Massage envy to most people is known for its average service. However I have found that it really depends on the actual location. Many years ago this location seemed above average but over the years has continued to worsen. The location has not been maintained and looks dirty. From the stained carpet to the yucky bathrooms, I find it hard pressed to feel anything therapeutic about this location and think Beth Stiller would be appalled at this location/franchise. read more

Worst membership mistake I ever made. $70 for massages where the masseuses don't show up on time. Give shit poor massages and then they lie about credits used. They literally stole 5 credits and said they don't know what happened to them!!! I cancelled and confirmed! Only a 3 star rating due to the overall condition of the facility. Walking into the place it appeared to be somewhat dirty; the waiting area to get a massage was also somewhat dirty. The massage room itself was very clean. Staff were very friendly. The masseuse was very professional and gave a really good message. I believe it's time for them to remodel or deep clean at the very least. Not sure if I'll return because of the untidiness. read more

I had a massage here yesterday and it was horrible. Multiple times during the service I contemplated asking to leave. It was cold, the music was not on, was told after the fact that it was broke, all I could hear were people coming in and out, the front desk talking, my massage therapist foot steps, the clock ticking and the table moving up and down. How is one supposed to relax with an environment like that? Now let's get to the actual massage. I really wanted to enjoy this. I kept telling myself the massage would get better and that it was the environment that was messing with my relaxation experience but that was foolish to think. Most times I felt like someone was merely putting lotion on me and other times it was an ok pressure that I could somewhat enjoy but definitely not medium firm like I asked. When I did speak up again for a heavier pressure it was like I was being punished. Her knuckles were digging into my shoulder blade, which I am paying for as I write this. After that, the massage therapist went back to rubbing my body as if she was putting lotion on. I felt like she was just staring at the clock also wanting it to be over. As my neck was being waved back and forth with finger tips, which felt like forever, the music turned on. You are thinking awesome but the noise shocked me and is indescribable. It won't let me link a video to show you how I left but the sound was like a broken air horn mixed with a fire alarm. I was startled but also happy to leave. I rushed on my clothes to get out of there and check out. Once I was checking out, I was just antsy to get out of there! I appreciate the front desk trying to get me to purchase a membership but there was zero chance I'd be signing up. The total came out to $99 without tip but was told originally that I was getting an intro rate. They agreed to giving me the $65 rate after a little back and forth. Phew, I was out of there. They have new hires which do not even know it themselves, misinform the customers, and then upper management refuses to do anything about it. First time at this location and I had a really great experience! They took protective measures during this time of Covid19 phase opening. I was called the day prior to confirm that I was in good health as well as to explain The arrival process. Check-in took place by phone from the parking lot, and I was called to come in (with mask on) when it was time. I was greeted at the door and given hand sanitizer, then my aesthetician, Belinda, escorted me back. All employees wore masks. Belinda was fantastic! I loved how she talked me thru the components of a good skin regiment, and explained the steps she would take during my facial. Enjoyed the educational component! So, I have had membership for almost 10 years. This was the first time I had a "bad" massage. I say that because for me a massage could never be bad! Any type of soothing touch is a good massage. But I feel compelled to mention this one mishap. It occurred over 2 months ago when I first moved to Texas. After all the moving and lifting, I really needed a good massage to relief the stress build up. They were really good getting me in last minute for a 90 minutes massage, which I was thankful for. But the 90 minutes was the worst 90 minutes ever.... I kept thinking, "When is this going to be over?" The front desk had already said that the person that was available only did a Swedish massage with light pressure. I thought great-- I didn't want too deep anyway since I want to relax and destress. So I even added a sugar foot scrub. Anyhow, it was a joke. The scalp massage felt like she was shampooing my hair. The light massage was more like a feathered massage. I barely felt any pressure and was wondering at some point if she was even in contact with my skin! Ugh. I hate writing negative reviews. read more

