Update 6 days after filling out the suggested survey and requesting a response: Crickets. I heard from no one. Nice. They deserve less than one star. I went in for a 60 minute massage yesterday at 10:30. At 10:35, I was still in the waiting room- no big deal. A few moments later the therapist came and got me. I reiterated to her, exactly what I told the front desk person and what I filled out on my intake form: do not do leg massage. I do not like it. I laid down on the table at 10:40 and the massage began. After my shoulders, she moved to my legs. I told her again, please do not massage my legs. At 11:20, she said... you are good to go. THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I have been trying to cancel my account for over a month now. I filled out a paper in person, I have spoken to the manager 3 times, I have emailed four times. Stuck with Massage Envy: The facial services I received at Massage Envy were great. However, I was talked into paying $70 a month for a "membership." I realized afterwards that was not something that I can afford. I am a retired senior on a limited income. I called their office in Bradenton and told them I wanted to discontinue. I was told I would have to speak to the manager; the manager never called me back. I wrote an email to them asking to discontinue deducting $70 from my account; no response. I emailed them again; still no response. Today I got a saying "It looks like you don't have your next appointment set up and we want to get you on the schedule." There is a possibility that a class action suit may be filed due to the number of people who this has happened to. read more

Went to Massage Envy for a day of relaxation for a 90 min massage followed by a facial. It was a gift from Christmas and I hadn't had either in a long time and was in desperate need for both. From the minute I walked in until the minute I left I was greeted with smiling faces, professionalism and incredible talent. My masssage therapist JERRY was outstanding! He focused on all my knots and my painful , stiff areas as I asked. I woke up this morning a different person with ease of stretching and movement. My esthetician GRACE was also incredible, ( my face is glowing) and I am SO excited to return to Massage Envy for monthly work with these two Pros. Honestly,, 2 of the best services I have ever received and I have to thank my son for my gift card as I would have never know the talent behind your Massage Envy doors! Thank you!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars to this location I would, I absolutely would not recommend this location. I am not speaking about any of the massage therapists at this location, but I am speaking about the receptionist. I haven't figured out her name but I went in yesterday around 11:15, and she was completely rude and had no idea how to do her job. She charged me for a massage that she would not let me take when I had credits to use through my membership. I was pretty much being scammed. Thank god for the ladies at the Sarasota location that credited me a free massage, and also took me the next day and helped me figure things out! Definitely recommend going to Sarasota and staying away from this location! read more

My boyfriend and I were seriously considering joining Massage Envy and their monthly program. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst massages both of us have ever had. I explicitly told the therapist to focus on my scapula's and upper back. Also, that I have carpel tunnel pain in my thumb from being on my computer all day. Not ONCE did she relieve even the smallest knot in my back, and it was like she put zero effort into my hand massage. Actually, zero effort into the whole thing! I have had $250 massages and $30 Groupon massages. This massage was $70, plus a $20 tip (Which I regret). Also, you have to pay a freaking fee for leaving a tip because it's a separate charge and they use some third-party application so the therapists can receive same-day gratuities. I mean, seriously? You can't wait till your paycheck like the rest of us? IN ALL, I would happily choose a cheap Groupon massage over this! Inconsistent quality on massages from very good to poor because of high turnover and their cancellations. Inconsistent cleanliness of bathrooms. Poor management when issues were brought to their attention. A one off massage would probably be fine but do not sign a membership if the Bradenton location is the main place you will be using. I can not comment on other locations. read more

I had to fill out and sign a paper saying I was showing no symptoms of covid yet the lady who massaged was snotting and coughing through out the entire thing. When I mentioned it to the manager afterwards, she informed they're well aware she has a cough and knows I have young children to worry about but she's vaccinated and boosted. I told her that I didn't ask about her vaccinations but regardless I don't think it's right to come to work sick. I got a "well we are well aware of her cough.. anything else I can help you with?" fastforward 12 hours. My entire household is sick. AWESOME. Not worth the massage. read more

Louise had a decent massage but i was shorted 10 mins on the massage. I'm very skeptical on going to these chains because i know they don't pay their staff well. But as a massage therapist for 8 years and hearing that my back to back with a friend Teri was called into a separate room to tell how to tip accordingly due to the tip sheet posted in the room. After attempting to cancel my monthly pass for the second time (and not receiving a return call from a manager), I disputed $300 worth of unauthorized charges with my bank and blocked Massage Envy's ability to carry on with automatic deductions to my account. One month later, Massage Envy had the audacity to charge my account for two month's of services by using my card number to ring up a transaction (so they got around my bank's action of blocking the automatic payment). Again, a phone call with the supposed manager "Ash" resulted in refusal to process my request for a refund. I now have $420 worth of charges in dispute with Massage Envy, for services they have not delivered. I have spoken to three different people on three occasions in an attempt to cancel my monthly charges. Do not enter into an agreement with the incompetent staff at this facility. They will take action to collect money, but will not take action to process requests to cancel monthly contracts. read more
