I love going to the salt cave! This is one of the few things that I will drive out to the suburbs from the city to go to because I like it so much. I have never had a better nap than I have in this salt cave. It's so peaceful, the salt helps you breathe well, and the no phone policy allows you to feel truly relaxed. If you're feeling sad or sick, I really recommend coming here to heal and recharge. Also, the staff here are so friendly and make you feel so welcome for your salt cave session. read more

I wish I could give this place a better review because they were very nice but it was so incredibly hot in there I almost left my session early. As soon as we walked into the cave we asked if the temp was going to stay so high and she said it's the way it is because of the salt. Well we have frequented quite a few different caves and never have had this problem. It was quite literally sweltering. Another issue is the parking situation. A group of us met there and it took us all at least 20 minutes to find parking and we had to walk 3-4 blocks back. I think that another isssue was the way that when the session is about to end the voice startles you and immediately ruins any calm you had. In past experiences at other salt caves they tend to ease you out of your meditation and its lets you maintain the calm. read more

I visited this place pre-COVID during the 2019 holidays and bought a great deal on a package which included the aquascaple table and a 45-minute salt cave session. I had read reviews that were mediocre to not great about another salt cave in a nearby suburb and wasn't sure if I should take the risk or not. But Primal Oceans seemed to have a couple of good reviews at the time and I decided to give it a try. And I am SO GLAD I did!! It was so unbelievably relaxing and the vibe was beautiful and zen-like, and everything so clean. The aquamassage table was amazing...I didn't want it to end!! I had never done it be before but learned that by laying on this table, that it stimulates a gravity-free state with soft lights that were alternating between different colors, each one giving some kind of different relaxation benefit. Amazing because no need to change clothes! The only thing is you wear socks that they give you. After the aquamassage table, I had my salt cave session. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a weekday and no one else was there so I was lucky to get a chance to soak it all in by myself. I was given headphones to listen to meditative music and I was a little worried that without my phone (they aren't allowed in the salt cave) that I'd panic. But in time, I forgot about it and really allowed myself to relax and enjoy the cave. The lounge chairs were comfortable (what I'm familiar with in my acupuncture place actually) and I loved the site of all the pillars of salt around me and the ceiling which had twinkle lights. Last year I was super crushed to hear that this special little place is closing. Then they had great news that they are staying open after all! I think this place is amazing in general, but even more so that all of its services are contactless (except the salt cave). read more

I went in for the salt caves and I will not be going back until they figure out some things. First apparently a dance studio opened up next door or upstairs so all I heard was loud heavy thumping the entire 45 minutes. The room is also cold and a lot of the headsets don't work. I spent about 10 mins fussing with mine before I could get them to work. Just not the best experience so call first and ask about the dance nonsense cause I really wanted to enjoy this but couldn't. Rude front desk girl! When you enter such establishment your would think you would be greeted in peace, by a nice calm friendly face. Well thus us why go go there for to relax. So I only sat in the cave, was 1st time, it was relaxing relaxing~ The people I treated (out of town family, this was their "Christmas gift") got the "journey to wellness" package ~ one did jade roller and both did aqua massage. Both enjoyed them very much. The foot detox was also Enjoyed, though the process was a bit gross/mins blowing. They sat in the cave with the heated amethyst blanket (?). Again they told me multiple times how relaxed and good they felt. The young lady working was super nice and over all it was exactly as I hoped it was and even more well received then I could imagine. Very nice place. I was not too impressed with the massage beds however after the salt cave session I clearly felt my sinuses open and allergies alleviated. Make sure to ask for the headphones to be turned on during the aqua massage as well as tell them your height so as to not have the water rain down on your head with a horrendous sound (no music in my headphones and the water current that I was told should only come to your shoulders was directed onto my ears so as you can imagine it was highly uncomfortable). read more

