I enjoyed my massage at Massage Envy althoughhhhh it ended 15 minutes early while my sister was able to enjoy her whole hour massage. My therapist was AMAZING and so was my sisters. The therapists were two women who had just started within that month. My therapist pressure was just perfect!! I enjoyed the massage a lot which is why I wish it was for the full hour and since I paid for an hour. I didnt complain but here we are on Yelp lol. I was a little worried about coming here after reading reviews because of things like being shorted on time or not having music playing during appointment and even getting someone that didn't really know what they were doing. In my experience the staff was friendly, I didn't have any issues with people picking up the phone for scheduling, and the massage was overall enjoyable. I could have used firmer pressure but I also didn't ask for it. I only filled out the two surveys on iPad, that they seemingly don't review. For the price compared to others it wasn't the BEST massage I've ever had and the room was a little chilly I guess. I read that in some reviews. I don't know if they have table warmers since I wasn't asked if temp was OK. All in all it was a good experience. I'd go back if I were to receive it as a gift again. read more

Got one massage here and it was good, booked my second massage for the next month. Apparently your second massage is double the price as the first massage, and they won't mention that. When I was checking out of my second massage she went to just charge my card and i had to ask how much it was and to my surprise it was DOUBLE than the month before. Even the front desk lady didn't know why it was so much. After trying to get ahold of a manager days later that let me know it was because i was not a member. No one told me about a membership or the extra fees with out one - super disappointing. Would've maybe considered a membership and definitely wouldn't have paid double for another massage. Even though none of this was explained to me prior, apparently it was my job to ask if the price was going to be higher my next massage and there's nothing they can do for me. Then they say they'll put you on a list to call when new appointments open up, but then they never do. The only time they'll call you back is when you call to cancel your membership. First of all, their prices are no longer cheaper than booking at any professional place. Second, the first month that I bought a gift certificate for over $200. It was accidentally thrown away that very day. So I called them and asked if I could come and get a replacement. Surely they would have a record showing the certificate wasn't used, right? We live in the age of technology. They told me the only record was the paper gift certificate that I had and they could not give me a new one or refund my money. Then, nearly every time I try to book, no one is available. I've had massages canceled on me twice because the therapist called in sick. Recently, I got a new debit card, so they texted me and said I needed to update my account. I said I would when I came in for my massage that week as I am not comfortable texting it. They told me that wasn't good enough and they canceled the massage that I had booked. I asked them what date I would be able to cancel my membership and how to do that. They refused to answer that question until I gave them my new card information; as if having my information changes that answer. To be honest I was a bit torn between 3 - 4 stars, and opted for 4 because my masseuse, Alli, was awesome. Here's what they do right: 1) great ambiance. Super relaxing and comfortable, especially in the rooms. Dim, relaxing music/sounds playing, and comfortable tables to lay on. 2) my masseuse was fantastic. She truly cared about my experience and wanted to make sure I was getting treated for what I needed. When I left, she gave me recommendations for next time, and how the next visit could be even better. Here's what they could do better/why they almost got 3 stars: 1) pressure to sign up for the membership. I was so comfortable and relaxed after my massage and wanted to pay and get out. When I opted not to sign up, they questioned why, and tried to offer another explanation for why to sign up now. Wasn't a huge fan of that. 2) I signed up for a 90 minute massage and it ended about 15 min early. I started a bit earlier than my scheduled appointment, but I still felt a bit shorted when I noticed the time. At least a quick heads up of the expected ending time before starting would've been nice. Overall I had a great experience and won't hesitate to return! read more

