I had to deal with the scary and unpleasant experience of my 1 year old getting tubes put in her ears. Like most parents you are scared your child will go under general anesthesia, will the tubes even work, will it make things better for my child, etc. Luckily we had a positive experience. My child had 9 ear infections in her first year of life. Poor Kid. We saw Dr. Grilli, and after examination he recommended tubes. We then spent a morning at Mass Eye and Ear in the city for the surgery. They certainly cater to children in the facility we were in. They had a nurse in the waiting room, to help make sure your child was adjusting. I was allowed to stay with the baby until the actual surgery itself, and the post operation nurses were great. Even though they deal with this everyday they still understood how hard it is to be a parent of a child in surgery. We took the baby home and by 12 noon she was totally FINE. Very little effects from the anesthesia at all. We did go back to Dr. Grilli for custom made ear plugs a few months later. I can't remember the name of the doctor who made them for us, but she was great with the baby. We had the custom made ear plugs done in less than an hour and ready to use. I had 2 nose surgeries from 2 different doctors at this place and there has been no improvement at all. Don't bother with this place.

I have seen Dr. Peter Friedensohn twice at this office for nose issues and both times I have been very impressed by him. Visit one was in 2005 where I was referred to his office to take care of chronic nosebleeds. The office is convenient, located off the highway and close to Quincy Center and East Braintree. There is plenty of parking and soon the location will be even more accessible as the city is putting in a direct highway ramp to the Crown Colony business park to be completed in the next year. My wait time was very short for a mid-morning and the Dr. F. saw me quickly. My visit was not too complex and I was out of there within a half-hour after a painless cautery and recovered very quickly with no further problems. His aftercare instructions were thorough and I felt confident in his treatment. My second visit was May 7th for a morning appointment to discuss chronic sinus headaches/sinusitis. Again, the wait was short and Dr. F. was genial and friendly. He took an interest in my occupation and we chatted a bit as he went over symptoms, which definitely made me feel he was a good listener and engaged in the visit. His facility is equipped with a very nice video scope which allowed him to look inside my nose in the office and he made sure to point out the anatomy of everything we were seeing on the video screen. Very cool, and I love that he made sure I was aware of his thoughts as he was seeing the structures. His followup recommendations were clear and made sure to give me time frame for a revisit. His staff was friendly as well, which is always a plus. He's really a great doctor and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an otolaryngologist. read more

Simply put, this place is a scam. Do not go here. I Went in for an appointment for some sinus problems. Got a bill for $1045.00. I was prescribed some nasal spray and told I had some post nasal drip causing a sore throat. I make 25K a year, its just insane that a business that's supposed to help people would do something like that. This is the only review I've given that hasn't been 5 stars. read more

I was not happy with the lack of time and attention Dr. Kam spent on me. The reception staff was great but the doctor was very rushed. I got there at 10:10 for my 10:30 and didn't get into a room until 10:50. Then waited until 11:10 to see the doctor who spent no time examining my issue. read more

I saw Dr Joseph Rizzo, an ophthalmologist at Mass Eye and Ear for a serious condition. Two residents examined me for an hour, but they had little knowledge about my condition and what to look for. I understand that this is a teaching hospital, but what I experienced was ridiculous. The residents kept talking to each other as if I were not there. Rizzo then comes in and spent just ten minutes with me and was terrible about answering my questions. read more

I have never been treated more horribly in my life. I was actually laughed at by the doctor as I was telling her what my symptoms were. I was then told I was not dizzy. I said yes I am and she said kept laughing and saying I wasn't. Then as I am still trying to tell her my symptoms she jabs something in my ear without telling me what she's doing. After this she tells me she saw I had anxiety on my chart and that's the reason I am having dizziness. (I've since learned what was causing it and it was certainly not anxiety! I was pretty close to dying). She then has me get my hearing checked after I kept telling her I didn't have trouble hearing. Maybe she should get her ears checked because she didn't listen to a word I said. Then she made me stand in her office with no chair while she was seated with the door wide open. She told me I needed to stop drinking alcohol and caffeine. If she had read my intake form she would see I don't drink either. Then she told me she was going to send me to a dizziness clinic. I said I thought you said I wasn't dizzy. She said well I'll send you anyways and then she AGAIN told me I stop drinking alcohol and caffeine. I once again reminded her I did not drink either and she walked away. Waste of money and time. The doctors laugh at you and don't listen. Disgusting practice. At least the front desk staff was pleasant. Oh and if you're going during covid they don't allow you to wear your own mask? They make you wear theirs which was handed to us by a bare handed nurse after she touched the part that would be going on my mouth? They were so cheap both ear straps broke within two minutes. Gross. I work in the medical field and that is horrible to hand someone a mask from god knows where with your bare hands where I am going to place it on my face. read more

These people do NOT know how to keep appointments. I took a whole day off from work and they told me that I was a day late...Maybe send out automated texts if you people find it too difficult to book and keep appointments. They turned me away...at 12:30pm...with only one patient in the waiting area....asked if I can go to a different office....Weymouth or E. Bridgewater....NO. Been on antibiotics for a week...Had a sore throat for 3 weeks. Just trying to make sure I don't have THROAT CANCER, thats all. I cant believe how un-accommodating they were to a long time patient. read more

This doctor single-handedly destroyed my life. He should not be practicing medicine. I went from being a award-winning professor to completely disabled, unable to breathe or even function. My life is worth nothing and I suffer all day every day, trying to breathe. Qualified ENT's found that I had an enormous amount of scarring, greatly oversized holes to drain my sis and sinus turbinates cauterized so badly and to such an extreme that my entire Autonomic Nervous system was damaged. I have spent nearly $20K trying to fix the damage done and I am still very ill. Clients of mine also treated by this doctor had their sinuses collapse after 9, yes 9 surgeries!! I cannot believe this individual is still practicing, particularly after the high profile case of 2005, where a patient was incinerated because the oxygen was not shut off during an attempt to cauterized his tubing. I called the office and asked to see a doctor. The assistant asked for my last name. I told her I wonder when would be the earliest he could see me she asked for the last name again. I gave her the last name and asked again saying that if I can't see him soon there is no point in taking my information. Next thing I know she just transfered me somewhere, without saying anything at all (how rude). I have to go through EXACTLY the same conversation with another assistant. So I just hung up. read more

Might have loved them if they actually would see me. I had a dreadful experience with this practice, having made an appointment a week in advance for an acute problem, being willing to see the first practitioner available. They took all of my insurance info. etc at the time of scheduling the app't, and they were listed as a participating provider on the insurance company's website. Late in the afternoon prior to the morning of the appointment, I received a voice mail message that my appointment was being canceled because they "don't see patients with your insurance." At this point, I would have been perfectly willing (and able) to pay out of pocket to have my ear infection treated, but I wasn't even offered that option. I went instead, hat in hand, to the Eye and Ear clinic at Boston Medical Center and received immediate and excellent treatment and service there.