I work in a Med Spa, but am always willing to try unconventional healing therapies. I had been wanting to try this place for 2 years but I just couldn't find the time. So before i moved from IL, myself and my coworker, whom also wanted to experience the salt cave, made a reservation for the Salt Cave w the Bio Mat option ( which I have tried before at the Ruby Room) and a foot detox treatment. Easy to find, plenty of street parking, even near the metra line. The spa itself was very welcoming inside and there was a great display of crystals and salt lamps inside. We were welcomed and taken to hang up our coats and store our purses in a secure locker. The foot detox was first and we went into a private room which looked like it could accomodate 3 to 4 people doing a foot detox, but just my friend and I had the room to ourselves. They explained how this treatment works and what to expect. We relaxed in comfy chairs with massage functions and relaxed for about 20 mins. And our water was a gross color post detox. They got our feet all cleaned off and we transferred over to the actual salt cave once we donned their clean ankle socks they provide. Since we opted for the Biomat experience, we were shown inside and to some comfy lounge chairs with the biomats on them. We got all relaxed with a nice blanket on top and then put the headphones on for our salty dreamy journey. There were a couple other folks inside but everyone was quiet and ready to relax. After our 60 minutes, I felt great. Nice and warm, relaxed and refreshed. My friend felt the same. We really enjoyed our experience. I will also mention how clean and peaceful this space is. We perused the crystals and I took home a beautiful small selenite tower bought my coworker a crystal as a parting gift. Lemme start off by saying that I'm not the hugest believer in detoxification and the likes, but it's always fun to do that stuff, though not on my own dollar. My boyfriends mum had gotten us a deluxe spa escape package for xmas, which we hadn't used since my bf works the normal 9-5 M-F, and I was only ever here on weekends, up until I had moved back. Now at the time leading up to us finally using it, they couldn't book us because all spots were full. I mean, that's my only gripe about this place is that it's hard to get an appointment because they have odd hours and since everything is by on a strict time table, it's nearly impossible to get in. But totes worth it if you can! We finally made the appointment for this morning, for our 2.5-3hr session. The package was priced at $125/each person. Here is what I experienced: Zero Gravity Bed/Aqua Bed (30 minute session): You're in a tiny little bed, covered with a nice warm blanket. It drops you down and you're basically in a water bed, including your covers. It's nice and warm, the bed changes colors, which is supposed to do cool stuff for you. You get headphones to listen to relaxing music. Ahhhhhhh. So peaceful and amazing. You really feel it after it's done and you have to bear all your own weight again. Aqua Massage (20 minute session): This was my favorite part of the package. Jet's shooting down, you control style and amount of force applied. It really feels like heaven. It's not as good as a real massage but I mean it's a freaking sweet alternative. You get headphones here too! Foot Bath (30 minute session): Fill up a little sink with warm water, put some contraption in it and see all the metals from your body escape. Kinda gross, but in a super cool way. My bf's was really sludgy, mine was just dirty - guess I'm healthier ;) HA! You get nice big reclining chairs which can heat up and vibrate. Unfortunately his didn't work. Option to have headphones, but we just chatted. Salt Cave/Meditation (45 minutes): Super awesome to be in the salt cave where you can taste the salt in the air. Nice atmosphere, extremely beautiful. They give you headphones to guide you into the meditation and calm you, and an amazing blanket.... I wish I could've bought it, so nice! All in all, totally worth it! I don't think I'd pay for it myself, since I'm not the richest person, but I'd TOTALLY do it again if I could :) Amazing staff! They make you wear their pair of socks, just so you know. So when a thunderous noise and pounding from above never cease in the 45 minutes during which one is supposed to be relaxing and meditating what do you do???? My sister and I kept wondering if there was a frikkin' tornado or something similar outside. Trains, what could it be? For both of us, It was very disarming to sit in a quiet space of great tranquility without understanding why it seemed as though we had a movie theater above where they were showing an action filled movie - I think we've probably all had that experience. I feel a little bad about giving this place only 2 stars because the service was great and all in all it's a nice enough place. I went to Primal Oceans Salt Cave today with two friends. We all did the ionic foot bath and salt cave. When we left, we agreed that while it was a fun experience we probably wouldn't do the salt cave again (meh) but maybe the foot bath. Why the two star rating? When you do the 30 minute foot bath your water will turn a brownish/black color. We were told that these are the