The service is horrible! The therapists are great but the management is unbelievably incompetent and rude. They rarely answer the phone and it is hard to get appointments. After being a member for 8 years I decided to cancel my membership due to the fact that I could not get appointments. I was told I had 8 hours left that I had to use in 60 days. At that time I asked if I could transfer some of those hours to my adult kids and they told me that I could. I made an appointment for my daughter-in-law and was told I could not transfer the hours. Then another person told me I could but they would need to clear it with the manager. After 18 phone calls and a manager who avoided any conversation with me they finally let me transfer 2 hours for a 90 minute massage. But they were so rude about it like I was a criminal stealing from them. They also told me at that time that I only had 4 hours left and when I questioned that I started with 8 hours and had only used 2 they told me they had no record of the 8 hours to start with. I used to go her before ‍ Covid. This was my first time back in about 3 years. On a gift certificate. Unfortunately the other reviews here are not wrong. They were however seeing people for interviews while I was waiting for my massage. So they are definitely trying to get it better? My massage though was awful. I have had many massages in my life and I could say that it was the absolute worst! I felt like I was in a massage school with a first weeker who had no idea what was going on. Also there was no music playing and the room was freezing. I had to have her put on the table warmer on high and when she took an arm or a leg out of the sheet it was way too cold outside of the blankets. Yikes! This review is only regarding the business management and not the massages. My massages there were always good. Last year in October I called to cancel my membership. I was not using my membership due to Covid and I had about 8 massages built up. I was told that I had to come into the American fork branch and complete paperwork to cancel. So I drove to American Fork from Kaysville just for the purpose of completing the paperwork. I lost all 8 massages (which I agreed to understand). I signed the paperwork BUT DID NOT ASK THEM FOR A COPY!!! Well a couple of months ago I was reviewing a bank account that I do not use very often and found that I was still being charge $50 every month for my membership. I called immediately. I waited for the manager to call me but had to call a few days later to finally talk with her. She said she would look for my cancelation paperwork and talk to the owner. She promised she would call back the next days to give me an update. No call. I called her again and she said that my paperwork must be out in storage and that she would have the owner go out and look for it......that was a month ago. I called again today and the manager said that the owner just went out two days ago because they have been so busy (like the money I have paid for nothing doesnt matter and is not important to them) and she could not find it. She said since they don't have evidence of it there is nothing they can do. She offered to let me come in and catch up on massages...that would be like 15-16 of them. The manager claims they are very organized and would have record of it.....so is she saying I am lying about it? I asked her to have the owner call me (which was promised at least twice previously) and she said its not fair to ask her to call from home when its her day off. My opinion and experience is that when you own your own business you work 24 7 if necessary to keep a good reputation and customers happy. As you can tell I am very frustrated (but who wouldnt be with the change of losing hundreds of $$$)....and not sure whether to take them to small claims or take legal action. The only proof I have is the note in my phone calendar telling me to go in and cancel Massage Envy. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. read more

I do not recommend this facility or Jessie (female LMP) booked an appointment (FYI they are 3-8 weeks out for booking) and checked in 10 min before my appointment. At 11 min after what was to be the appointment start time, I asked the front desk gals if I had my appointment time wrong. They said no, they would investigate and I confirmed that I would still have my full hour massage since I was checked in early for my appointment. The massage therapist was fetched and they had a disagreement about paperwork and then after I was in the room, disrobed and on the table, the LMP told me that it would not be a full hour because they had to use some timer app and it would push all her other appointments off by 15 min... I shared that I understood her predicament but that wasn't my situation to have my time cut short due to them not getting me into the room for my massage. She left me to go sort it out. Then cracked the door and told me to get dressed. She then disappeared and I made my way back out to the front desk who could offer no explanation, acted like that was just how it was done and "wasn't allowed to refund my gift card". There is no corporate contact to try and work this out with. And there was only one appointment in the next 3 weeks that was a possibility. Do not book a massage here. Find a small business owner LMP and support their business instead. read more

I see that this place doesn't have great reviews and I honestly don't know why. They must have had issues before and then corrected them (take a look at the dates of the bad reviews. They were over a year ago.) I have had many massages in my life and gone to many different places. My experience here was great! I don't have any complaints! The facility was clean and organized. The sheets were also clean and my bed had a warmer, which was sooo nice! My masseur was Wayne and he did an AWESOME job! I felt completely comfortable the whole hour! I've been a member since they first opened. It became too difficult to schedule a massage. Told a month ago they would freeze my account and only charge me $10. Per month until I got my 27 hours of credit used up. I filled out the paperwork at their salon, but two weeks later I was charged another $50.00 for the month. Today I filled out paperwork to cancel my membership and dropped it off to a very rude young lady. I have asked several times for the manager/ owner to contact me but that is yet to happen. This location has gone downhill drastically in the past year or two. The level of service has been incredibly unsatisfactory. I've had them misplace my credit card information multiple times. I go in for an appointment and they tell me I have an expired credit card on my account; which I had updated maybe 6 mo ago?? They had to bill me for 3 months at once worth of dues because they failed to save my cc number. They have asked me if I'm still pregnant...I had my baby 18 months ago! They can't get their medical records straight. They had me down for a wrong time and said it was my fault. I've never written down a massage apt incorrectly nor ever been late! What happened to customer service?? I've been a member for 8+ years and I can't wait to be done with my membership!! Just now they called to cancel my last appointment with them because the therapist can't be there without giving me viable options. Seriously! How do you stay in business??? I had previously posted a scathing review of this location due to an unfortunate encounter and situation I had had in May where my membership had ended sooner than I thought with 9 credits remaining, and the girl on the phone said there was nothing they could do and I was just out the $540?! I was stunned and I felt they were unwilling to work with me to resolve the situation. But when I finally calmed down enough (months later) to follow up, the management at the facility was willing to to reactive the credits and allow me to use them within 60 days which is what I was planning to do in May. My faith is restored in Massage Envy and in particular this location! We've been members for more than a year now. Our experiences have always been great. This is one of our favorite place to relax, rejuvenate and at times healing (soar shoulder or arms). We do schedule with the same therapists every time and for 1.5 hours. The staffs are very flexible in terms of scheduling and they give you heads up (at least a week) if anything happens with your schedule. No complaints as well from our end. read more

