal people that ride the T these days. But, the card itself is not the biggest beef I have. It's the double-chargin-trying-to-rip-me-off aspect that really ticks me off. The story: Today I get on the silverline like I do every morning. After I tap my card I'm notified I only have 15 cents left. I decide to get off at New England Medical center to add some money to the card than just take the subway into work. Cool beans. So, I tap my card at the little kiosk. I slide my credit card and ask that 10 bucks be put on it. I have to tap my charlie card again to complete the transaction. No go. It won't read my card even after several "tapping" attempts. Alright. It says my transaction has been voided. I try again. This time it takes. Yeah! I have ten bucks! I go to the turnstile/saloon door and tap my card. BZZZZ!! Go see an agent. Screw that- they are about as helpful as a stick up my ass. I try again, and it goes through but it says I only have $8 on my card! WTF! I should have started out with $10.15- minus $1.70 means I have more than $8 left on my card. Now, if I want to squabble over the amount I'm owed I'm pretty sure I have to go the eighth level of hell. I don't think I should have to do that. And, on top of all that- I just checked my checking account. Yep. They are charging me ten bucks twice. God. I love the MBTA.
