I've always had consistent, great service and experiences at massage envy locations in Utah, especially the Bountiful location.

Massage Envy was a fraudulent experience. Please don't patronize businesses like this! My wife and I were signed up as a member for a while, until they began cancelling appointments. We had no massages for 6 months and they couldn't schedule a massage for 4 months out, but we were still required to pay a monthly fee and accrue unused credits. When we tried to cancel, they demanded we pay for an extra month beyond today's date. They refused to process the cancellation paperwork, even though we had paid for every month of service we'd ever received. We even paid for 6 months where they effectively refused to serve us. I hope a customer out there with more grit and patience decides to sue Massage Envy for their predatory and probably illegal practices. read more

Should have done a lot more research before agreeing to a membership. I'll own that. But customer service has been terrible. So I'm just going to try to save someone else the trouble if they don't read the fine print well enough. Don't. Get. A. Monthly. Membership. We decided to join for my husband and myself. We both work full time, specifically are interested in massages. We had pre booked a few months, which were all canceled by Masage Envy when they didn't have sufficient staff to actually do out appointments. Then they didn't have sufficient staff for us to find a time to get in with our current schedules. We got to use 1 or 2, but basically have now accrued a lot of unused massages which we can't find times to use without taking off work and using PTO. As a solution they are telling us we're free to go to a different location in a different city. Or get a facial or stretch instead. None of those things are things we have time to do or want to spend our credits on. We chose this location because it's close enough for us to use. So we try to cancel. No such thing as an option to cancel with them. Not even with an early termination fee. Their reasoning is because they offer other services, you don't need to cancel. So- long story short. Don't do it. They don't actually have enough staff to get you in for massages without taking PTO off work to do it. And as a solution, they'll suggest you get a facial or stretch instead. Or drive to a different city. We've used other massage memberships that were so much better and easier to work with. And didn't cancel our appointments in a regular basis and tell us to get a facial instead. read more

I have been in need of a good massage lately & Davis county doesn't have many places that will take you at a moments notice... In comes Massage Envy. I was met with a positive friendly smile by the front desk personnel. It was my first visit to Massage Envy so I had to fill-out some paperwork and have a quick consultation, which was professional and didn't take that long at all. It did take some time after my consultation/appointment time before I was taken back by my masseuse... but it was worth the wait. Bree was great!!! She worked out all my trouble spots and was very friendly and professional as well. I didn't get a full hour because the paperwork took some time and the waiting time before I was taken back, but it was well worth the 50.00 I will be back! read more

ZERO Stars. I do not recommend a membership with this company. I have been harassed non stop by the employees at this location. My issue started in March 19, 2020, when after them cancelling and rescheduling my massage a few times, I was told I would have to show up or pay for this missed massage. By this time, the pandemic was well under way. I showed up only to find the shop was closing the next day. My massage was uncomfortable and gave the exact opposite result as it should. Then in May, they reopened but I was not comfortable returning. I jumped through hoops to put my account on hold. A simple phone call was not sufficient. Shortly after, my bank account was compromised and I had bigger things to worry about. Frankly, my experiences in February and March have left me with a bad taste. I'm still not comfortable getting a massage. This pandemic is far from over. At this point, I'd like to move on but at the very least, I need the employees from Massage Envy to leave me alone. I will come back when I'm ready and they will not make me feel bad for not being ready. I don't post bad reviews - I usually tell my friends and move quietly on. This is my first. read more

My husband gave me a Massage Envy gift card for Christmas a few years ago. I kind of forgot about it, and finally used it last Christmas (2012). I had a great massage, and was actually talked in to signing up for the monthly membership. It has been over a year not and I am so happy I signed up! I have had some of the best massages I've ever had at this Massage Envy location. My absolute favorite masseuse is Ian. I had my neck fused in May 2013, and since that time my neck, shoulders and back have been extremely tight. I've seen Ian 3 times since November, and I am happy to say that I haven't felt this good in years. He really paid special attention to what I needed, and what areas were especially sore. He is the best! All the staff at the Bountiful location have been really friendly and great! I'm so glad I decided to become a member! read more

I've been going here monthly for massages for the last 3 years and I have never had a bad massage here. The staff is all very professional and great at finding the knots in my back. I leave feeling very refreshed. The first time I went they did talk me into signing up for a membership. I do not regret it. Getting a massage each month for $50 is an excellent deal. I love having an excuse to get a massage because I have credits available! read more