I just moved to Utah from Colorado. The 2 American Fork Massage Envy massages I have had so far have been amazing! I needed work on very tight muscles and it was the exact kind of massage and pressure that I like! I love deep pressure. The staff in American Fork seems very helpful and friendly, and I am going back as soon as I get time!! I have seen a couple of good massage therapists here. However, overriding the few good experiences is the management... The management treats their employees poorly & their clients even worse. Over the course of several years we had multiple problems from poor communication, last minute cancellations, restrooms with broken soap dispensers (& toilets), to unclean rooms. Interestingly enough the front desk "lost" my husband's cancellation form and this created yet another headache. I've also had several massage therapists who did not listen to me regarding pressure, temperature, etc. We ended our membership and are so happy with this decision. I feel like a million bucks! I received a gift card for Massage Envy for Christmas and decided to give it a try today. I scheduled my appointment over the phone with Brooke, and she made me an appointment for today. I arrived a few minutes early as they requested to fill out paper work, so I did. Once it was time for my appointment, my therapist Paul came out to meet me and take me to the therapy room. He asked me a few questions like "Are there any areas you would like me to focus on working today?" and "Do you have any preferences of pressure?" just to be sure. I appreciate when employees anywhere are detail oriented so this guy was already on my good side! He stepped out of the room so I could change and entered a few minutes later. I asked him to work mainly on my neck and shoulders, and lower back. He said the pressure we were going for was "it hurts so good" and surprisingly it didn't hurt at all, but it felt real good! I am a chatty person, so I just asked him questions throughout the session, and did he know his stuff! He was very professional the entire time and made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. After my session, I was walked out to the front desk to pay for my session. I left Paul a tip, he earned it! This was my first experience with Massage Envy and I am honestly shocked I had such a great experience despite all of the negative reviews for this location. I would GLADLY come back and request Paul any time! read more

Blew my mind. After reading reviews that they cancel on you the very same day you have an appt booked, I hesitantly booked a couples massage at this location. My husband and I have been needing to get in as we both have back pain. I got a babysitter scheduled 1.5 weeks in advance and the appointment was booked 2 weeks in advance. Sure enough, the day of, they called an canceled. They didn't have anyone who could cover for one of the therapists and my only option was to reschedule for 2 weeks later. The "Manager" was defensive and rude and didn't offer anything as a way of apology. I was dealing with all of this over the phone while at my sisters house. When I got off the phone she said, "I have a massage and foot treatment scheduled for my birthday in a few days, I sure hope they don't cancel on me!" Sure enough, they did cancel on her 2 hours before her appt on her birthday. I could not believe it. But it gets worse... I again got a babysitter and my husband and I were so excited to go to our couples massage. It's not easy for us to find the time and the babysitter. AGAIN 3 days before our massage someone called and left me a message that one of our therapists had to reschedule. There is no option to have someone on call fill in for her or anything. Simply just had to reschedule again. AGAIN! I have no idea how this place stays in business. I hope it doesn't for much longer. I won't ever be using this location again. If you look at my profile you'll see I don't often leave negative reviews but my mind is blown here. I have several problems with this place. One, my husband told me the massage therapist did not know what he was doing and my husband kept having to tell him where to massage. We usually go to another massage therapist but she was completely booked, and when she does the massages she can feel where the tight muscles are and can completely alleviate the pain in my husbands back after only a half an hour. 90 minutes with the therapist (if you can call him a therapist) at Massage Envy and my husband still has horrible back pain because the therapist did pretty much nothing. Two, I booked my husband's appointment for him since he was at work and I scheduled only a 1 hour massage. When my husband got there, they told him that I had booked him a 90 minute massage. They tricked him into paying them more for a crappy therapist. Three, they add gratuity automatically. Um, no. My husband gets to decide if the therapist should get a tip or not. I will never ever go back there, and my husband never wants to go back there either. Go somewhere else! read more

I have had a membership with Massage Envy since 2012. I called a scheduled a few massages. I was on my way there and I was going to be a few minutes late so I called. I was almost there from 30 mins away they said they didn't have me on the schedule. I said yes I was, I spoke to so and so at this time. She forgot to put it in the computer. I went anyway to talk to the manager, who just showed up but wasn't scheduled. They just so happened to have a cancellation at 5 for 60 mins instead of the 90 i booked. First, the massage therapist was amazing. The one I had was amazing. I am giving 2 stars because of her. I called tonight bc I have a lot of massages built up because of a mistake on there part and the manager made appointments for me and this receptionist was telling me what was allowed and not allowed. She first said I wasn't a member or had anything scheduled bc she couldn't find me in her system. Only did when I said look me up under an appt. She was so rude. I had a question regarding the app for massage envy. She was telling me that an appt that I had scheduled was put in wrong and I said no it was correct and was put in by the manager and please don't touch it. Aaron was so awesome with helping to release some of the pain from trigger points that have been causing me discomfort.
