Imagine calling for a massage and facial only to find out you're a member and it's no charge (yes I already paid for it but let me enjoy the moment!) After a long night at the casino I went in for a facial since I read they now have Obagi here. Got the 90 minute massage with someone who had the softest hands and most calm voice but did a little pinch move on my shoulders that hurt like heck. Because I needed it! I had knots in my back and she brought in a machine like a jackhammer that felt amazing. Rapid tension relief is its name and its $15 extra but worth $50! Then I rushed across the hall to my facial with Mariah. Ahhhhh she scrubbed scraped popped and left me glowing. I loved every minute. The checkout at the end here in Florida was a lot less pushy than it is in DC too. We gone tip dang gimme a minute to drink this teaspoon of water you guys give us first. I cannot emphasize enough the exquisite experience I had with the East Hollywood Massage Envy. This office should be teaching the national franchise class on bespoke customer service.  I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 10 years and I have never encountered this level of customer experience or competency. (Note: I'm from the Washington, DC area and am spending the month in Hollywood). Which is surprising, considering how my day on January 23rd started.  I arrived for my 10:00 am massage and after waiting for about 5 minutes, received news that my therapist would not be in and I had to change my plans. However, that is where the bad news ended. The extremely competent manager, ASHLEY, wasted no time noticing that I had been waiting (after only 5 minutes past my scheduled time) remedying the situation. After walking past me sitting in an empty waiting room, I could hear ASHLEY immediately start trying to locate my therapist. (This stood out to me because I have checked in at other Massage Envy locations and been left waiting from upwards of 10-15 minutes past my scheduled appointment time without anyone noticing.) The fact that ASHLEY was aware of what was happening in her store and immediately took action is impressive to me.  When ASHLEY came to tell me that my 10 am appointment was not going to happen, she immediately re-booked me that same day (also very rare) and offered to comp a portion of my service. That certainly improved my day and I was happy to accommodate.  While waiting for my afternoon appointment, Ashley even called me and offered me another time slot as an earlier option. On that call, I let her know that it was my birthday and I appreciated the extra effort she was making to ensure I received good service.  When I returned back for my services that afternoon (massage and facial), ASHLEY also offered me an add-on service for my birthday. The massage I received was exquisite. GINA was so skilled, that I booked a repeat appointment the following week. My facial was also to die for. The skill level of the esthatecian (DEE) was beyond expert!! She even fixed some problems I had been struggling with for over 6 months!!! To further exceed my expectations and end my special day on a high note, ASHLEY surprised me with a birthday cupcake, DEE the esthatecian and ANDREA the front desk professional sent me home with a swag bag of skin care samples to test, and as I walked out hugging everyone, there was a smile on my face and a skip in my step.  In today's society, quality customer service is becoming harder to find. The team at this location were beyond experts. Went for my last massage at massage envy . Yes the gentile man that does my massage is off the chain but the front desk stinks and act like they are doing you a favor. Many companies lose customers because of bad management customer relationship. Had to call another massage envy to get info on massages as this place is Persnickety at Sheridan location. Really liked it when you could buy the three massages for 65 each but now you have to but 6 or 12 and this is steep . Massages for non members is 115.00 . I guess I will have to look else where as these are difficult times with a substantial amount. I went there to use a gift card I had received for my birthday. I needed to pay a difference of $20 so I decided to use a visa gift card also from my birthday. They swiped my $100 gift card for $80 and told me it did not go through so I paid with my credit card. Following day I tried to use my visa gift card and did not work, after about a month of callings back and forth with visa and an investigation, I find out that the charged my Visa card for $80 too. I came in here for a facial after I received a $100 gift card. I ordered a custom facial and had the esthetician, Dee. Dee was relatively friendly and did an excellent job on my custom facial. I was very relaxed and enjoyed my 60 minutes thoroughly. I liked that Dee was not overly pushy with trying to sell products afterward. However, the front desk was a little pushier than I'd like when it came to trying to make me become a member. However, $65 a month is a bit excessive for me to pay for despite all the glorious benefits it could save me. I think I'd just come here maybe two times a year at most to get a facial. I had a 90 min (=80min) massage at this location recently. The masseuse did not speak any English so any communication was next to impossible. She used surgical gloves for the entire time but I wasn't told about this ahead of time. It felt like getting rubbed with a shopping bag, just horrible. After massaging my feet she continued on my neck and near the face without washing hands or changing gloves. 90 minutes in the same gloves for $180 plus tip! They reached out to me via phone but I don't ever want to go there again nor do I want to talk to the manager. read more