This is the second time I have had a massage with this company and location. Both times have been exceptional. I am also the weary costumer who does not do this a lot so it helps when people are very professional and not creepy at all. The staff is very friendly an approachable. I was in a lot of pain so that is why I came in. Without saying anything the front desk lady was able to tell I was walking funny and not sitting right. She went over my paper work to make sure she knew what to tell the masseur who would be helping me. Did I say I was in a lot of pain? Extreme pain. So the masseur was very professional and gave me a wonderful 90 minute hot stone massage. Which to me, those are the best! Though I should have probably gone in for a deep tissue. Second visit for a facial with Ashley (who 'no longer works at that location'), she did not wear a mask even though she looked a little under the weather, did not provide the correct facial I had requested and simply said we could 'do that one next time'. The fine print even states this price is the "member and/or first-time guest rate". At no point during the phone call to schedule the appointments for my fiancé and myself (both first-time guests) or during the intake process where they gather your information were we informed that this price is ONLY for members. I signed up for the year contract to lock down the promotional price. The moment I signed the paper I was told it was locked in for 12 months and I wouldn't be able to cancel. Seemed understandable... it's been 14 months and I realize I'm still being billed..called Alyssa and she informed me I was wrong about everything that was told to me and that I didn't need to lock in for 12 months, that it's been month to month this entire time. The only way to cancel is to sign a paper, wait for it to "process" then after 60 days my credits will disappear. As a consumer I feel completely disrespected and used. Alyssa made sure to keep me feeling that I had no options and that it's my fault and she stands behind her paperwork. Where did customer satisfaction go, where did empathy go. i received a gift card from this place and called to make an appointment and when that happened i didn't realize that i was making the appointment in the wrong location until the day of the appointment, when i arrived the message envy on eldorado the receptionist told me that my appointment was in another location and i said where craig ranch location and she said that i should call them and explain what happened so that they would not charge me for a cancellation fee and that is what i did, but the problem is that when i called and explain to the other location what had happened and the reason why i was making the cancellation she never told me that they would charge me anyways for not showing up because they are a franchise bussines, she said ok your appointment is canceled, they still charged me for not arriving to my appoiment because that is the policy of the company. this place doesn't care about customer service all they care about is money. i am not disturbed about the money they charged me but how the two message envy location employees handled the situation, i feel they were not honest with me or they have to give better training to their employees how the give better explations to customers they just lost a future customer for their bussines and i recomend to stay aways from this place read more

First I must stay the front desk ladies were very nice and welcoming but once I went to the back the energy was different. While I was waiting in the back the therapist walked right by me no hello or nothing, then he came back and said you ready. During the massage he knew I was previously in a car accident with a broken hip he asked me which side it was after I told him he started adding extra pressure like he was trying to hurt me. He was applying so much pressure using his forearm that he slipped a few times had to tell him to stop in that area, this man was big guy about 6'5". The most disrespectful part was when I was lying face down with my hands crossed he slap my hands loose stating with me having them crossed creates tension. There was a better way of conveying that message. I was thinking about purchasing the membership package because I live within walking distance to the location but after that experience I would never go back. READ YOUR CONTRACT! 10 months ago my wife signed up for 6 massages. The deal was Massage Envy would bill her credit card $65 a month for six months. $45 for a massage and $20 for the membership. Sounded good right? My wife asked "It's only for 6 months right?" She was told multiple times "Only for 6 months." Fast forward 8 months and they are still debiting our card. My wife called and was told "You signed a contract. You were supposed to cancel after six months or we keep billing ." We had to freeze the account to keep them from debiting it. Now we have 8 pre-paid massages that we have to pay an ADDITIONAL $20 each to use. No refunds. No courtesy. And Massage Envy's position is it's our fault for not reading ALL of the fine print. Massage Envy on Custer and 121 has usually been great! I have been a member there for years and the massage therapists have always been so great and they still are. Love the massage therapists! Unfortunately, service from the front desk has declined. There have been several times over the last 6 months approximately that I call and no one answers and sometimes once they do answer they sound dishoveled. At times I've called to see if I can get a same day massage and lately the front desk person quickly responds they are all booked and apologizes. I understand they may be booked and the front desk person is aware of the schedule, but there seems to be a lack of effort to be helpful. They used to helpfully mention when they had a next opening or even would take my name in case there was a cancellation... Again, the massage therapists have never fallen short of any but great, but less can be said for the front desk... read more

Overall, the place is clean, decorative, and neat. Mary was awesome! She got me in last minute, and I can honestly say that I had a pleasant massage experience. Mary was very knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and has great customer service. Unlike the two younger girls, that were not very friendly and when I was the only client in the waiting area, they were immaturely whispering in each other's ears. They both could learn a lesson about customer service from Mary. Everyone should know when they advertise 60 min. massage is really 50 mins. You must arrive 15 minutes before you fill out paperwork. It take 5 mins for the massage therapist to go over the paperwork you fill out including to change and to get on the table. The other 5 minutes are towards the end after the massage is over so that you can get dressed, and have the massage therapist explain their availability, and the best massage option. Since, I scheduled last minute there was a male therapist named Keith. He was fairly new. I was skeptical, but since I was already there I decided to stay. Keith was a better massage therapist, since I judged him by his experience and look. He explained everything, and asked all my questions, which made me trust him. Keith was very, courteous, sincere, and friendly.He worked on the areas that I needed the most. The negative thing I would say is that the rooms are so close together that you can hear the whole conversation next to you. I don't know how it is at other locations.
