Would not actually let us transfer, so had to close our account in fleming island and open a new account in Oakleaf, even though we moved! If I could report the fleming island location to corporate I would definitely do so, although not confident anything would change. This has been a year long BATTLE with fleming island. Horrible management. I reached out multiple times requesting to resolve an issue via a phone call or face to face. I never received a phone call. I requested multiple times that the manager to call me however she was never available or in office. The lack of communication and accountability is extremely unprofessional. When she responded via text, she clearly didn't even know the situation. If management can't be bothered to contact customers when there's a problem, that says a lot about how this place is run. I told Melissa that I was having neck pain, and that my preferred pressure level was firm. She got in there and went to work! I could tell she was doing exactly what my body needed. I paid for my husband and daughter to get a massage 2/13/26. It was her birthday that day and a Valentines gift for my husband. We had never been there before and they had openings available for them that fit their schedules. Well my husband had a decent experience but my daughter came home started crying because she was so upset her experience was horrible. The girl's massage was a light touch and when my daughter told her she could be harder(a few times) her comment was it doesn't have to hurt to do anything for you. I had requested in advance as least a medium firmness for her and a firm for my husband. I called and left 2 voicemails and even spoke with a girl twice to have the manager call me back or my daughter. I did find out that the girl has fresh out of school and that was her first day there. The manager never called back. I give a 2 because at least my husband got his knots in his back worked out. Fleming Island location manager must not care about their client experience. Impossible to schedule. Never answer phone and the rare times I get thru there are no deep tissue appts available for weeks. Have monthly plan and still cannot get in. They need to stop selling those until they have staff to fulfill. I cancelled mine with 13 accruals and now have 60 days to use them jet first available deep tissue is 3 weeks out. I'm so disappointed with this location! My husband purchased me a gift card for Mother's Day for a 90 minutes massage. I called on 06/03/2022 to schedule an appointment and was told I needed a credit or debit card to schedule the appointment called back about 2 minutes later and spoke with the same young lady who had answered the phone the first time. She told me that they didn't have any availabilities until 07/02/2022 for a 90 minutes massage due to them being short of staff. I wasn't happy about having to wait that long, but I didn't complain about it. I provided the young lady with my debit card information and she proceeded with scheduling the appointment. She told me that I was scheduled for 07/02/2022 at 10:00 am. I showed at up at this location in Hibernia at 9:45 am on 07/02/2022. The young lady working at the front desk ask me my name and when I told her my name she said they didn't have an appointment scheduled for me. I was confused at this point because I know I wrote the date and time in my calendar. But, I thought to myself may I made a mistake with the date. So I asked the young lady, do you see anything scheduled for me at all? She said no we don't have you in our system at all. Then she asked are you sure you called here? I said yes I'm sure because I looked up Massage Envy in Hibernia and that's the number I called. I didn't feel like debating whether or not I called that location or not. I came there to get tension removed not add more. I asked if it was possible to just get a refund because I felt like at this point, this location is on some type of shady business mess. My spirit started to feel uneasy. She advised me that I wouldn't be able to get a refund. I didn't put up an agruement, I just asked her to scheduled me for the next available appointment. Went home and looked up my phone history for 06/03/2022 and seen that I had called Massage Envy at 904-529-7170, twice. One call was 2 minutes and 14 secs and the second call lasted for 8 mins and 46 secs. I tried to contact the manager but never got an answer. I just said forget it, I will just go ahead and keep the scheduled appointment... I went in today 07/24 2022 at 12 pm, received a good massage. After my massage I tipped the guy. I walked out the door. Before I pulled out of the parking lot I realized I didn't give the front desk my gift certificate. I walked back in to give the young man my gift card and he said oh I'm sorry I went ahead and charged the card that was on file for you. I asked what card because that last time I came in it was a whole big mess about me not being in the system. Long story short, he charged the same card that I gave the lady back on 06/03/22 over the phone to schedule the appointment for 07/02/2022. So basically the young lady that was sitting at the front desk on the day of 07/02/2022 lied right to my face. I never gave her any card information that day. That's a fact, because at that point I wasn't for sure what happened the first time I provided my card information. Definitely will not be going back here again. The worst experience I ever had with a massage business. I gave the young man my gift card that was the correct amount of payment for the massage. Now I'm waiting on the manager Crystal to come in tomorrow to place my 105.00 back on my debit card... What I'm about to do now is contact my back and advised them of a possible fraud. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical about going to a Massage Envy because of the things I've heard in the news but my husband purchased me a gift card for V-Day. I booked an appointment and the day finally came. I walked in and there were two young reps at the desk. As soon as I walked in one asked" Are you, ​Mrs. R," and I replied Yes. He asked me to have a seat. I sat for about 2 mins or less and the other young lady, Audry came and sat next to me with an Ipad. She introduced herself​ and proceeded to walk me through​ the prompt that required my responses. Once I completed the questionnaire, she walked me to the 'quiet room' but before she left she asked if I would like any water, tea, or coffee. She also pointed me to the restroom​ if​​ needed to go before my session began. Lastly, she informed me of the name of the massage therapist that would be​ providing my services. The ambiance​ was low soft lighting with very relaxing music playing​overhead​d. My appointment was scheduled​ for 12:30, I arrived at​ about 12: 05, I was seated in the quiet room about 12:20, and my massage therapist gathered me about 12: 25. I was taken to a room, nicely lit, very clean and comfortable. My therapist explained the process, asked if I had any additional questions, and then left the room for me to prepare. Let me tell you how amazing Cindy was very​ professional, and she really has​​e a passion for what she's doing. She was thorough​, gentle, she explained what she was