Back in late April, I discovered that a temporary storage unit to house my gun collection had been broken into. My home was going through hurricane damage repairs, and I felt a need to move them. One of the guns was pawned here. In order to get it back, I can either pay them what they paid the thief or take them to court. I attempted to negotiate a 1/2 price payback to them, noting they were not the only victim. It still surprises me that stolen items cannot be turned over to their rightful owners. This, in my opinion, should not be the responsibility of the owner to pay after they have already purchased them. Needless to say, this is day 9 of a 10-day response required from the owner, and there is no response as yet. Doing the right thing, even negotiating, is the fair thing to do. I found the owner argumentative and unwilling to see anything but their point of view. read more

Seller beware! I had some old firearms I decided to get rid of so went to Mason Ave Firearms and pawn. I got the lengthy 'used car spiel'. Plus, one of the revolvers had a holster that he placed under the TV before parading me around the shop to show me how low he sells guns for; how obvious. When I got back to the counter the holster was gone. He thought he was pulling a fast one in addition to his lowball offer. Bottom line: he took advantage of an elderly person. i would rather be me, even though I was taken advantage of, then to go through life as a sleezy, smooth, fast-talking huckster. I've had nothing but outstanding service since I found this great place. I purchased a hard to find pistol online and had it shipped here as I needed a FFL to receive it. This wasn't my first rodeo, I buy weapons online often. The employees made it a breeze to get my gun. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I also perused the weapons they had in stock and the prices were outstanding. I definitely will be back. It is also the cleanest and organized pawn shop I have ever been in. Rudest people I encountered in a weekend at Daytona. Had a few minutes to kill so I dropped to find a bargain to take home and was greeted by the foulest bunch of hillbilly's I've seen in a long time. When the old fart that sells guns asked me what I would pay for something he was putting out I shot him price and said without seeing it first. He started yelling and cussing f-bombs and carried on about how he wasn't going to be ripped off etc.. (hes nuts, his daughter tried to get "Daddy " to calm down but "daddy" has no filter or common sense. Avoid this place like the plague, rude, overpriced. Took my cash to another gun shop down the road and spent almost $1000. If I could make this ZERO I would. read more

The owner of this store has some serious unresolved mental issues. Here's a recap of what happened two days ago when I went into this place looking for antique guns. I found an 1880s Marlin lever action that somebody took a wire brush to and completely removed both metal and wood finish. Also found two 1870s Colt pocket revolvers in 22 cal, one re-nickeled, the other with almost zero original finish. When I asked how much the guns were, the owner asked me how much I can offer. I dont normally operate like this and usually would say "as little as possible" but I decided to make him an offer of $1200 for all three, $ 800 for the Marlin and $200 for each of the little Colts, all guns in wall hanger condition. Thats literally what I pay for them at any collectible gun shows in Tulsa or Baltimore. The next thing that came out of the owners' mouth was a directive to the employee who showed the guns to me, VIRBATIM: " PUT THESE "F..ING GUNS BACK IN A CABINET. THIS GUY DOESNT BUY GUNS, HE WANTS TO STEALS THEM" .Here's the bottom line: If you are insulted by an offer, dont play games of "maybe the customer will offer more than what I want for them". Also, a simple "No, thank you" would be sufficient, regardless of how personal you take business read more

Wanted to purchase a gun in the case marked $288, when I showed interest, they said it was marked incorrectly and raised the price to $488. When I questioned them about being fair, the gave me the "we can refuse to sell to anyone", very rude. Pawn shops have made a bad name for themselves with practices like this.
