My husband and I booked appointments the day before and we were lucky they were able to squeeze us in. They get pretty busy so appointments recommended. The front desk staff on both days we stopped by were very friendly and knowledgeable. One recommended the enhanced muscle therapy which was an excellent option to target specific areas. I have been paying a 2 credit membership for over 5 years and have well over 50 credits available. I was trying to transfer credits to a friend of mine to get their first ever massage, the 90 minute session costs 2 credits. I scheduled the massage at the Avondale location. The Avondale location told me they can't do a credit transfer and to call my home store flagstaff. I was told flagstaff would be able to do it no problem. I called the flagstaff store only to be told they could only transfer one credit and that the manager wouldn't be in and was too busy to take a phone call from the store. I had a facial today by Geana. She is absolutely amazing! She made me feel completely at ease. I have rosacea. She knew how to treat it. She was gentle with my skin and made sure I was always comfortable. Rosacea is a challenging skin condition that causes lesions and redness. I never felt embarrassed in her presence. She is very knowledgeable and provided me with detailed aftercare instructions. She was also fun to talk to! I can't wait until my next appointment! read more

It can be kind of hit or miss here but that may be due to some chronic issues specificities I have. I do know that there are notes added from therapist to therapist in everyone's file, especially based on the questions I get whenever I frequently get a new massage therapist for my scheduled appointment. Questions indicating there are notes indicating a way wrong pressure preference & etc come up frequently which is always easy to clarify at the beginning of each session but wish it was clearer & more efficient for the staff here. Consistently seems busy & it's usually about a month or two months out lately for booking appointments ahead of time lately. Sometimes you can get lucky & get in when there's been a cancellation but it's hit or miss with scheduling sometimes. My main frustration point is the check-in process usually: appointment is let's say at 3 but by the time you're even checked in, at least in my experience, it's at least 5 minutes before you're called back & then you clarify the preferences each time & such then get ready & wait ten minutes for the therapists to come back. That was the same pre-covid but I think it's due to the therapists being overworked (no one has said this of course but it's been a suspicion for a while now) & the company likely fitting people in too back to back to properly accommodate in an effective manner. I've only been to one other massage envy location that I can recall & don't remember if it's specific to this location or across the board. Just a shame because I prefer to support companies that best support their employees. There are local places I'll continue to check out when able. The therapists are usually great & I enjoy getting to know them. The mix between the therapists changing so frequently & the oddly long wait in scheduling, it's sad to not be able to consistently see a good familiar face when you come in. I'm not the biggest fan of being touched so strangers is a predicament lol... Not conducive for best relaxation practices. So things could be improved upon, but I've generally enjoyed the therapists. When capable, I also try to book well ahead but sometimes my schedule doesn't allow me to know if I'll be in town so I'm not always able. The subscription used to be nicer when it meant your price stayed the same but with the vid they upped the prices so I'm reconsidering if it's worth keeping. read more

Message envy is a great place to go if you're looking for a message. Their rates are a little pricey but for the level of care you receive I think it's well worth it. I had Kayla as my message specialist and she was amazing. She listened to every request I asked. She also focused on the areas I needed most and explained to me when I asked her what she was finding. My husband and I went - had appointments with Erin & Alexa. They have no idea what they're doing in there - wouldn't recommend anyone going here. They used weird pressure point technique and didn't use any typical effective massage technique to get out knots. We left in more pain than we started with. Can't speak to other massage therapists but imagine if they hire these two it can't be that great of a location. Also ridiculous pricing for non-members. Just wanted to relax a bit more during our visit so if you're looking for that don't go here. read more

