The facility was dirty, only 1 bathroom was working properly and it was disgusting, and my therapist had nails that dug into my flesh and she talked ALOT during the treatment. Her nails were so painful that I had to ask her to stop. Fortunately, I was not charged for the massage after describing my experience to the front desk person. If you were considering getting a membership at Massage Envy, any Massage Envy - I would seriously reconsider your decision. They lure you in at one price and continue to charge you more with no communication. It is a scam and not worth the service whatsoever! In some locations they simply rush you through the service, they say it is an hour service, but in truth it ends up being roughly 35 minutes. If they dont have the product they should to complete your service, you dont know until you are laying on the table, and it is too late. They charge the same or more, but NEVER discount if they are in error. I cant end this relationship soon enough, but I am sure that will be difficult as well. read more

Christopher Krall is a stretch therapist. Typically, I do not partner with male therapists for personal reasons. However, Christopher offered a sample stretch and I had always wanted to try the service. Christopher creates a safe atmosphere so that working together felt very easy and comfortable. Christopher helped compliment my massage to deepen my flexibility and release a knot in my neck that had been bothering me for weeks. I have since added stretch to my monthly massage appointments as it offers a muscle release, different from massage, that is incredibly helpful. As a very active adult, stretching will become more and more important to retain my flexibility as I enter into the next decade (s) of life. I had the most mediocre massage I have ever had in my life.. i paid for a 60min, full body massage. I got about 45min of massage time and not my full body in the slightest. I feel like someone just rubbed their hand up and down my arms and legs for 45 minutes. You could hear talking and banging around in other rooms, doesn't have any sort of aromatherapy in the rooms. read more

Absolutely wonderful place! My massage was so good I got up and was dizzy!! They are located on the 2nd floor of the building. When you walk in, you are greeted by reception, they had us fill out some forms and took us to this dimly lit waiting room where there was tea, chocolate and water. My massage therapist was absolutely amazing, she went through what to expect, areas that I wanted focus on and asked me if it was okay for her to massage the areas of my body she would work on. Let me first start out by saying I've been going to Massage Envy Elmhurst twice a month about four months so far and unfortunately made a mistake and did not schedule a session this week so I decided to come to the La Grange Massage Envy to get a session of light therapy and a facial. Unfortunately I would have to say I am extremely upset with the services I received. 1st the pressure she was using for the face /arm-hand massage was extremely soft. I asked 3 times for firmer pressure then figured I better focus on something else so I'm not frustrated. To give you an example it was as if someone was just taking their hand and slowly moving it down your arm. 2nd I paid $60 for light therapy that was supposed to be put over my face for 20 minutes. It's an extremely bright light so sometimes it does take your eyes a couple minutes to adjust however my frustration came into when she still had not had it over my face like she should have. I had to ask why the light wasn't as bright as it normally is. She said "I like to give my customers eyes time to adjust" that's when she told me we were at the 10 min mark I only had 10 mins left when she actually placed it over my face like she should have. I understand allowing our eyes to adjust and appreciate it but that should be a couple minutes not 10 minutes. Unbelievable. I'm so bummed. read more

Massage Envy in LaGrange has poor administrators My family have all been members at Massage Envy in LaGrange for many years. However, we have all cancelled our memberships this year because of corporate policies. First, both my husband and daughter were cheated out of credits that they had. Secondly, when each of us cancelled, they put new charges on our bill claiming that it takes ten days for the cancellation to go through. They also claimed that the freeze I had on my account after I had knee surgery was only good util June, despite the fact that I had paperwork that showed it would go until August. I am now going to Elements Massage in Western Springs and have been much happier with the administration. They also have very good masseuses. read more

