During the film festival, it was being utilized as a fan-fest area where you mingled with other attendees, enjoyed live entertainment, participated in games, and more. It also had a lawn and trees along its outer edges. Outside of the film festival, it was frequently used for free concerts, film screenings, and other events. Formerly known as Metro Square, the square was renamed in April 2011 by a Toronto City Council vote to honor the late civic leader David Pecaut. The Square featured The Eternal Flame of Hope, inspired by the perseverance of disabled people, and burned as a reminder that society must be all-inclusive. Otherwise, there appeared to be some onsite underground, minimal to no parking spots along the main and many surrounding streets (I'm sure this was different during any other time), some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options (e.g. King St. streetcars, St. Andrew Subway Station), and rideshares - 'nuff said! The WiFi was excellent and there was plenty of storage for all my clothes (I like to completely unpack even on short business trips). They have a pool and gym (though I didn't try either) and it's reasonably priced ($137 CAD). What more can one ask for? Will certainly stay here on my next business trip to Toronto.

I tried to give the hotel a chance, but the condition of the room was unacceptable and I started feeling sick. I booked another hotel, left, and informed the staff that I wanted a refund. The manager then came out and spoke rudely to my brother. Instead of taking responsibility for the condition of the room, management handled the situation poorly and disrespectfully. If I could give this hotel negative stars, I would. I will be reporting this property to the appropriate health and safety department. Avoid this hotel.

So many new restaurants around the movie theatre, its becoming quite the entertainment space with a unique carousel in the centre of it all. Love the little patches of grass and concrete seating in front of the Cineplex which has basically become Luculus' and Cha Time's very own patio. During the day they have tasteful and sturdy tables and chairs here for enjoying your favorite drink. But its intended to be the spot for DTM concert nights or a viewing area for such events. My kids love the steps leading up to this area with the little water fountain. Far enough from the parking lot, that they can roam free so parents can enjoy their snacks worry free and uninterrupted. Cant wait for the continued growth here. Would be nice to see them expand all the way into York University area. It was a long walk to the Indy from DTM with nothing to view along the way on either side of Enterprise Rd. Could use more stores and more variety. All the stores brand new and well maintained.

Families with kids also love the Pride of Canada carousel. There are also ample parking in large lots and at the condos. The Cineplex Markham here always has the most up to date Asian movies. There are so many amazing restaurant, cafes and shops; just saw that The Leo Steakhouse is going to opens soon (taking over Terre Rouge). So sad that Kiu Restaurant closed down, but we got the new brunch spot, 15th Avenue, that lives up to the good vibes :) Also, shoutout to my favourite drinks spot, True Boss, with the healthy enzyme/fruit vinegar drinks :)

We had a splendid time attending a Bat Mitzvah for a friend at The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon…read morerecently and the event ran smoothly with everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. Each part of the event clicked like a well-oiled machine with competent staff attending to every partiers' needs. From friendly bar tending to accommodating photo booth staff to flawless AV presentations, The Bram & Bluma Appel Salon delivered fantastic service! The stage was beautifully lit with natural light streaming in with ribbons of yellow as the Barra MacNeils played and danced with excellent sound and smooth performances from these veteran Canadian icons. As guests entered the function a steel band played as delicious minty mojitos were handed to them. A gorgeous balcony off the middle room made it possible to get out of the air conditioning and 'warm up' in the glow of one of Toronto's first heat wave days of the summer. The balcony had nice patio furniture and carefully trimmed and well taken-care-of plants. As guests left the party, taxi chits were on hand to help guests get home quickly. Highly recommended for any group needing AV as they have a main screen flanked by screens on each side of the room.