I've been a member of ME for many years. I love to get massages at other businesses as well. I just had an amazing massage at this location with Payton! He was knowledgeable, listened and worked each area that was bothering me. I felt so much better afterwards. But that's not all. Before going to my appointment, I was out with my kids and one of them had brought a $100 bill they had been saving. I insisted on holding it for them in my pant pocket. While undressing for my massage it fell out. As I was leaving, Payton ran out with my $100 bill. That's integrity! That's character! So I must admit that I had never had a massage before and was a little nervous. I am super ticklish and though it would be uncomfortable. Boy was I wrong. Chloe was a magician! The setting was as expected super relaxing with soft piano music. I was greeted by a very nice receptionist and she walked me through what to expect which I appreciated. Chloe was very attentive to what I would like to get out f this massage. I opted for a full body with hard pressure. It did get slightly hard at times but I was in need of some super deep tissue pressure. She asked me to turn over and by that time I could hardly move and was close to falling asleep. I have severe back pain and very little seems to help. This worked wonders for me! An hour later and I still feel like jelly. Check out was painless. I expected a super hard sell to get me to sign up with a membership. I was of course asked but my first no was taken kindly and she just asked that I think about it. Don't be turned off by pressure to get you to sign up they are small business and paying Flagstaff prices it is expected and to be frank if I had the money I would be a member for life. In regards to the owners response on my previous review. Mark: It was more then just a one handed massage. It was the fact the woman was speaking to herself, using the other hand for hand motions as she was looking up at the ceiling, whispering to herself very aggressively. I worry you were not told the full story now by your response. It was so bad I was worried of my safety and left. It's more then just the massage pressure and the personality of the person giving me the massage, I was put in an unsafe situation and not taken care of by Massage Envy. This kind of experience is not easily pushed to the side and continue to use the left over 3 credits that was only extended til January, not several months. You would not refund me my money when I was put in an unsafe situation with a worker who is clearly not mentally well. Yes the other location can possibly refund me for the massage that took place on 11/9 but I reached out to your location to specifically handle my credits that you have control over. This experience was very horrible for me and I cannot just get back on a massage table by January or anytime soon. I believe you do not understand the seriousness of this situation and this makes me even more upset. Trust is needed when being massaged by someone for an hour or more while you are fully exposed and even naked. Trusting that the person who is massaging you is well and fit for work. My trust for this company and the simple trust of closing my eyes (wanting to relax) while having someone massage me is completely broken. I want nothing to do with massages in general and Massage Envy due to this experience. Trust me I want to use my credits but this experience is not something I can't look past right now. I am still very bothered and shocked I have to deal with this. All I wanted to do is relax and this has really just turned into a total nightmare. I purchased my GF a three massage 3 month package here a couple of months ago. The first massage was average at best by someone with little experience. The second massage by another person was much better. My GF went in last week for her third massage and was greated by the receptionist who tried to hard sell her in purchasing another plan. She copped a hostile attitude when the answer was "no thanks". The third massage was the worst one she said she ever had in all of the years she has been using spa services. Waste of my money and her time. I should have spent the money and bought her a package at Face and Body. Live and learn....stay away from national chains. read more

I'm not local to Flagstaff, so my visit to Massage Envy isn't likely to get repeated. But I wanted to give a shout-out to this place where I got my first post-Covid massage today. Heaven! My massage therapist, Fain, was terrific. Also the whole experience and service at the establishment was pleasant and professional. I had an appointment that I was extremely late to, and they kindly just let me re-book it instead of either cutting my session time or charging me as a no-show. I've been to many massage therapists. The deep tissue massage I got from Fain was exactly what I wanted.. She knew exactly how to apply strong pressure in the way that got the knots out. Strongly recommend! read more