I would give Massage Envy a five star review if it were based solely on my deep tissue session with Caitlyn (who is a massage goddess. She has magic in her ability to apply real pressure. She brings the saying "it hurts so good" alive. And then there is Alyssa who has done chemical peels, microdermabrasion and facials on me. She is incredibly sweet and a rockstar at what she does. I saw a lot of improvement in my skin while she was treating it. No complaints from me when it comes to those two amazing ladies. What brings the review down is how incredibly awful my prenatal massages were. The last was so effing terrible that I actually wanted to leave halfway through. I seriously felt like all the therapist was doing was rubbing lotion on me. It was the first time I didn't leave a tip. I actually asked to freeze my membership after that. I would have all together canceled if it wasn't for Caitlyn and Alyssa. I must say that my experience here has been wonderful. I need deep tissue massage and the therapists I've had are spot on, adaptive, and highly skilled at biomechanics and anatomy. They found the muscles that were referring the pain and were able to calm it down and stretch it out. It eased my back pain. Finding a really good massage therapist can be a challenge, and I have been very pleased with Alisha. She really knows what she is doing and I always feel much better after sessions with her. I am very active and usually have some problem area for her to work on and she is always able to properly identify and resolve the issue. She is so good I won't even think about seeing any of the other therapists there. I was looking for a cheaper place to get a massage when I stumbled upon Massage Envy - where you can get an hour massage for $49. Massage Envy is a franchise that offers a "massage club". After paying $49 for your initial massage you are invited to join the club. For $59.00 a month you will receive one included massage and any additional massages for only $39. A pretty sweet deal! Initially, I went into Massage Envy thinking I was only going to get the first discounted massage. I didn't think I would like to corporate feel and thought that I would get kind of a "discounted" massage. Boy, was I wrong! Upon entering you are brought into a relaxing welcoming room. My therapist met me on time and asked me what kind of massage I wanted (certain problem areas, tightness, how much pressure etc). She delivered a very relaxing soothing 50 minute massage. I exited the room feeling relaxed and slightly drunk feeling. I was really impressed and signed up. And no, they don't pressure you in signing up for the program. I was worried that I would get guilted into it, but really, the front desk workers are polite and understanding. Since then, I have received a kind reminder when my complimentary monthly massage is available, and I am as equally pleased each month with all the massage therapist I have had. And, as a member you can go to any Massage Envy in the country, great when your traveling! If you are watching your pennies but still would like to treat yourself to a massage, or you physically need a massage for your health. I greatly recommend Massage Envy! read more

I have a crush on the front desk guy... He has striking eyes... I've had a crush on him for months... just saying. This is the second best Massage Envy I've been to, the first being in Wheaton in or near Danada square. Since I have the year membership, I've been to quite a few Massage Envys... the worst being Elmhurst and all of the Naperville ones. Despite this, I go to the Western Springs location regularly... pretty much because that's the one my friend that signed up with me wants to go to and also per chance I get to see the cute front desk guy once every couple of months. Even though I barely look or talk to him. My friend makes fun of me. I wouldn't even have thought about it if it wasn't for her putting in my head that he was supposedly checking me out one time and nudging the other front desk guy he was with... for all I know he was just making fun of me... maybe for my cockatoo hair that I always end up with after a massage... who knows. My membership ends in a couple of months and that'll be last of that. There are way too many groupons and similar sites such as living social that have massage deals way too often to have a need to sign a yearly contract at $59 a month. And you never know when you're gonna get a crappy therapist. The therapist I had on this particular night was a disaster... and I had to lay through 2 hours of it... I don't care for male therapists, it makes me uncomfortable, and plus this massage simply lacked skill or pressure. But I still give this location a solid 4 stars because I have also had the best massage I have ever had anywhere here. Unfortunately, that therapist couldn't book with me for 2 hours... darn my friend that had to have a 2 hour massage with HER requested therapist at only That time. Darn Darn Darn. read more

He is 100% beyond satisfied with her! Had the best massage ever here today. I had Rumi as my therapist and it is clear that her first profession (outside of the USA) was either a physical therapist or chiropractor. I enjoyed my first massage ever here. I was a bit nervous at first about the experience, but the massage therapist was very professional. The time went by very fast and I liked the fact that she did not talk during the actual massage. The ambience is nice. Although the room is a medical-type room, they try to make it a relaxing experience by dimming the lights and adding relaxing music. I really enjoyed the warm table and blanket too. I will be coming to this location again for another massage. All in all, I do think that my stress level was reduced after this experience, so it would be worth going regularly. read more

