The manager, Cici, is the reason for the 1 STAR. How uninformed does management think their clients actually are? A few weeks back I had an afternoon massage and in all honesty, after 8 years of having a membership with ME, I finally had a complaint. Thankfully I was able to speak with the management, Cici, and she explained what happened. You see, Cici, explained that I had been scheduled for the INCORRECT service and how this was more of a "medically" focused service. Oh, OK I see...so that's why I was drenched in oil to where I had to request halfway through that Sandra stop to wipe some of it off. That must be why Sandra squeezed my toes (that was it for the feet), poked my shoulders at the bony area and COMPLETELY ignored my back. Sandra barely spent any time on my arms but way too much time on the legs. I stopped the service early because my anxiety and stress level was off the charts half way through. I went here to get a massage because my feet and legs were sore so when I filled out the paperwork, I said, please focus on my legs and feet when I got into the massage room. I told the girl Alma to please focus on my legs and feet. She never touched my feet one time and barely worked on my legs. The whole time was focused on my back where I did not need attention and normally I wouldn't complain, but this is the second time this has happened at the same office in Menifee I've had good experiences at other massage envy, but never at this one. read more

You are charged a ridiculous up charge for not being a member, and the girl at the desk tries to push you into purchasing a membership, being charged one month and then counseling for the lower rate! Went in for a 90 minute massage. When greeted by the lady at the front, she asked me questions about being massaged in certain areas including my scalp and feet, I told her that would be great. My therapist instead kinda tortured my back, which I'm sure had a lot of tension, but didn't touch my head or feet which I was really upset about. Those were two places I had wanted a good massage the most. If someone is paying for a 90 minute full body massage please give them a full body massage! read more

If I could give less than one star I would. My wife and I signed up for the massage plan and got our first couples massage no problem. That was the ONLY no problem. For the following 3 appointments (each scheduled 2 weeks apart) at least one of us were sent a text stating that the therapist either went home early due to illness or "had a family emergency" and didn't come in. We called after the third time and said we wanted the package cancelled. We were told we had to cancel at least 10 days before the billing cycle so we HAD to keep the last appointment. Lo and behold, we get a text on the same day as the appointment (like the last 3) and it stated that the therapist wouldn't be available because they went home sick. We called to cancel the package permanently and they tell us we had to COME IN to sign cancellation paperwork. This was never conveyed to us when we called to cancel the first time. They emailed us the form to sign and send back. I'm not sure if every Massage Envy does this or if this is just a problem with this location! We will NEVER step foot into this business again and suggest you don't either unless you have a flexible schedule to work around THEIR employee issues! read more

My massage was done by Brenda and she was great, would love to see her for a longer session if I could. I however didn't appreciate how I was asked beforehand about my health issues in the main lobby for everyone including other customers to hear and see even though they have an empty separate private sitting room a few feet away. I don't remember her name but right after being in a dark room the same person (not brenda) lead me back to the bright and loud main lobby passing the empty sitting room only this time to sell me membership. They didn't want to take no for an answer, I was getting overwhelmed and it just ruined the relaxed headspace I was in. I just wanted to sit and relax in peace with my water until I was able to actually walk and drive again. If selling like this is normal practice for massage envy then I hesitate coming back because of it. read more

