Excellent care by Dr. Ibrahim. He listened to me and was very kind. I'd go back there any time I have need of an ENT

I had not been in for a few years (living out-of-state during Covid made it impossible), but had an emergency with my ear earlier this week created by a mistake at my new PCP's office (note to self: continue search for new PCP). I called Dr. Vernick's office the next day and spoke with Anna - we had a nice chat, she told me she joined the office a couple of months ago and helped me get in ASAP. She recommended I see Mary, the office's RN, and was able to make an appt for me first-thing the following morning. Mary was amazing, looked at both ears to see what happened and then explained in nice, easy-to-understand terms what happened and what to do. My pharmacy let me know 6 hours later (!!!) that one of the two prescriptions she ordered for me was unavailable, so I called the office to go with option #2. I left a message for Mary, she called me back a few minutes later and sent in the next request. I have a follow-up with Mary in two weeks, and am starting to feel a little better after just starting 2 antibiotics. A BIG thank you to Anna and Mary!!

I'd give this practice 10 stars if I could. My ear problems began in 2010. I saw Dr. Innis, who…read moreplaced tubes in my ears. The tubes seemed to help for a short while, however, my issues were far more advanced than this practice could work with and they referred me to a Dr. Daniel Lee at MA Eye and Ear and as it turns out, Dr. Lee is a world-class surgeon. My ear issues are extremely complicated, but over several major surgeries, Dr. Lee was able to reconstruct my ear drum and place a prosthetic hearing bone. This year (2024) my 7 year old son began having ear issues. After several infections in a short time-frame, of course my decision to see Dr. Innis was my first course of action. Dr. Innis, for whatever reason, thought it would be best for my son to see Dr. Stone in the same practice. My son has now had 2 sets of tubes placed.. as well as his Adenoid removed and Dr. Stone is ABSOLUTELY 100% AMAZING with children. She made my wife and I feel very comfortable with the surgeries. If you have children that require care, Dr. Stone is the best! 10-star review from my family.

Patient Feedback: I…read moresaw this ENT for a minor ear issue. While I don't expect every doctor to have perfect bedside manner, my experience during this visit left me uncomfortable. The doctor asked about my profession, but before I could answer, he interrupted and guessed that I was an administrative assistant. While I've held that role before and respect it deeply, the assumption -- and the way it was delivered -- came across as dismissive and unprofessional. He also explained post-care instructions in a tone that felt overly condescending, including how to avoid getting water in my ear as if I'd never taken a shower before. I came for medical care, not to be talked down to. Additionally, the office staff didn't inform me that the doctor was running 30 minutes behind. A simple heads-up would have gone a long way toward showing respect for patients' time. I recognize that other reviews speak highly of this physician, so perhaps I caught him on an off day. Still, the interaction felt unnecessarily patronizing and left a poor impression. I will not be back. It's also worth mentioning that the office requires a credit card to be kept on file "just in case of charges." In all my years of visiting various doctors, I've never encountered that policy before, and it felt out of step with standard practice.

Dr Kieff seems like a pretty good ENT. The audiologist is very nice and (as far as I could tell)…read morevery competent & thorough. The admin staff, however... For some reason they use both MGB Patient Gateway and AthenaHealth, and it appears that they don't have either one set up properly. As a result, they besiege patients with reminders, confirmations, and early check-ins. Seven calls in less than a week. Text after text. (After STOP after STOP.) Emails upon emails. I called to make an appointment. No sooner had I hung up than the phone rang with their number. Thinking they were calling back to let me know there was a problem or something, I rather foolishly answered. Nope. Automated reminder about the appointment I had literally just made. Productive! And their response? Breathtaking lack of empathy, self-awareness, and responsibility. It's not their fault. Nothing's their fault. Never. Why are you even talking to us about this? Can't you see we're not interested? Twice as frustrating as all the calls and messages combined. "The computer did that, not me." Um, actually, only half the calls were from the computer. The rest were from two of them sitting five feet apart who didn't coordinate. Can't blame the computer for that! "We don't control that." Really? Who do they think controls it? Because we're old enough to see a lot of doctors pretty often in this house, and they're the only ones with this problem. And, as has been elsewhere observed, they have a bizarre obsession with having a credit card on file so they can bill the patient for whatever, whenever. On my first visit, I pulled out my Apple Card (which does not have any visible card information) and they just about lost their minds. They nearly refused to keep the appointment because they couldn't make a copy of it in case they needed to charge me later. (Spoiler alert: they didn't.) They had to get Dr Kieff to make a special exception to their policy. And, as with the notification problem, this appears to be entirely because they don't know and don't care how the technology the practice depends on actually works. While I was in the waiting room, the person ahead of me checking out was complaining about the exact same thing. And they got the exact same dismissive response I eventually got, along with some very unnecessary sarcasm. When my turn came, the minute I told them I was frustrated by this, they sternly told me to leave. (Which I did, never to return.) I think they knew I was going to ask to speak to the Doctor about it since they clearly didn't care. They're also the ones that answer the phones and open the mail. My guess is that while they surely generate a lot of these types of complaints, they're also able to keep those complaints from ever making it to the doctor. So I suspect Dr. Kieff, who, again, seems like a pretty decent ENT, is not aware of much of this. Which is a shame.

I originally posted this under "Milton Hospital" but am now cross-posting this same review under…read morethe hospital's correct name. I just had massive swelling on my neck - an obvious active and progressing infection...and the infection made my body feel like I had a bad flu, and also had pain across whole gumline on lower teeth. Milton Hospital is my go-to for ER. Drove myself in, parking right by door. Brought right in, only person in waiting room, triaged right away, tested for covid, put in a bed, given meds right away to quell the pain and made very comfortable. I was afraid and worried, but my nurse was so kind sweet and attentive that I was able to relax, put my headphones on and watched tv on my phone while CT scan with contrast was arranged. I was told I was going to be admitted, but eventually found out that prior jaw surgery complete with bone graft made it necessary to transfer me via ambulance to Beth Israel Boston where Maxillofacial Surgeons from B.U. would treat me. Logistically I was slightly irked that I hadnt been told I was going into boston as I had only prepared to be away from home for 2 days, 3 max, but no stars off for that because it was the right thing to do, just could have been told sooner is all. Tx to ambulance team was exemplary. I had to leave my car 4+ days (through 2 snowstorms) and there was no problem with that. Besides the obvious progressing infection, my main stress was to get pain control, and secondary stress was going into an ER in "covid" pandemic... Milton Hospital ER gets an A++ on all of that. My treatment was of the highest standards, and the covid precautions made the visit a 0 stress from that perspective from the moment i entered the emergency room. What a gem to have this level of care in my community!!

I politely asked…read morethe ugly, blonde, horse faced secretary at 3:45 pm if they had an idea of what time they would be there to transfer her. She didn't even look in my direction and yelled ," I'm not making any phone calls to see when people are being picked up until an hour after they are late!" I just as loudly told her she was rude! All the other incompetent nurses were talking about me knowing my mom's room was DIRECTLY across from where the nurse station was, assuring I could hear it. I ended up leaving at 5 pm after being told they'd be there ,"around 4:30" now. As I left the other brown haired ugly nurse was staring at me as I got on the elevator to leave with a grin and I told her," I'm not mad at you but your friend sucks! She started talking shit as soon as the doors closed. I've had MANY bad experiences at this shithole! My father even died here on November 4th 2023. If you love someone, NEVER bring them here! It's a bunch of fat lazy nurses who don't care about the patients!!!!