The place is clean itself and perfect for relaxation, is quiet despite is on main avenue and near train tracks in Lagrange. After taking our medical profile and write down where our main focus points to be taken care of for that day, the staff lead me to the massage room to get ready and shortly after the masseuse walked in and reviewed one more time the area to had a great massage. She listened to my needs and requests, She was very patient and made sure I had a nice experience. Wish there was a better deal for people that want to return but are unable to go as frequent as we wish we could without paying full price of massage. Dominica gave me the best facial of my life. I have pretty good skin but I had a few small breakouts from stress and oh you know, chocolate that I wanted her to address today. She so did! I was a member at hand and stone and they offered it. Bummer. Also, the receptionist, Noreen was a little pushy when offering her special membership program. I kept saying no or I would think about it and I gave reasons why. I shouldn't have because she kept finding different routes to offer it lol. It is her job though and she was very well informed. Have been going here for years. Therapists are good. Problem is you can't get an appointment. I now have 9 months worth of hours built up. I called today and they tell me to book 3 weeks in advance...if I cancel I then apparently have 60 days to use my hours. Seems like I would need to get a message every few days just to use hours I have already paid them for. If they can't service their members, they should stop charging or limit the number of members to those they can actually serve. read more

I've seen a number of the massage therapists and I've always been very pleased with the professionalism and service of each therapist, and each one has different experience in different specialities. I have enjoyed every singe massage. Several therapists stand out in terms of what I typically ask for which is deep tissue. Chad is fantastic at prenatal massage. Absolutely fantastic, and impressively good at making me feel at ease while hugely pregnant. Adrianna and Caitlin are breathtakingly awesome at deep tissue. Their ability to maintain consistent pressure throughout and to find issues I hadn't even told them about before the session is incredible. I told her I was sore through my back and legs she told me I needed to buy a lotion for $10.00 which I declined. She told me a massage wouldn't help unless I used the cream. Came here on Sunday and left sorely disappointed (both literally and figuratively). Upon checking in I was reassured that my massage therapist was excellent and highly requested. Upon greeting me, she listened to my concerns and then left me get ready. When she began the massage she immediately discovered tightness along the left side of my back. I immediately jumped, even stating "wow, it feels like you're stabbing me". She quickly asked if I wanted to continue, to which I replied "yes, but carefully". She continued, rather aggressively, until I finally stopped her with "I think that's enough". When I turned over, I asked her to please avoid my neck and clavicle, as it makes me extremely uncomfortable. Approximately 2 minutes later, she focused specifically on those areas. When I immediately jumped, she said "oh yeah, I forgot" and moved on. She then moved to working on my shoulders and commented "you really need to do something about this, it has to be causing you problems", which I think was meant to be supportive but came across as rude and judgmental. Thankfully, the remainder of my appointment was less intense. That said, I left saying to my friend "I think I'm going to be bruised" and lo and behold, I am! In 4 places!!! I've had a number of massages in my life, none of them as uncomfortable as this one, so I e-mailed Massage Envy to let them know of my discomfort and bruising. They called me back, offering for me to return for another massage at the introductory rate. At this point, I can't fathom that. I called and followed up today via phone. I immediately put on hold and then again given the option to return. I expressed my major concern which is that I didn't feel listened to or well cared for by the masseuse. The office manager briefly sympathetic but continued to encourage me to return. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience and the fact that Massage Envy's bottom line (& top dollar) appear to be the priority. read more

I get massage typically about every 4-6 weeks so I figured this was a great option to join. I would keep myself on a 4 week schedule and save some money. I think my membership lasted for about 7-8 months at least. I tired about 7-8 therapist in that time frame no one seemed to know what they were doing. It became frustrating to me, I don't think I'm picky I've never had a problem elsewhere. I'm not sure if they are hiring people right out of school or I know a few I talked to mentioned it was a part time gig. All in the "savings" wasn't worth it because I NEVER received a massage I was happy with. read more