Recently was visiting my mom in Menifee and had time to use my membership visits. I chose Tony because he was the one who did deep tissue and had appointments available. Once he started the massage I was questioning how he had any openings because he is amazing! I love deep tissue and decided to add hot stones because I hadn't treated myself in a long time. Tony's technique with hot stones incorporated into the deep tissue massage was outstanding! Every area that he massage, he also used the hot stones! He was so detailed with every area! The only reason why am even giving this place an opportunity is because my husband bought me a gift card, which, by the way, they will not refund! They either cancel the session or reschedule it because their employees aren't working that day because they are having scheduling problems. And when you actually do get an appointment they tell you last minute when you're in the place that you can't come in because of some rule or regulation they have. I'm sooooooo over them. Do yourself a favor and don't get the membership! It's expensive and they seems to not care you are spending your money there. Go to the massage place in Sun city instead by the Vons. Julie and Natalie are amazing! I was a business manager for a branch in TX, I've had many massages and Natalie had great pressure and knew what my body needed more than I did. I was impressed and totally relaxed. My mom had a 90 min with Julie and couldn't stop praising her the whole way home, literally did a happy dance and touched her toes while standing up. The day before my mom was in tears with unbearable back pain. Thanks for fixing my mom Julie, now she can chase my 1 year old around no problem! Great job ladies. Last minute CANCELLATIONS are a real problem with this place. Of the last 5 massages my wife and I have scheduled, 4 have been cancelled. We have 2 massages scheduled for 11am today and, you guessed it, we just got the cancellation call for my wife's appointment at 9:45am. For a major massage chain, how do you NOT have someone on call (maybe a permanent substitute masseuse) to handle these situations as they arise? The real problem is we still get charged that monthly fee even when try cancel. Of course I'm going to cancel my massage now. I don't know where to begin with this review. Long-term members with chance after chance to make things right. On multiple occasions our appointments would get canceled the day of and/or while we are sitting in the meditation room waiting. Spoke to the office manager multiple times to try to rectify situations. The turnover of masseuses is ridiculous. I have to book months in advance for them just to cancel on you same day. I highly recommend finding a non-chain masseuse. Spent lots of money on 60 minute appointments that by the time you get in and out of there it may be 45-50 minutes max. My time is just as valuable as theirs but not taken into consideration. read more

I booked a massage with a male staff member (my preference) when I arrived for my confirmed appointment they said he wasn't available and they Only had a female available. I told them I would reschedule then, and they said they would have to charge me a cancellation fee since they had an available massage therapist on staff to do my massage after speaking with the "manager" they said they'd make an exception that time to let me reschedule but normally they wouldn't do that! I'm a hairdresser and I know if I wasn't available for my client and they showed up without me telling them I was not available and then they were told they had to go to someone else to get their hair done and they refused and I charged them a cancellation fee, that would be unacceptable. I'll begin with saying the services in general are great and I have never had an issue with this. I have been getting massages and facials here for about 4 years. But lately I have been extremely disappointed in the amount of day of cancellations. Upon reading these reviews, it appears I'm not the only one! Within the past 6 months, I've probably had about 6 day-of cancellations which is unacceptable for a major establishment like this. I tried booking a facial 2 months ago and have yet to receive it because of cancellation on top of cancellation! Then, to make matters worse, I can't book another one for at least a week because they're booked out so they keep getting pushed out and pushed out and then, perhaps, cancelled again! It's ridiculous. If you ask for a credit they will comp you (at least that's what I do!). So if you book here, be prepared to get that dreaded phone call letting you know that your therapist is sick and has to cancel. read more

I'm sad to say I've come to the conclusion that this place is first and foremost a money collection business, rather than a provider of health and wellness services. If they were good at providing a service they wouldn't need to make you sign a contract and automatically bill you. I should have known better, and the more people I talk with the more I hear stories of people having multiple sessions accumulated, then losing them when they cancelled their membership. It will be a good day when I get to cancel mine. This isn't even my home location, but I've tried 3 of these places in the area and I have yet to find a therapist or esthetician who is good AND consistent in terms of quality, and who sticks around. I'd be very interested in knowing what level of job satisfaction the employees experience on average. At this point you might be asking why in the world did I commit to a membership in the first place!! Well, my introductory session here was decent enough and at the time I liked the idea of having additional "member rate" sessions during the month. I figured it would be worth it if I got 2 or 3 sessions a month which was my goal...I was on a heavy workout regime at the time. But that first therapist has since left unfortunately and I haven't found another who's good and consistent. I won't go into details about each session but for my last service I had a regular facial and there were periods of several minutes each during which the esthetician wasn't actively doing anything. I've always had estheticians massage my arms, hands, neck, shoulders, and décolleté after applying the masque etc, and waiting the appropriate amount of time until removal, during which massage would be performed. This particular esthetician rushed through the massage portions and then just sat at the head of the table for several minutes each time. I wondered if she was on her phone, but I can't really know that obviously. It was rather awkward and uncomfortable having a service provider in such close proximity to me while I'm in a pretty vulnerable position (half naked under a sheet with eyes closed) and having no idea what she's doing. The massage tables here are narrow and worn out too...it feels like I'm resting on a piece of plywood with a few inches of foam. After my last facial session I left with a sore lower back. Everything seems to be clean though, I've never experienced any issue with cleanliness. I've gotten quite a few massages over a couple decades and it's unfortunate this has become the standard. read more