doing and what to expect. I had a gift certificate and went in for the 90 minute massage. They make you fill out a lot of paperwork that is directed towards physical therapy type care but this is a massage center. Then they only had a relaxation massage open. I Voiced my concerns but they assured me it was not petting. Wrong. Basically it was just someone rubbing lotion on me. Then I mentioned my 90 min massage was only 80 min and then they said that is correct because that includes 5 min before and after for dressing and consultation. Rip off. This review has zero to do with COVID. This is a review of their customer service and business. Net net, it's a bad investment to have a membership here. And they know it. Basically they count on you to be a sucker and sign up for the membership. I was a sucker for 2 years. Paid the monthly fees. Paid for up-charge for their up-sale items, etc. where you learn your value is when you have a challenge in life. I have to miss my appt, first one ever and after a coupes years of being a member (a sucker). And their "policy" is they charge you in full. When I asked for some leniency, it was clear that people cancel all the time and they don't care about recidivism. So, net net, save yourself some money and DO NOT become a member here. It did not get me any added services, perks, savings, etc. AND don't fall for the decrease in price, as it always seems to end up at full charge once you do any one thing outside of just have a 45 min massage. I have always had a great time there...with both front office and the therapist... until recently... my therapist is wonderful and totally enjoy and entrust this person... but the front office personnel has become rude and do not have any kind of professionalism at all... I work in the medical field and would be appalled if from front office staff talked to my patients as these young individuals do... I visited once after booking for a deep tissue massage. I got a guy who didn't do deep tissue, by their own admittance, and who talked to me the entire time! It was not relaxing and a waste of my money. I was polite and tipped but made sure to ask for a deep tissue specialist the next time. Then, I made an appointment over a month out before I left. I figured I let the miscommunication the first time slide. Today I called to verify two hours prior to my scheduled appointment. First, they couldn't find me then they let me know it was cancelled because the therapist called out and the booked someone else in the spot the should have offered me. Next available spot? 45 days out! The receptionist seemed new and didn't offer an apology until I asked for one and explained that this was unacceptable and disappointing. As a busy, working mom, making time for a massage is a big deal. The receptionist even recommended I seek another location with more specialized therapists! I would be mortified to be the manager or owner of this business. Customer service is lacking all around and there is a complete ineptitude for problem solving there. I liked Cindy who gave my mother and I a massage at different times. She's really sweet and makes you feel comfortable. She's been doing massages for about 3 years now and my mom had horrible neck pain and she did a great hard massage my mom was very impressed! I just don't like that the front desk has like 3 girls there all at the same time with no room to move in, and it's just a bit awkward with them when you first come in. Other than that, I was given tea and water and i felt relaxed. It's a introductory price of $40 but if u sign up to be a member it's $70 your next visit. I rather just go try somewhere else because even tho the massage therapists are nice I just feel like they are overworked, something about this company just doesn't seem right. read more

The massage services are good, so my low score does not reflect the product. It's the company. Another example of unscrupulous contract lock-in when you get their membership. DO NOT sign-up for the membership. Un-notified price increase, shortened billing cycles and cancellation process that required email confirmation that they did not advise me of over the phone, nor did they send it via email after being billed several months. I know it's common business practice these days as I have experienced it with gym memberships and other monthly membership services. If you use them just pay-as-you-go. The thing I like about massage envy chains is the consistency at each location and I love the heated beds. Most therapists are very kind and respectful. The facilities are usually clean with peaceful music playing, but I would have to agree with the cost, pricing, and sales pitch to get you into a year-long contract. They would have a lot more customers if they would just let the customer come in when they wanted or needed a massage and make it a reasonable price. $90 for a 50-min massage is not reasonable! read more

This is our 2nd different location, and both have been relaxing, professional, friendly and worth bragging about, which we do often. I have used probably 6-8 different therapists over the years and have never had a bad massage. We believe that it has really affected our physical and mental health for the better. I became a member of Massage Envy in hopes of giving myself something to do to relax. Unfortunately, I was not able to come monthly and enjoy my services because of a very hectic schedule. My first bad experience included booking a massage and facial for myself and a business associate because I had some many pre-paid services on my birthday, September 23. We each have 3 children and work many hours and were looking forward to a day of relaxation. We both obtained childcare in order to enjoy this. One hour prior to our appointments, a rep from Massage Envy called me and stated that their massage therapists was having car trouble and could not make it into work. Then on another occasion a few months later, I scheduled two massages, one for me and one for my husband as he had injured his back at work and needed some relief. Upon arriving on time for our appointments, the girl at the counter stated that they booked another guest for one of our massages. She was extremely rude and unapologetic. In April I decided to cancel my membership. I emailed the company and was told that my membership would be canceled and that I had 60 days to use my 9 paid services which totals $531 that I had paid for but not used. The catch was that I had to pay another month's fee of $59 in order to use them. I declined and told them that I would not be using the services and to just cancel the membership. This company has now reported me to collections for $120. I discovered this upon arriving home from a very long holiday last week. I knew that this must be a mistake and contacted the Fleming Island office. The manager that I spoke too verbally admitted that she saw the email stating that my account was to be canceled and could not explain why I was reported to collections. Again, the staff was rude and unapologetic. I have worked very hard to keep a stellar credit rating by paying my bills on time and it ridiculous that they are charging me for what appears 2 months membership fees when I canceled. read more
