My masseuse was really nice and often checked in to make sure there wasn't too much pressure being put on my back. My 3rd massage at Massage Crystal and I'm always feeling great when I leave. Tonight, I had Kelly - she has the magic touch! For my 90 min I requested a Swedish soft start for 30, then deep tissue for the remaining time. It was fabulous! Kelly asked me a few times if the pressure was ok...much appreciated. OMG...looks like we just found out massage home! Everyone was EXTREMELY pleasant and that goes such a long way these days. The dedication to the craft is just astounding. My massage therapist was so attentive to my body, she found my trouble spots without me saying a word. I could feel how she was trying so hard to get the knots out. I have serious neck / upper back knots, so I admire her determination. My husband (couples massage) was in absolute massage heaven. He was knocked out almost immediately from how good it felt. I find that shocking since it does sort of give you the Thai massage vibes. But not entirely. It was different and yet so amazing at the same time. I'm so happy my husband enjoyed it as well. my trainer recommended this place to me to help alleviate some inflexibility i was experiencing. when you check in you fill out a digital form asking what type of pressure, choice of use of fingers, kneading, or forearms or wrist you want your masseuse to use, as well as you can circle areas of the body you want them to pay attention to. The lady at the desk was super nice and the facility was also super clean. The masseuse used a great deal of pressure (as requested, i had a lot of knots!) and checked in periodically to make sure i was okay. My only 2 complaints are firstly, she only massaged my back side, started from my neck- worked her way down to my feet and then had me turn over just to massage my forehead/jaw for less than 2 minutes and then boom, the massage was done. The issue here is that i circled my shoulders and quads as areas that needed focus. Massages typically entail getting massage on your back AND on your stomach, so it kinda felt like a half-assed massage. it's also kind of weird to me that she massaged my entire body, including my feet- and then touched my face, i've never had a masseuse do that before. They usually start on the face,neck, shoulders, then move along down the body. When i mentioned it to the front desk lady- she said the masseuses don't always have time to review the forms they have us fill out so i should've told her what i wanted. I felt that was a pretty ridiculous thing to say because 1. she knew it was my first time there, so how would i know- i'm under the assumption she saw form and read what i needed. 2. Why bother having us fill it out if they're not going to look at it, and they could just ask us at the start of the session! I let it go though and didn't want to make a big deal out of it. She still did pretty well on my shoulders but now i'll need to go back and pay for another massage so i can get these knots out of my thighs. Secondly, i did notice she moved along the massage in an unorganized/asymmetrical manner. what she did on one side she didn't always do on the other and she would be massaging my right arm, move to the left side of my neck, and then start massaging my hips- THEN go back up to the other arm, but only massage the lower half of that arm. I felt she missed a lot of areas and yes i could've spoken up but as someone who is not new to massages, i like to use this time to relax- not have to talk someone through a process they are already skilled on. If anything, i will only comment on the amount of pressure being applied. Overall, i want to give this place one more try. There are way too many great reviews on here for me to have the experience i did. I'm hoping the next one will be better. read more

A nice little spot not far from my home. Its clean, peaceful, and the massages are decent for relaxing. I found this place online while I was in Waugh Chapel spending the day and I used our yelp to vet it first. It lived up to the reviews. The three stars are for two reasons: 1) The receptionist was older, didn't speak English and couldn't have cared any less about customer service. No eye contact, no smile. Just a quick verse in Chinese under her breath and a pleasant masseuse appeared and ushered me to a room. First impressions are everything. 2) The rooms are in the same area as the lobby only separated by curtains so the outside noise of people walking in and asking for service or talking does not lend to a relaxing atmosphere while being massaged. Pros: The price is decent. The place seems clean but a little dark. We didn't have an appointment but they accepted us anyway, which was nice of the business. Good for last minute bookings. Cons: The massages are too rough. My husband and I went for a an hour long couples massage. We both felt like we were pounded on. The man who did my massage had long nails and actually scratched my back up a little. The next day I'm sore around my neck and upper back, which is not normal. The massage included hot stones but they were too hot and there were times during the massage where we were afraid we might get burned. Happily, I received a 90-minute treatment that included a deep massage and later a Swedish massage. The treatment was excellent and there is a great chance that I will be back for treatment. This place is Crofton's hidden gem, pun intended. They accommodated a same-day request for a couples massage! We did 30 minutes of reflexology and 30 of full body for a most relaxing hour. The price ($94 total for both of us) can't be beat. It is a clean, comfortable environment with great and professional staff. My massage therapist was wonderful and gave me a nice deep tissue massage, even checking in a few times to see how the pressure is.