I've gone here a few times in the past and it was ok. I think I've found my therapist finally! Josh is very good at what he does! The only complaint I have is he has the same name as me...lol! On my first visit to this location I had a great massage. On my last visit I had the worst massage I've experienced. I was unsatisfied and decided to contact the location to explain the situation. What disappointed me most was that they never responded to my email. From my experience I have determined that they give inconsistent massages and really poor customer service. An utter disappointment. I came in with pain/stiffness and with the hope of being able to close my eyes, drift off, even drool if necessary. You know -- relax -- cuz it's a massage? Here's the scoop: Professional intake, though it would serve clients better if this wasn't done in the presence of other employees or clients. Privacy should be #1. Clean facility, but overall way too chilly for a massage place. Even the "heat pad" on the massage table could not counteract with the cold air. My therapist did not check in with me throughout the massage to ask if pressure was ok, temp was ok, etc. Often the massage was just painful, not relaxing. Strokes were too fast while being quite deep (the deeper the massage, the slower you should go). I had clearly stated my problem areas and where I did *not* want massaged. I was speechless when my problem areas received very little attention and the areas I did *not* want massage were in fact, massaged. My therapist talked way too much during the massage. Not appropriate. I couldn't wait for it to be over. At check out, I was asked in front of other employees and clients about leaving a tip. Inappropriate. If you ask certain prices for a certain service, a tip is an unwelcome surprise. And I felt obligated to leave one because of the public nature of the request. Not cool. Some experiences warrant a second chance. Sadly, this was a big miss for me and I won't be back. read more

I have been going to Massage Envy for years and had a short hiatus after some bad experiences with noise from the next door neighbor establishments in the strip mall. I started back again and have found no problem with the noise. I worked with Jeremy for several months and then he left to move to another state. Since that time I have had excellent massages from Josh, Martin and Susan. All use deep pressure massage, are pleasant, and have great technique. I had a massive headache when I went to Susan. She gives an incredible upper body massage with scalp work. It was glorious. read more

The massage and facial were fine. They sold my husband a package for Mother's day that was supposed to be a massage and a facial. After the services were performed, they informed me that the card was worth $125 (the price of the package) towards the services. I had to pay an additional $100! Really? For that price I could have gone to an exclusive day spa. That is a shady way to do business. read more

I signed up for a membership because the first visit was really good; told a friend about it, we made appointments for the 50 minute massages and arrived early so she could fill out the paperwork; I was taken at 2:15 (she was still waiting), realizing they were late taking us back I thought we would still get the full 50 minutes. Mine was finished at 2:55 (only 40 minutes!) and when I stepped out the door my friend, who was taken in after me, was already out. The quality of massage I got rated with a beginning student at a massage school but cost a lot more - the only time she touched my arms was to reposition them on the sheet and didn't massage my hands at all either. My friend said as she was paying the clerk said "we noticed you didn't leave a gratuity in the room, would you like to pay that now?" - being taken off guard she said "yes" but we both found that to be un-professional and rude - tips and gratuities are earned not automatic! Since I can't leave an online message for this site at the Bountiful location nor their corporate offices I'll assume they have no accountability and will finish out my remainign 10 months of membership at another location. If I could give this location (West Bountiful, UT) a ZERO star review, I would. Last May, I bought a 3 massage package for my wife. NEVER was I told verbally or in writing that this committed us to a minimum six month membership contract. After calling and speaking several times with a manager at the Bountiful, UT location they were not willing to cancel our membership until we paid for six more months. So, six months and $360 later, we called the Bountiful, UT location to cancel our membership. They would not allow us to cancel over the phone, so we went into the location and completed a cancellation form. To make matters worse and make us dislike Massage Envy even more, we were now told that even though we had paid for six months at $60 each, these massages were not ours to keep and we only had 60 days to use them or we lose them. What kind of scam is this? They REQUIRE us to stay and pay for six months at their mercy and we don't even get the luxury of using them at OUR convenience. We are once again under their thumb to use them in a limited time or we basically lose the $360 and the six massages that we clearly paid for!! Buyers beware. Don't let this Franchise owner get fat rich off their bull$#!* business practices. read more