toxins coming out of your body. And we believed it! So....we did a little research when we got home. Watch the Inside Edition you tube video about ionic foot baths. It's a total scam. Basically, we paid 40 bucks to soak our feet in rust! So despite the good service and pleasant atmosphere, I cannot recommend a place that knowingly charges you 40 bucks to soak your feet in rust and tells you it's toxins coming out of your body. I recently received Karen's chakra Balancing and chakra Flow services - it was an amazing and empowering experience for me! As someone who doesn't know a lot about chakras, Karen guided me through the entire session, answered questions that arose along the way, and attuned herself with my energy really beautifully. As she worked her way through balancing and opening my chakras that were blocked using crystals, she took notes that she later provided to me and explained. During flow, I was empowered to guide myself through an auditory experience of each chakra to help me tune into my own energetic flow. First visit here and my hubby and I tried out the Salt Cave. The first impression was marvelous: the greeting was extremely friendly, and we were given some introductory information about our upcoming experience and then shown to the storage area. There are cubbies for the shoes and they provide white socks to slip over your street socks or bare feet if you came in with sandals (the white socks protect the loose Himalayan sea salt on the floor of the cave). They also have storage lockers so the guys can stash their cellphones and the ladies can stow their purses. The space outside the cave is beautifully decorated - it's welcoming and cozy. Since we had a few minutes before our cave session started, we sat in a small sitting area which had comfortable chairs and a binder with additional information about the benefits of Himalayan sea salt. Once it was time to enter the salt cave, we were free to choose any of the available Zero Gravity chairs, each of which was outfitted with fluffy blankets and Bose noise-cancelling headphones. After we were each assisted with getting our blankets smoothed out to perfection, we were given an informative speech about the salt cave and some of the benefits of the salt. Then we put on our headphones and the narration and music began. After 45 minutes, the narrator on the music track told us that the session had concluded. It was a wonderful, relaxing experience. I especially like that they leave no detail overlooked in terms cleanliness: they disinfect the headsets and chairs between sessions, and launder the blankets after each use. And, the entire place, including the restrooms, is spotless. In the sitting area they also have a water cooler and cups in case you are thirsty after being surrounded by tons and tons of salt. My husband wanted a day of relaxation for his birthday, so I planned this as one of our activities. He enjoyed it so much he wants to go back soon. You listen to the ocean waves (you can use headphones if you'd rather) and gentle instrumental sounds for 45 minutes. A truly unique experience! I've been to the salt cave twice and it's been wonderful--from the minute you are greeted to the minute you leave. Small lockers are provided for belongings as well as clean socks. Once inside the cave (made of tons of Himalayan salt), you select a zero gravity chair, put on noise canceling headphones, grab a blanket, and settle in for 45 minutes of relaxation. Once the session was over I definitely could feel the respiratory effects and, better yet, I was completely at ease. It's suggested that you arrive 10-15 minutes early, which I highly recommend so as not to be rushed or delay the session for others. The salt cave is located right by the BNSF train line, which makes it very convenient if coming from the city. Ample parking lots can also be found in the area. Get to it! read more

Place was amazing! They offer a variety of services. I tried the relaxing salt cave! It was a super nice room the floor was covered in fine pink Himalayan salt and the walls and ceiling have salt covering as well. The ceilings had patches of night sky with twinkle lights and soft glowing lights around for a relaxing ambiance. You lay back in nice lounger chairs and drift away listening to spa music. You can get a relaxing massage without getting wet! Great invention. The Zen Bed had me feeling like I was floating in an abyss. The foot bath draws the toxins out of your system taking the basic foot bath up a notch! And to end with a session in the Salt Cave is the way to go! I heard great things about salt caves, so when I had a day off I wanted to check it out. I'm a city of chicago resident and la grange was about a half hour away. Primal Ocean salt cave was beyond my expectation of what this experience should be like. It was much like a spa and was very clean and inviting. Primal Ocean provides their guests with zero gravity chairs, warm soft blankets, socks, and they provide bose noise canceling headphones with tranquil music. 35 bucks for 45 minutes was well worth the feeling i had when I arrived, was in the cave, and as I left. She gave a thorough explanation of what I should expect and was very sweet! I hope to try the foot therapy next.