This was the first professional massage I've ever had, and I have to say it was an excellent experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was very helpful and friendly, as well as on the phone before I arrived. I had a 1-hour deep-tissue massage with focus on my neck, shoulders, back, hands and arms by Alyssa, and it was incredible! She pointed out afterwards that I have some serious knots that will need more attention, and I can't wait to go back so she can knock them out! I felt like a million bucks when I left. My husband gave me a gift certificate for my birthday last year to Massage Envy and I was finally able to get some much needed down time to use it. Everyone was very professional but relaxed. The relaxation room could be a little more "peaceful" too much foot traffic, therapist and clients coming and going. The TV and biography binder should be in the reception area - difficult to read in dim lighting and a monitor running ads makes it feel like your watching TV in your family room. The candles are a nice touch adding some aroma therapy would make it better! Now for the best part, I don't like deep massage but I like a massage therapist who knows how to really get into those little areas around the shoulders and the neck to loosen me up. Jared is the best! He can get right into those little "wings" and works 'em. Breathing and being able to relaxe is such an important element of massage, Jared's calming and caring demeanor make it easy to do both. I was so happy with my overall experience that I signed up my husband and myself for the membership! If you like to get massage & facials regulaly it's a terrific value! I was given a gift certificate for a flat amount at this location. The facial and massage scheduling was easy and they had many availabilities/worked with my schedule. The receptionist was helpful and explained how I could use my gift certificate for 3 different massages and a facial-all for about 200 dollars! After living in Las Vegas for 6 years I would say that's a huge bang for your buck. The swedish massage was wonderful-I believe it was with Genna. She made the atmosphere comfortable and the heated massage table was a huge plus (as I often get cold). Music level and style was great as well. The only thing I would add would be once I turned over to lay on my back it would be nice to have something cover my eyes like a warm towel or aromatherapy eye cover. I then moved to a facial with Alexa. I typically don't like facials but figured I would get one since I had a gift certificate. The room was a bit cold-even with the heated table. She did a great job explaining the process and what lotions/therapy she used for my face. Also the extraction process didn't hurt. I don't think I would get another facial but it wasn't because of her work at all-more so just my distaste for them. The only negative for this location would be the sitting room (once inside the massage area). It is cramped and there is A LOT of foot traffic of both masseuses and customers. Not exactly a peaceful/serene area. I believe there was water, but no tea or anything special about the waiting area. Overall, this location is great with friendly people and affordable prices. read more

She asked what was the thing I wanted worked on most and then she did not spend hardly any time on that area. It was an average massage. Nothing stood out as really good. I love Massage Envy in Flagstaff. I had trouble finding the right therapist that fit my needs but then I spoke my thoughts to the manager and she gave me a list of therapists that might better fit what I was looking for. One in particular was a gentleman named Jared. He is amazing. He really focuses on your areas of concern or areas he notices need help all while keeping the pressure that you request. He helped walk me through how to truly relax and breath during certain points and in turn I was not sore the next day, but felt like a million bucks each time. Horrible experience at this so-called business. I got up early for a massage. I was really excited to get the massage. Because I said I had a cough that morning to clear my throat they would not let me have the massage. This was crazy and they wasted my entire morning!!! The staff was very rude about the entire matter and were condescending in their tone to me. When I called later to speak to a manager--the front desk person did not want me to speak to the manager. I've been a member for almost three years. I find that paying for a monthly therapeutic massage ensures that I'll actually schedule it and follow through. I credit massage with the fact that I've been able to maintain a fairly rigorous running schedule for a woman of my age and ability for the past three years without any injury. I always go to the same therapist. She knows my needs as well as a physical therapist would, and always provides thorough and effective treatment. She also tailors each session to my needs at the time. If I'm sore from a workout, she gives the sore muscles more attention, but if I just want a full body massage at a more relaxed level of pressure, she provides that. This is for their facials only. While the facial I had was decent I was flabbergasted that they charged $10.00 for products USED DURING THE FACIAL! I have been getting facials for 25 years all over the US, in spas and salons ranging from quaint local establishments to destination spas and NEVER EVER been charged for products used during a facial. This would be like being charged for lotion used during a massage. I have not seen anything informing clients that there is a $10.00 fee for products. This should be stated up front when making the appointment (I would have not booked one) or given the option to bring my own. read more

One of the wost massages I experienced at Massage Envy! I go all the time and this had to be the worst massage I ever!!!!!

Asked for head, neck and shoulders primarily. Asked for little to no lower back, due to the three surgeries I have had in that area. Received a massage with about half the time spent pressing directly on my lower back, and little time actually on my head, neck or shoulders. Today I can barely walk upright, my sciatic nerves are on fire and the pins and needles in my toes are about enough to make me want to scream. I feel like I was hit by a bus. On the flip side, everyone was very nice and polite, and the decor was lovely. 1/10 will not be back. Next time I want to feel like this I'll just throw myself off a mountain and save myself the 60 bucks. read more