Have to admit started off a bit bumpy because I had (3) services scheduled a few weeks ago & received a call a little before 8AM the day of my appointment that my masseuse wasn't available. The only other appointment for a 60 minute (vs a 90 minute) massage was at 12PM (vs 10AM). That meant I had to cancel my rapid tension & my facial for the day (which I took off from work). I took the 12PM and was scheduled with Marcos. He was very good and did a great job with pressure and consistency of the massage. I would absolutely give this place another star (or 2) if they had a better way of balancing call outs from their staff to not impact customers receiving 3 hours worth of services. I was very excited to start my journey with Massage Envy until I had the worst experience with the manager Ashley at the East Hollywood location. You may have a much better experience if you are not a person of color. I had an appointment set up and Massage Envy contacted me to reschedule because one of their aestheticians called out. I worked with them and altered my schedule, which was a huge inconvenience, in order to help them help me. The time they rescheduled me for didn't allow me to get the massage and facial that I originally wanted, so I had to choose one or the other. After working all month long, all I want is a massage and facial once a month. I did not want to do one or the other. I requested to reschedule and ended up getting charged $20 for a cancellation and received no service. Massage Envy and their management team did not help me take care of me. Ashley didn't have a care in the world or any type of sympathy toward the situation. Ashley hated the fact that a young, African American, male had a monthly Massage Envy membership. I work way too hard to be treated this way and the entire situation is unfair. I am currently waiting to file a claim with my bank and I have canceled all of my appointments with Massage Envy East Hollywood. I wish to never step foot in this location and I hope to get a refund and continue my journey at a different Massage Envy location. read more

So I honestly always put Massage Envy in the back of my mind as a "chain" and kinda wrote them off. Well... I have had three appointments now And each one was amazing. I ended up enrolling in ten monthly membership and I do NOT regret it. Last week I had my first facial there and I had Diana K. I have very problematic skin and always have. I honestly have never felt so at ease with someone handling my skin and she provided me so many great tips to incorporate my current skin care products ( I have a lot... ) which I really appreciated that because typically they try to sell sell sell and I hate that. She addressed my main problem points and my skin has never looked or felt better. I am going to continue monthly with her. She is honest and amazing at what she does! Jessica the manager is horrible at customer service. I stopped my massage after 15 mins because it was horrible. Very uncomfortable. I go to front desk to discuss the issue and Jessica is like " Well Kadedra said it was very firm......" Kadedra the masseuse, I told her, at start, that I wanted a medium FIRM massage and requested more firm during the massage when she asked. Instead I got a very light and uncomfortable rub down AND very firm in all the wrong places (I.E directly on my spine with her elbow). The knots in my back went completely unnoticed the entire massage(15 mins). Im athletic. Horrible experience. I got very firm elbows & forearms the entire time while anytime her hands touched me- she was rubbing. Actually rubbing... not massaging. They canceled my 1st appointment originally (while I was in the waiting room and after I did my paperwork) Rescheduled for free (still inconvenient) I rather pay now vs. wait until the next day and I was already there. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY... The manager JESSICA asked me to leave without rescheduling for being a "difficult" customer LOL... after she completely ignored my feedback because apparently "she said it was firm" and jessica apparently "KNOWS it was firm" because she "KNOWS her employees" ... like im lying lol THANKS FOR VALUING ME AS A CUSTOMER I told her I didn't care what Kadedra just told her and it was very unprofessional and childish of her to repeatedly TELL ME .. I had a wonderful massage with David and my boyfriend also had a great massage with Hannah. This has nothing to do with the massage experience. I booked for the 11th since my boyfriend and I both bought each other gift cards that we needed to use. it states online that your credit card will NOT be charged and that you ALWAYS pay in person. This info was just needed to hold your appointment. When it was time to checkout I gave my physical gift card and credit card since I thought it would be $120 as stated online (it's $70 for first timers apparently) so she says $70 and I said oh well then the gift card is enough it has $100 so she does something behind the counter and hands me my gift card back and says I'm good. Now it's time for my boyfriend to checkout and she says he has a $70 credit already on his account and we both said how? and that we haven't ever been here before. she said she didn't know how either, but to use it anyway! apparently the $70 "credit on his account" was them charging my card during the booking where it clearly states it does not charge your card. So when I checked out the woman just acted like my gift card went through, but must've she also used this mystery "$70 credit on my account" and never said anything to me... this was never a credit that was authorized. As I started earlier, we both had physical gift cards we tried and thought we used for payment when really they already charged my account the day prior. When I called to