I would like to say thank you Emily for reaching out to me for my bad experience for my first visit at this location. Emily recommenced me to one of their best massage therapist, Angelica. Angelica did an amazing job on my neck where I've been having issues for months. Within the first 10 minutes, I was able to move my neck without any pain or stiffness! She definitely can do deep tissue pretty well! There was a point where she asked me if the pressure was good because I was tensing up haha. It was a hurt/good feeling haha. I felt like a little baby when she asked if was like doing okay. Unfortunately, I was a bit embarrassed and I told her she was strong so she lighten up a bit for me haha. Angelica is a great therapist and I highly recommend her. She is very educated in this field and it impressed me that she knew I was dehydrated. I never knew that being dehydrated can cause all this stiffness and pains that I have. I have a deep tissue therapist that I usually go to at different location up north and Angelica blows him out of the water hands down. This place is HORRIBLE! If I could give them negative stars, I would absolutely do it. I scheduled a massage for myself and my wife to be done at the same time. The appts were booked pretty far out so we had to wait about 3 weeks or so. Of course, we were looking forward to our session and the anticipation grew as the scheduled appt grew near. Unfortunately, the day before our appt., we got a call from them telling us that they would not be able to honor our scheduled appt! Needless to say, both my wife and I were pretty disappointed. I guess things happen. It was a week or so later, I decided to try again. It is pretty difficult to get a time that works for both my wife and I but I called Massage Envy again and scheduled another appointment. Again, they were booked up for almost a month out. We finally settled on a day/time and I booked it. Well, you can guess where this is headed, I get a call on Thursday (our appt was for the 2 days away on Saturday), and was told that they did not have anyone that could give us our massages...., WHAT!?!? It has now been over 3 MONTHS since I have been trying to get a massage and they can't schedule 2 techs to do our massages!?!? Whoever is running this place is a joke and should NEVER be in charge of ANY business. I am shocked that they are still in business! Not only did it not get better it got worse. I could tell Inez was talking down to me when she first picked me up for my massage today then she came in too early when I said repeatedly I was not ready and then stood there still in the room while I adjusted then started touching me before I said I was ready. So it didn't start right but I eventually started relaxing so I thought maybe this time would be different. But then she kept maneuvering me while massaging me into a weird position and then when I had to readjust she didn't stop. I kept telling her the head rest was an issue and it never had been before in the year I had been here before. She said it had always been like that and I was like nooo one of your other clients or you have put it in a weird position because it was not an issue before. I had told them my neck hurt on a previous session and she said today she thought it was the headrest but really - and I told her - it was the way she had massaged it heavily that day and I had tried to see if she had just been having an off day by coming back. But I was right the first time-and didn't trust my first experiences with her and the office the way I should have. I was giving the benefit of the doubt. Then today I asked her to step out so I could adjust the way I had wanted to when she came in too early. When she stepped back in during todays session she kept repeatedly asking to make it a 90 and I commented that it doesn't sound like you really want to massage me (based on how often she was asking to end it) and she was like no you sound uncomfortable (like, trying to somehow put it on me when she was the one bringing it up) and I was like I'm getting there (comfort) but I asked for a two hour. I kept saying I'm good, let's just continue. This was honestly the scheduling issue before. If Inez doesn't want to do 2 hours this needs to be communicated to clients in advance or she needs to be up trained if she gets bored or doesn't know what to do during that time. I could tell by this point in the massage that she was trying to make this session difficult because then she wouldn't stop talking when I'd gone quiet and as a client I'm used to directing my therapists to either talk or not talk. When I asked her to stop talking, she said oh I'm stopping it an hour early now because asking her to stop talking was too rude for her (I have had many therapists tell me to say whether they like quiet or talk nor did I say anything other than can you please stop talking). I apologized genuinely with my head up (not sure why I needed to for what I said at this point still) but I'm pretty sure it was planned on her part to provoke and then wait until I said something off so she could call it early. If she doesn't want my service that's fine. I'll take it elsewhere but there's no need to be passive aggressive about it. I was wondering if I should come in today because of the way the last few sessions have gone and this confirms I'll be looking for a new place. The front desk was like sometimes it's not a good fit and maybe you can try someone else and based on the horrible way the office has dealt with appointment confirmations (another long review I posted and actually deleted on here before my second update to once again give the benefit of the doubt) I was like oh no I'll be looking for a new location at this point. Only do one-offs, DON'T BECOME A MEMBER or they'll cheat you I used to use Massage Envy quite frequently, and found it to be a good deal (not as good as much more expensive spas, but actually affordable, and not sleazy like cheaper spas). Unfortunately they've begun a practice of fraudulently billing customers. The way they run their scam is that they call you to schedule an appointment, and then if you don't answer they "schedule" you one anyway - but they don't say that on the messages they leave, so you as the customer have no way of knowing that they "scheduled" you. Then when you "miss" your "appointment" they call to tell you that you'll have to pay for it. Since Massage Envy works primarily on a subscription basis in practice this just means that they'll be able to burn down your banked massages without having to actually deliver them, potentially without even having the staff on hand to do them at all (though of course that's merely a conclusion, since I'm not in their office). If you then cancel your membership because you don't want to do business with a company that uses fraud as the basis of their business model and send that communication to their customer service contact online (which promises a reply within 48 hours, try it with the link below) they won't honor the cancellation and will continue to bill you. Below you'll find my most recent communication to them (which I expect to be ignored again despite their 48 hour promise) so you can get a feel for how this location runs the scam, along with a transcript of the voice messages they left. I have no desire to talk to persistent fraudsters who falsely claim to have delivered services they never did, or who claim that an appointment was missed that they scheduled on their own without talking to the customer so they could pay their numbers. 2/23 voicemail: Hi this message is for Rob to see ____ calling from Glendale Massage Envy I see that you have an appointment tomorrow for 10:30 AM unfortunately Nicole is not gonna be able to be in tomorrow um to __ something that came up so um we were wondering if you wanted to reschedule to either another therapist that same day or if you wanted to just um stay with ___ and just move to another day so whatever works for you just give us a call back at 623-931-3689 thank you so much bye. With no return call, or appointment scheduled you then left this message, 2/24: Hi Rob this is Cheryl I'm calling for Massage Envy in Glendale I was just calling to make sure everything was OK 'cause you did have an appointment today at 9am with Rosa could just give us a call back and let us know if you're coming in or not just keep in mind I will be back _____ um no call no show will result in 100% charge to go ahead and give us a call back thank you and have a great day. So according to Massage Envy's own records you fraudulently and willfully "scheduled" an appointment on Monday knowing that no such schedule had ever been sent to me, let alone actually received or agreed to. Massage Envy then compounded those fraudulent actions by charging my credit card after receiving a message from me explicitly revoking any such authorization and cancelling my membership, for the exact reasons above. Since you chose to ignore the message I sent to you the evening of 2/24 via the channel Massage Envy promotes on its website as explicitly for this purpose (https://www.inmoment.com/websurvey/2/execute#!/1) I will necessarily also be posting this to many other sites so that potential customers can see how your location actively plans to use your "customers" as a free cash resource rather than payment in exchange for services. It is unfortunate that the Glendale Massage Envy is no longer a legitimate business, as it had been effective in the past. read more

Unique and Casey, the Wellness Advisors at the front, were informative, personable and generally wonderful. I walked in with a migraine headache and ankle pain. I was there to get a deep tissue massage and instead I received one of the worst massages I've ever had. First, my therapist did not listen to my needs, she pretty much did her own thing. I am sad to give this location such a low rating but I must explain further. I decided to try this location for the first time today and have a dual session of a massage and facial for my birthday. The massage therapist and the esthetician I had were both very nice. Unfortunately, there was an abundance of loud noise in the hallway. It seemed as if every moment that I was falling into a moment of serenity I would be interrupted either by the loud ring of a landline phone, someone yelling the name "Emily" down the hallway, or just loud hallway conversation in general. I mentioned this to the two ladies at the front desk and the response was that Sunday was a busier day for them and it is just loud on the side I was on. This is unacceptable and I have never experienced this at the plethora of places I've visited for massages and/or facials. I got a membership for my days and myself I was paying $ 59.00 for myself and $ 49.00 for her a month the last 2 months they charged our accounts $ 65.00 and $ 55.00 Our contract was up in April which we weren't informed and we also wasn't informed that the prices went up and they changed us to month to month .. I called in to ask why they over charged us to find all this out . Never got a email or a phone call to let us know this is what was going to happen they apologized for it and send they would send me cancellation paper work to fill out and that we could use any un used massages with in 60 days I asked for a refund for our payments this month and she said she couldn't do anything that a manager had to call me 24-48 hours and it would take 7-10 days to cancel after the forms are filled out .. maybe I'm overreacting but I feel if your contract is up they should contact you before renewing and if they are going to raise prices on you then they should let you know .. the only reason I gave them a 3 star is because the massages have always been great .. I was so excited that they opened this location close to my house and I had been there twice without problems, but now I will never go back again. I called today to make an appointment with Yaritza but she wasn't available, and there were no other female massage therapists until 8:30 pm, so I scheduled an appointment with Kimberly tomorrow at 2 pm. Seems pretty straight forward. I got a call shortly after 2 pm today asking where I was. I let them know that it wasn't until the next day, but the girl that called me said that it had been arranged so that I would be seen today with Yaritza because another massage therapist was going to take her appointment. What?! That would've been nice, except it was never communicated to me at all. I'm not sure if the girl making the appointment is mentally retarded.
