We each laid down on the "bed" with our feet dangling into a container of warm water. A blanket was put on each of us. While our feet were soaking, the massage therapists rubbed our arms and hands. They proceeded to wash and dry our feet after the arm massage. The foot and leg massage was beyond heavenly. Two of us dozed off. It felt like every cell in my body was soothed. They rubbed our feet and legs with their hands and then with hot stones before finishing by wiping and drying us. I have never had such a wonderful foot massage and I get full body massages every two weeks from another place. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because communication was difficult. I have two bad hips. When my massage therapist manipulated my legs, I almost yelped in extreme pain. I jumped and bit back tears a few times. Zen foot spa uses reflexology, hot stones, and physiology to really make you feel good, and they don't bug you with conversation so it's a very serene environment. I get so relaxed after that I feel like I'm under the influence. The pricing is very fair!! Much more reasonable than the chain places and it's consistently been worth paying for. Love this place. Before the service began, I requested to see a copy of the massage therapist's license. The individual refused, stating he was "just an employee" and could not provide it. I informed him that, under Virginia law (18VAC115-20-50), massage therapy licenses must be displayed or made available upon request. Instead of complying, he handed me a business card and stated that only the owner could provide the license information. He then refused to offer me any treatment. At the time, there were no other customers present. The staff left me alone in the business while they sat outside in the mall.

My neck gives me a lot if trouble since my accident so I try to get a massage once the pain gets too unbearable. The first two emails gave me an address- which I went to- but the last email right before the appointment had a different address I didn't notice. So I went to place 1- wasn't right. I bought 75 reflexology, hot stone and paid an extra 15 dollars for deep tissue. Britney I believe did mine, and there was zero reflexology unless you include her circling my foot around my ankle. 5 seconds tops. She didn't do what most massage therapists do, which is when they find a knot or specific area- they work it out. Instead it felt like she was just sort of giving everything a quick go over. (I actually filled out paperwork prior to this explaining the areas needing work) My back which was by far my worst area- she did in 5-7 minutes. Literally did nothing. The pressure wasn't the issue so it's not as though telling her to increase it would help. I was SOAKED btw at the end in oil, I felt so gross. And I've had a million massages, so I understand the use of oil. But this was excessive. Oh! And in the middle of the massage she had to stop at least 7 times to do something or prepare something (I don't just mean the hot stones which I understand she had to heat up and get) for like 45 seconds each time. She'd be bumping stuff around, I heard items fall and 45 seconds is kind of a long time to wait while getting a massage that it makes it way less relaxing and flowing if it's stop and go a lot. The only things that were great was the foot massage(that was EXCELLENT) and both women I spoke to were in general very nice. I just wasn't happy with my massage. The decor was also nice. Also at the end I asked if I could tip on the card and with the massage therapist literally standing next to me the woman asked "so how much will you tip her?" So it was awkward. I wanted to say "honestly 5-10% because it wasn't great at all" but felt weird being that big of a jerk so I did 20%. I hate writing bad reviews especially for a place with only 1 review so far so I know it will impact it... but this is some real honest feedback. Update: They contacted me on their Facebook review replies and essentially called me a liar, telling me the photo I took wasn't accurate and that I lied about the tip.