discuss this with them after seeing 2 $70 charges on my credit card they basically said the website automatically charges you (I sent her the screenshot saying they don't do that) and she said there's nothing she can do, but I "can still use my other gift cards since they did not use them..." the whole point of going was to get rid of the 2 gift cards so now we still have $200 to a company I never want to go to ever again. I asked that the credit card charged that was never authorized be reversed and my 2 physical gift cards be charged instead... she said she can't help me. The main woman I spoke with was Quay and she was very rude and ended up hanging up on me. They were not helpful and not sorry for their front desk workers/websites errors at all. They offered no solution and I would never go there again. I ended up disputing this with capital one since my card was charged after it states they would never charge your card. I tried multiple times to ensure they still get their money and offered to give them the gift card numbers if they would refund the unauthorized charges on my account. She said she couldn't do anything about it and that was it. Do not ever go to this location. Wish I could give them zero stars when it comes to running a business. Just called for an appointment for a massage and was told that even though I have a Gift Card I need to give them my credit card information. Appointment is in a half hour we will see how this goes considering I didn't give them a credit card and the people on the phone were hostile I am very sorry my husband gave me this gift. Massage Envy was in the news because they were running people's credit cards without them knowing. Now it didn't occur at this location,but the last thing I need is someone taking my money. Will review after they take me. Again it is already stressful I do not need drama. Ok went for my massage and was pleasantly surprised to meet the owner Anthony he understood my concerns and seemed genuinely warm and gracious. I had an hour massage with Argentina a lovely lady. She did a great job on my neck. The establishment itself was actually very nice setting. I always saw them in strip centers and thought the worst. So when hubby gave this to me I felt he must not really know me. But in the end it all worked out. My only issue now is a large balance still on the Gift Card if I chose to come back here I suggest calling and asking for Anthony so there is no problems. read more

I recently had a facial and to start it off positively the establishment was very clean, tranquil and the employees were very professional especially the women at the front desk I was offered water/tea while I filled out forms which both were a nice touch. Now here is where it goes from good to bad. I felt as though my facial was VERY basic and something I could've done at home myself. I've done many facials and this one falls at the bottom of my list. To begin with, I had Diana do my 60 min facial. She was a nice lady but very pushy with selling products and services. People go to get these services to enjoy it peacefully not get bombarded with pushy sales tactics. Also, I felt like she could've done more. During my facial she stopped for about 7-8 minutes while I just laid there. Like I said I've done many facials and never had someone stop in the middle of it. The extractions were bare minimum, my massage was very weak, again it was very basic. Once I was done I realized that my facial was about 30 minutes. She started late, took a break and finished early. All in all, beautiful facility but after my experience I'm not sure I will come back. UPDATE: My face has been bruised for the last 3 weeks! Patricia was my massage therapist and she was amazing. She was thorough and kept checking to make sure I was happy with the pressure and temperature. I upgraded to the aroma therapy and would definitely recommend it! (Requesting Patricia every time now) The place is super clean with calming, yet odd, music. This location is Sneaky and not willing to accommodate their clients during tough times My account was Suspended due to a locked credit card since I had misplaced it over the weekend. I'm working on getting a replacement. I couldn't used my Prepaid's on file. That's fine I wanted the option to either cancel without a penalty since I couldn't use any of my prepaid's on file due to their policy or simply reschedule once I got the credit card situated between my credit card company and my home location. The front desk staff & manger/owner were focusing me to either update my credit card or they were going to eventually remove half an hour of my prepaid. Like why couldn't I just cancel or reschedule being that my account is suspended and I'm trying to work it out with my home location, there's no need to hassle me. Okay fine they weren't going to work with me so I had no choice but to show up, well what a big disappointment the therapist Victor made a degrading comment about me under his breath during the consultation, I didn't catch it at first but as he was leaving the room made another comment which I didn't catch the exact words and started laughing as he closed the door. I also agree with some of the negative feedback others have left, especially on Nadine the assistant manager I also had some issues with her but I overlooked it being this is usually not the location I usually use. I overall do not recommend massage envy they make it hard to book with a therapist/aesthetician you feel comfortable with. What blows my mind is the front staff trying to address the issue by saying we aren't going to charge your credit card we will take it from your prepaid's Like WTF, it's the same thing, the reason why I have prepaid's on my account is because I PAID for THEM. read more
