Although the service provided was good. This is not a business I support whatsoever. After getting my facial, I was harassed afterwards by a tech who was trying to coerce me into getting a membership as they are going up on their prices soon (during the height of covid). I politely declined many many times. Being harassed is not the reason for the 1 star, nor even the price increase during covid. What I attempted to do is then call each Lafayette location of Massage envy to get more information on this price increase. I called and asked since (both) locations are increasing their prices, does this also correlate to an Employee Wage Increase. I was informed that no, it doesn't, by one location, I was of course disgusted but not surprised. The second Lafayette location I called put me on hold for a manager to answer the phone, the manager then Harassed me for the question, almost outraged and said she was uncomfortable answering the question, though still true, and asked me if I was an employee, a former employee, a news media outlet, or a reporter. No I was a customer, and will not be returning, haven't been back since. These sick business practices like this (especially from a place who already charges so much) unfortunately don't hinder the franchise owners or higher ups, it only is a direct loogie/spit in the face to employees who work there. When I am home visiting family I usually book appointment for my mother and I. The receptionists are always extremely friendly and accommodating. My massage worth Sean was great. If I could change one thing it would be the placement of the sheets. I've been gettin routine massages for years and I understand massage etiquette but please for full body massages... tuck the sheets at an appropriate level that you actually massage the full body. For example, the leg massage was just a calf and foot massage because the sheet was wrapped around my thigh. I could have said something but it wasn't worth wasting the last few minutes of a session to correct it. I know for next time to mention it before the massage. A definite go to location. read more

The therapists are excellent but its not client oriented at all - beware what you sign! They don't tell you that the minimum sign up is a year, and you can't get out of it unless you have a doctors note. They repeatedly call to tell you about your appointment, often at the most inconvenient times (would be much better to get an ical appointment - they computerize everything else, so I don't see it would be that much hassle). I don't feel good about being trapped in a contract that I don't want, it does not make me feel like I want to go for a massage there. read more

I got a membership last year and used it a few times. It was all good. In July of last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. My surgeon said that I should not do massages as it causes lymph to circulate. In august I called the location and spoke to someone at the office about cancelling my account. They told me that my July payment needed to post before I could cancel it but they would put a note on my account. So I just figured they would do it being my account was noted. In October I noticed I was still being charged for a monthly membership. I contacted guest relations to cancel my account and never heard back from them. I called the store in December because I was still being charged my membership. I was told "it slipped our minds". They refunded two months worth and the manager told me that if I wanted august and September refund that I would need to get a Dr note. I was unable to get the Dr note. But I let it go because the manager had agreed to cancel my membership. It is now February and I noticed a couple of days ago they are still charging me. I again called the store. The manager lied and told me that she had told me back in December that I could GIFT this to someone. I told her she never told me that and that she had agreed to cancel my membership and refund me two months of my fees. They lie. I told her that I would be getting my money back and that I would be contacting the BBB and emailing guest relations again. So I have emailed guest relations again and I cc the store. To this day guest relations has not attempted to resolve this. I did on the other hand after all of this get an email from her store and the manager has agreed to refund me two months again and also cancel my membership finally. I do not recommend this store or massage envy period. read more

I booked my first appointment with massage envy on Ambassador because I had a gift card that my friend gave me for my birthday. I was so excited and ready to relax... from the beginning of the massage to the end I was hurting and kept telling the man massaging me. It was so much pressure and I wanted to cry, but did not want to hurt the mans feelings. Even though I kept telling him to soften up, he did not. I now have bruises all over my body from the massage and am sore. I told the manager and she is doing nothing about it. I will not be back and they did not accept my gift card, so I had to pay $70 for the worst hour of my entire life. read more

Staff was nice but I do not like how after I told them I wasn't interested in the membership they kept hounding me. The therapist I had was Chris amd although he had great pressure, I got an hour amd half amd I do not feel like I received an hour amd half due to him stopping for "pressure points" so many times and did not specifically work on my neck as I had asked him to. Do NOT go to this place! I went in for a massage in October and was given the sales pitch for membership! Told them that I didn't like to be held to a contract. I was told that I could cancel membership at any time. I reluctantly agreed. Out of the gate, I was told that my contract would be emailed because of some printing issue on site (should have known something wasn't right in that moment). I was told that they were out of the promotional gifts but that I could get it at my next appointment. My first appointment in November was rescheduled and when I got there, once again the they were out of the promotional gift. They offered a stretch for my next appointment to replace it. I agreed and scheduled the stretch and the massage the first weekend in December. I was called and told that the therapist whom I had an appointment with was no longer employed there. I was rescheduled to today 12/29. I got a call yesterday confirming the appointment! I got up early on my day off, get there and was told that my appointment had been canceled due to some staff issue! I asked to cancel my membership only to be told that I couldn't! These people are SCAM ARTISTS! I am 3 mos in and have not received my promotional gift, have had constant rescheduling/cancellation and told that I am locked in for 12 months of this unprofessionalism while they take my money! I bought a gift certificate as a gift for my mother last year for mothers day. I was persuaded to purchase a gift card for $150 rather than the $100 I originally intended. As a reward for spending an additional $50 I was given a certificate which allowed me to have a free 60 minute massage. I was NOT told that there was an expiration date for the free massage. When I tried to schedule my free massage I was informed that the certificate had expired. If I had been told at the time of my purchase that the free massage would expired I would have either not spent the extra $50 OR I would have scheduled the free massage before the expiration date. I will not do business with these people again and recommend that anyone reading this review do the same. read more
