He was a bald man with glasses and a big beard, and he was genuinely one of the sweetest and most caring people I've met while traveling. He was patient with everyone, calm, respectful, and made sure people were okay throughout the ride. That kind of hospitality is honestly hard to find nowadays. Usually traveling stresses me out a lot, but for the first time I actually felt relaxed and comfortable during the trip. You are irregular, sometimes showing up, sometimes not. You never know what's in that damn pinata. Your inexcusable infrequency and constant tardiness are made that much more miserable given that you are one of Union Square residents' only modes of public transport. Even though you can't be a real Line, or even a fake Line a la Silver, you could at least be a better damn bus. I would like to ask for an upgrade to the double-decker buses with nice seating options like the 73 but I wouldn't dare. I've heard you're no better on the other end of your route. I was really sad when I realized I had forgotten to take it with me and really thought I would never see it again. When I called the lost and found number I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the bus driver had turned in my lost purse (or as the operator called it "pocketbook"). I picked it up today and everything was in there. This restored my faith in the bus system. Also, I have to add that even with the delays on both these buses, my bus tracking application on my android phone (boston busmap) allows me to estimate the time when the buses are arriving so I can plan accordingly. Yea the stations are pretty dirty and the trains could definitely use an update, but they still get you where you need to go. They have trains running constantly and we never have to wait for more than 15 minutes for a train. They can get pretty crowded depending on the time of day, but that's not really their fault. There are so many stops and we used just about every line to get to where we needed to be. If I came back to Boston, I will be buying another Charlie Card to get around.
